The tension in this movie is unreal. The whole border scene buildup is masterfully done. And the cinematography. That shot when they're walking into the darkness of dusk. Man..

In this movie Benicio is one of the strangest main characters in a film. Because you don't even realize he's the main character until the last act, this was his revenge story. I guess in a way the movie deceives you like Emily Blunt is deceived and doesn't realize what's really going on until the end.

It’s really clever. He’s not even in the movie for the first 15-20 minutes…and it’s kind of up to you at the end to decide whether he’s the good guy, or the bad guy!
You guys should take note of the director Denis Villeneuve. He's also from Montreal and killing it in Hollywood right now. Everything he touches he elevates... Incendies, Prisoners, Enemy, Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049 and Dune, he's on a legendary run right now.

Emily Blunts character was basically the audience character. You were seeing the situation through her eyes. She was green, naive and inexperienced with the violence and ruthlessness of the situation on both sides.
@mudgatebronn4438
6 ай бұрын
As an audience member I had a difficult time relating to her. Especally in the border scene when she got upset that the Delta guys shot thugs that tried to kill them (wtf should they had done, just let the thugs shoot them?) and yet she did the exact same thing herself, killed a guy who shot at her. Throughout the whole movie she was just complaining about how unetical everything was. Such a snowflake.
@thedragonlee76

@mudgatebronn4438 Her reaction to the Delta guys killing the cartel guys in their car was showing that she was starting to realize the violence of the situation. She shot and killed the guy approaching the vehicle coming from behind. Now,the end, when she aimed her gun at Benicio Del Torres character after he threatened to kill her, understood, that she is not a wolf,or ruthless killer. She showed that she, like the audience, has a moral compass.

As someone who lives in Texas and used to cross the Mexican border at Brownsville in the 90s, I can tell you the traffic is unreal and you will be in line for hours. If you guys ever drive across, my tips are: dont cross at night, avoid crossing on the weekend, and don't cross in a car with license plates other than Texas. My family from out of state would literally rent a car in Brownsville so they'd have Texas plates when crossing. Honestly, the safest way into Mexico is flying in.
This is one of my favorite movies. I love the Sequel, too. I hope you all watch the second movie also. Ok, now let me watch y'all watch the movie 😂😊
When Alejandro says Kate reminds him of his daughter, it’s more than just a passing comment. What he’s really saying is that she is innocent, and uncorrupted and does not belong in the world that he has been condemned to. And for his part, he saves her life twice, the second time by telling her she is in a land of wolves and must get out. It’s something he was unable to do for his own daughter as he was the reason she was taken. So in doing so, it’s like he’s trying to right a wrong. Once you look past the brutality, there are some morals behind his actions.
@bilpaparigormoetis5020

Who was Kate going to tell? Her Boss, who told her that everything was legal? The only American law broken was when Kate re-entered the US through the tunnel instead of a Port of Entry.

They weren't stopping the drugs in the movie they were trying to take over snd control the drug flow
Thx for reacting to this! I love your videos.
I don't know if it has been recommended or if you have seen it yet but you should honestly Check out "Four Brothers" staring Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, Garret Hedlund and André 3000 and so many others that performed amazingly well in the movie
This is one of the best slow burn 🔥 action movie post 2000 until present day. The tension and suspense are real. The movie is dark, violence and brutal yet real and wholesome. General public audience or viewers might thought that Emily Blunt or Josh Brolin were the highlights of this movie, not knowing that the main character of this movie/story was actually Benicio Del Toro. He’s the punisher here. Once a prosecutor, now a hitman. Alejandro, the Mexican hitman. He is the “Sicario”. And this whole movie is all about him😊❤
American Made: It's a crazy, unbelievable true story and Tom Cruise was awesome in it. He actually flew the planes.
Hell yes - this is absolutely one of my favorite movies of all time. Denis Villeneuve is the best working director currently imho. I know you said it was a bit slow but the end pays off. This movie does an amazing job of ratcheting up the tension. The thing I love about Villenueve is that he is willing to let these scenes breathe a bit. There are some great breakdowns about the way the entire lead up to and then the reactions on the bridge scene out there. The characters literally tell you in the briefing what is going to happen, but I think you missed it. They said "If something is going to happen - it will happen on the bridge." but then the director distracts you with a bunch of tension. You feel it go up and down and up and down until it hits. The slow release of the information about what is actually going on in the movie is the thing I love about it.
This movie has one of my favorite and most satisfying ending I've seen.
Benicio's character, Alejandro, is one of the most heart breaking I've seen in a movie in many years. I just finally watched this movie for the first time and I'm glad it took me this long, honestly. I needed some catharsis in my life and this provided it.
The bigger picture is.... The US has always had an odd relationship with the cartels... The PROBLEM is that the bad guy had gained too much of a monopoly in drug trafficking which was causing a problem in the US, which is what Kate was in the middle of at the beginning of the film.... By eliminating Diaz, it brings back competition...and as long as they're all fighting each other in Mexico, it makes things more manageable in the US... (Matt briefly explained that to Kate). Benecio's character was just the weapon Matt used to eliminate the monopoly...his job was to stir the pot enough to get Manuel called back to Mexico, where he could let Benicio's character (the sicario) finalize him. Kate was there to legitimize the activity.
This movie was amazing. Part two is just as good. Love the video octokrool stay motivated dream big 1 mill on the way
4:13 ..."I'm sure it doesn't smell good, bruh"... A decade ago I was studying cooking. Before leaving for 2 weeks on christmas break, some genius forgot that he or she left a plate with half-baked croquettes in a cabinet that's used to cool things but is not a freezer. It stood there for two complete weeks with no power on. After coming back, my class was the first to came in the room, and noticed the stink. I was the unfortunate bastard who find out where the smell came from, but since the cabinet was closed, the smell was quite contained. I was fool enough to open it and that fucking stink came all over my nose right to the brain... I do believe that a rotten corpse must stink even worse than that, but at least, I can have an idea of how bad...
Punisher guy is a great supporting actor in the movie "The Accountant". It stars Ben Afleck, but has a great all round cast.

