EXO is the 2nd highest revenue generating group for SM this year. They sold some 2.3M+ albums this year, D.O. sales excluded. They have always been the revenue generating machine for SM even tho it's been 9yrs for them

That's BoA the queen of kpop < 3 she opened up SM artists and the rest of Kpop music to Japan basically and was one of the first from SM to go to America for an American debut (from what I remember)

Boa is not from girls generation!!! lmao she's a solo artist and was the actual foundation of kpop, she was the first kpop artist to go international with kpop (me being conflicted about this as a jumping boa-sone-nctzen)

There might be some confusion in the comments saying EXO is SM’s highest selling group or the 2nd. This year, exo is so far has the 2nd highest sales(we’re talking a about album sales only) in SM. However if all the album sales in their career was counted then EXO has, by far, the highest generated sales in SM. What’s amazing is that they’re second when it comes to sale in SM this year, despite ALL their releases this year(Baekhyun’s Bambi album, EXO don’t fight the feeling album and Kyungsoo’s empathy album) being ALL UNPROMOTED. Literally ZERO promotions. EXO’s power is amazing, but also SM’s mismanagements on exo is becoming way more apparent now.

Yes, and if I didn't wrong 2021 is the only year they become 2nd in the company after they became famous, if they have proper promotion, the result will do so much better, and also I don't think they're gonna renew their contract with SM, that's why the company put zero effort to promote EXO :)

I'm not saying EXO is gonna renew their contract with SM and i won't deny the fact about SM mismanagements towards EXO but the fact Baekhyun said he DOESN'T WANT to join SuperM if it's not a PERMANENT group says something. It looks like Baekhyun and Kai are planning to stay in SM. This is just me being honest and logic, not biased. And y'all think renewing contract is just signing paper then finish? No. It's not that easy. It has consequences and it's not small, it's a big consequences. We don't know if SM put a condition in the contract . And EXO themselves can put a condition in the renewal contract if SM wants EXO to stay in SM like how Super Junior did when they renew their contract with SM hence why they got their own label. I don't care if they are gonna stay or not in SM. I''ll support them anyway. But seeing the situation now, them leaving SM is just 50/50. We surely don't know what happened behind the scenes so don't be too sure about EXO leaving SM.

@@knn9117 I wouldn't even try and speculate on what EXO is going to do. I also don't speculate on what SM does with them, or what they think of SM. Seriously, this is how rumors get started and misinformation gets spread. I don't know why SM didn't promote D.O.'s album, but I have to wonder if the lack of promotion isn't something that D.O. himself wanted. He is NOT the type of person to go out and promote himself, especially all on his own (without EXO). He is also hella busy (at least I would assume so), and the vibe of the album, and the vibe of D.O. is low key, chill, no fuss. He has NEVER liked a lot of hype. SM promoted all the other solo artists (except Bambi, which they claim was due to his approaching enlistment...who knows), so why wouldn't they promote D.O.? As for DFTF, that was an album for the fans, it was made to be short and not able to be eligible for awards, and it was light-hearted, and kind of a new style for them. They recorded everything months before the release due to enlistments, and the 4 remaining members active in Korea, are all introverts, and are all pretty busy with side projects. So I am not shocked there was no promotion for it. Who would have talked on those promotions? How would they have done the choreo? I am just not understanding what people expected. SM has let EXO down, no doubt, especially given how successful EXO has been for the company, but I don't think EXO resents them half as much as the fans do. Despite what they do wrong, SM does a lot of things right too, they have the best training program, best vocal coaches, best song selections, best beats....in Kpop. I know that groups leave their companies when it isn't working out, but I don't know if EXO is at that point or not. None of us do. And it isn't as simple as walking away from SM and still being able to carry on as the EXO they are today...Leaving would be a pretty big deal. They aren't going to make any decisions lightly.

Cause his schedule coincided with filming schedules(apparently cause SM couldn’t make a schedule where it wouldn’t overlap.) I respect you not speculating anything. So please remove your speculations on what Kyungsoo himself wants for his career. And what the other exo members intend for their careers or goals for what they release. Fyi Kai and Sehun talks and promotes dftf whenever they can in their shows. Anyways, There were a lot of issues about Kyungsoo’s album promotions even before the title track was released. Such as SM not posting the link to pre-orders and them changing lay out in the last minute. Yes, anything could happen and i wouldn’t supposed exo no matter what they decide.

Wait until EXO in SNSD stage 😭 I realized, This is Not mistreatment but this is Kpop world. Almost 1st gen and 2nd gen are disband and not active anymore but SM group still loyal. Edit : Actually Elf, Sone, EXO L, Reveluv also said about this mistreatment.
