Here's my take on what could happen: Acheran is an unknown for me, he's basically just appointed because the 2nd needed a captain when Sicarius went missing. We saw the same thing happen in the Imperial Fists when Lysander and some mates went on a bit of a bender on Medrengard. Sicarius was probably moved to the Victrix Guard by Guilliman to give Acheran some time for him to grow as a commander out from under his former captain's shadow. Titus' return is honestly more of a boon to Acheran than a hinderance. Here is an officer who has already proved himself capable of company-level command, and has never done so to be a glory hound (like how some captains consider Sicarius). Titus earned his captain's laurels in the fires of battle, and then went on to triumph over the forces of chaos and the accusations of corruption against him. Here's what I think will happen: Acheron is desperate to prove himself as a commander in the presence of these two previous captains. People who are desperate to prove themselves act recklessly (like Sicarius), and often get themselves killed. It is at the point of crisis when Acheran is killed, that I think Titus will step up, rally the second, and lead them to victory. It is only after that victory is secured, that the drama with Sicarius will start up. He'll want his old position as 2nd Company Captain back, and his men will be split between the commander who led them to honor and glory for the last century, or the man who just saved them when all hope was lost. That I believe is the drama that will take the wisdom of Calgar or the Primarch to remedy.

My hope for the lore is we get to watch Leandros ripped apart by Tyranids, after he sees Titus return. And Sidonis was interred in a Dreadnought and gets to talk and kick ass with Titus again. I really don’t see any drama between him and Sicarius. GW has been trying to give Sicarius a growth from his past reckless behavior and a bit of a PTSD angle too

Well, as far as I recall from the game, Titus was fairly level-headed and humble. I "think" he'd be happy serving under whichever position he is appointed to, without any politics or ego getting in the way. But I didn't read the off-game lore.

Titus not forcing things is precisely why he should be leader

I don't really see Titus and Sicarius clashing. They're both men of action and I don't really see them as opposed to each other. Plus Sicarius was appointed to the Victrix Guard by Guilliman himself as their commander so if anything Sicarius sort of got a promotion.

They really shouldn't have much of a Clash unless the loreputs them into a position where both are vaining for control of the second company. Perhaps a campaign, after Titus has made a name for himself with the new men of the Second, where the Vitrix Guard and Second company must fight alongside eachother. Sicarius supports wishing him to take overall command and Brevet Captain Titus backed by a faction of his own.

Titus is back but hidden behind the name Damocles now, Alot is implied with that name.

Titus comes off as the sort who would want to earn back his position instead of getting into a dumb slapfight with Sicarius, but Agemman, and possibly Calgar, would put his support behind Titus if Acheran steps down to perform his duties as Tetrarch. Sicarius is a glory-hound, but he's got his position in the Victrix now. It'll probably be up to Guilliman in the end, mind you.

Given Gullimans speech about "victory", he gives off vibes that are similar to titus, not the humble part but the "thinking for yourself" codex defiant part. I bet gulliman is gonna save titus for captain status until another "all hope is lost" scenario occurs as it would make the most sense to keep the most capable leader available in reserve just in case. Titus is pretty content being a Marine regardless of rank, as if he needed rank to be a force of nature to begin with, at least, whatever the Astartes version of a force of nature is.

Why not both? Both are great characters, people dislike Sicarius, and i agree, but i think Kyme has fixed him lately and Titus well i cant wait for someone to dedicate a book for him

Okay... just imagine Titus, Malum & Cato teaming up.

I think CPT. Ventris and the 4th company. Also, I just think Ventris is a better well rounded leader/ character. I understand I maybe green pauldron biased lol.

I think it's unlikely that Sicarius will be brought out of the Honor Guard. Guilliman has taken an interest in him, as Cato remind Guilliman of Aeonid Thiel, and wants to keep him close so that he can better mold Cato in a more balanced Ultramarine, instead of just a warrior like he's been. Likewise, I think Titus will be good for Acheran and act as an advisor, helping Acheran grow into his own as captain of the second company. The White Dwarf makes it pretty clear Titus doesn't care for positions of power and only wants to serve the chapter and the Imperium. It'll probably be a comfort for Archeran to know that his chain of command is secure and that should the worse occur to him or he's incapacitated, the company would be in good hands under the Titus

I prefer Titus as a character but I'm into Cato's helmet. Can we get a cool hat for Titus? If so, I'm endorsing him - looking forward to Space Marine 2 !