Fun fact: the torture scene where they were supposed to waterboard didn’t happen. What actually happened was when the guy with the gallon of water didn’t use it. Him standing close to the guy represented dominance, meaning the person being tortured was about to get penetrated. So that’s what actually happened. 14:36
"That guy doesn't deserve TV"🤭🤭🤭
This movie is a masterpiece. One of many directed by Denis Villenruve. Saw this in the theaters back in the day when i learned this director was going to do the sequel of Blade Runner. After watching it i knew the BR sequel was in good hands and how right i was.
The water jug was for water boarding. It simulates drowning to torture a suspect.
Awesome Reactions! Loved this movie.
Great flick. Worth checking out the sequel to.
Good stuff as always guys! The word sounds like depp-thhh depth in case of future comments that are mean, keep up the great and honest reactions
Blunt and Brolin's characters are excellent, but Alejandro is the special effect of the film.
good bad-guy strategy - burn bodies in your backyard in the suburbs - you guys would totally fail as cartel members. And bald-dude is a Delta Force team lead - he has endured things you could never imagine and succeeded.
At this point I'm convinced everyone on planet earth that isn't subscribed has a shame kink and just enjoys Curtis "putting them in their place" 😂
I just watched this for the first time myself about a month ago, hands down one of the best movies I've seen in years
Josh Brolin made flip-flops a big-dick-swingin' power move in this and I love it

I disagree that this is a "slow burn". The pacing was perfect, no wasted scenes. Check out "Wind River" for a masterful slow burn by the same writer - Taylor Sheridan.
if they put down the gun and go home they are going to die anyways, or you get the mission done in the cartel or die
Just noticed something for the first time watching your reaction. Before she agrees, she asks Josh Brolin "Do we get a shot at the guy responsible for today?" So she basically got into the situation the same way Benicio del Toro did, same basic motivation.
As a twin who is not that identical to my brother, I relate. But anyway hope you are going well guys.
Must do Savages. It is kick ass too. Has Benicio in it as well, but in a different type role.
I never get tired of seeing people react to the Revenge killing of his sons and wife before killing him for the first time. It was such a savage moment and something you usually don't see in Movies.

Hey twisted twins, thanks for your reaction to this very good movie.
The reason for the bodies in the walls is as follows: Everyone of the bodies have to be investigated and IDed That takes a lot of manpower There are only so many agents, There is no shortage of cartel Government has budgets The cartel does not.😢
I saw this when it came out, I remember liking it, but it sure was intense.

This movie has one of the best OST ever.
Now watch the second one lol love this movie. One of my favorites
I liked your summation. I agree 👍 💯.
They really should watch Savages, fantastic movie, deals with the cartels as well.
The whole trip to Juarez is also so tense because they're SUCH a giant TARGET, come on, a convoy of matching black SUVs with US Gov plates driving radically together through a border town WITH a giant marked heavily armed sired-screaming police escort, every source and lookout in 5 miles is calling that in to someone, you might as well have flown in with Blackhawks. I guess it's either that or try to blend in so much you don't stand out and rely on security of obscurity, but that's also high risk.
"Finish your meal."
Love this Movie❤
They were shoving a rag in that dudes mouth for water boarding that’s what that sound was
I love how DARK AND GRITTY THIS MOVIE IS
If this would be a realistic setting , the bad guys in the beginning really had no choice to put the gun down. If theyd came back unsucsessfull they would have been the next ones hanging dismembered from an overpass
Great reactions. ohh ball slapping is a thing, it's called hand ball. lol
Every time I see Silvio I think of him saying Shield doesn’t negotiate or Falcon just dropping him off that building. That dude just can’t catch a break with his roles.
Back in the day it was alot worse, to where we couldn't even drive our own cars across the border and if they knew you weren't from there then you'd get robbed or have to pay a fee. If the police realized you weren't from there then they'd track you down to ask you questions and make sure of your identity. Some of the bad people aren't really bad people, they take care of the areas and people in which they live. And in regards to sicarios, they blend in, you don't even know who they are. It's just wild lol
Same director as "Prisoners". The sequel is a worthy watch
The TV's safe.. 😂😂
The water is for waterboarding…popular torture technique mimics the feeling of drowning