Most of those who served with Captain Titus were firstborn. Now, according to lore the second company is all primaris. Those Marines would have no loyalty to Titus, only to Acheran. Therefore Titus would do his duty. Captain Sicarius may well find himself taking over the fifth company as they are still firstborn. If Gulliman orders it Sicarius would accept.

Veterans from the first would remember Titus though, as would many of the officers, including the chapter commanders. And even if the 2nd is mostly Primaris, that’s partially because most of the firstborn 2nd died when Sicarius’ ship was lost in the warp, and when he returned the 2nd had already been given to a new captain. So, you’ve got one notorious hothead of a captain who now guards the Primarch, who led the old company to glory but was also used to sacrificing plenty of men. And you’ve also got the captain before him, a reliable, sensible and yet an undoubtedly brave and capable soldier who only lost the position because one of his subordinates ratted him out to a shifty Inquisitor.

I don't know about Sicarius being seconded to lead the fifth company. It seems like Guilliman sees something in Sicarius and could be grooming him to take over the chapter upon Calgar's death? Or I'm reading into things. Who knows?

I think that the former captain now leading the personal card is going to be the chapter master in the next round.The current captain of the second will be first captain and the only ten years captain of the second will return to that position. I think they're setting up a conflict between the first captain and the chapter master with one of them.Fall into chaos and nobody knows which is the real fallen to chaos. I think you're gonna see the three captains of the second come together as the force that maintains the center of the chapter.

Tigurius and Calgar are definitely feeling shame for what happened. Him having a mini as a lieutenant means it would be difficult to get a promotion. Mini's settle lore in stone for a period of time once they are released. There will still be veterans of that era calling him or treating him as Captain that's for sure.

I am really interested in aggenman opinion on Titus considering he was captain of the second company whilst Titus was a battle-brother Also titus will not move up in rank considering he was given a LT miniature in the space marine board game and GW wouldt make 2 miniatures of the same character in that short order

@@c0ldsh0w3r Titus saved an entire world from orks, chaos and prevented the demonic ascension of a chaos marine. And his job was made extra difficult because of a certain dead inquisitor. You'd think he have the courtesy to inform ultramar that he's taking one of their battle brothers.

Is Uriel simply out of the conversation? I knoe Uriel is a company 4 captain, but he can easily be first captain

Do they even count the game marines as cannon like the one from Bolter or Titus?

Honesty I'm team Uriel Ventris.

While this is an interesting question, would the Primarch allow anything that could destabilize his legion? And I said legion intentionally since even if the Ultramarines maintain "Chapter" status, it makes sense for them being the namesake of the legion that they take on a role commanding other chapters in large campaigns.

Personally think that Titus will be like, "It matters not what I think. I am a Lieutenant and he is the Captain." And then proceed to be like the Sergeant from the game, can't remember his name atm, and help the current Captain grow but never undermind him.

i dont see any kind of beef. sicarious already has a vitrix job. im much more interested in kalgar's feeling and thoughts and how the reunion went. titus records were erased and that made him think that he was disgraced from the chapter while i think kalgar's felt like shit for not being able to help him... but still, erasing his records is a dick move

Sicarius will remain captain of Victrix guard until he dies or there needs to be a new chapter master. Titus will be forgotten as soon as SM2 is over.

Im half expecting Lucius to end up fighting Cato, lose to him and end up re-emerging through Cato, thus killing Cato.

Cato grew on me as time has gone on. He is brash, but its because he can actually get the job done. His skills have vindicated his ego which is a problem, but also makes him more understandable.

admittedly my opinion of sicarius is poor. from the books I've read his plot armour is titan grade and he's always come across to me as a preening fop. if the smurfs weren't egalitarian sicarius would be a blue blood who purchased his commission not earned it. you have a ultramarine that actually understands the lessons of guilliman and cautions again treating the codex as gospel... against the 40k version of John Rosendale from the sharpe series

Hello, Roh I got into Warhammer before covid and since have consumed thousands of hours through games, books, miniatures, and Warhammer KZread videos. Sadly this will be the last time I spend any time/ money on Warhammer content. The retroactive addition of female custodies and the gaslighting by GW has shown me that not only does GW not care about the setting, but it actively dislikes people like me who are invested in it. I cannot support a company that actively despises me and as an extension, I cannot support people who make a living by supporting such a company. Thank you for all of the 40k content up until this point but unfortunately, I will no longer be able to enjoy it. In my eyes future content is still 40k in the same way that a taxidermized pet is still your pet.

Sicarius Chapter master. Ventris 1st Captain. Titus takes over 2nd Captain. Calgar and Acheran are killed, BAM big epic lore clash of deaths. ( Calgar should of died vs Abaddon.....)
