Want gear that I use? Look below!
In this video, i practice a little bushcraft in the woods, make a siberian fire lay, add a bacon rack on my cooking tripod, and make some breakfast at camp! Camping at the bushcraft camp made easy, by creating this sweet cooking tripod, that by the way is still in progress :) Campfire cooking on a warm winter day, good times in the woods.

    Scrambled O another cool video! Glad to see you discovered bank line: cheaper than paracord plus it won’t hang around for a hundred years without rotting in the woods if you leave it out there. Great stuff when you’ve got a lot of lashing to do. Also, the fire pit is looking great! I can’t wait until I’m somewhere I can set up a Base camp in the woods, no spots available to me here at my current duty station. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Dude, I have to say, I have been subscribed to your channel for about a year. Enjoy your videos, this past year I started having panic attacks, which have gotten better. But I have always been able to watch your videos and relax. Also I moved in with a friend of mine who needed a full time babysitter while she works night. You definitely have a future subscriber in her 7 month old, she always enjoys sitting in my lap and watching your videos with me. So thank you for what you do. Jerry

    Another great breakfast there O. Something I've done people all the time through out grills so I snagged the grates out of them. Little welding, little chain and some imagination and you can come up with a great cook system for your camp. Be waiting for your next video have a great day.

    something I have seen others do in their camps was raise the height of their fire reflector which is supposed to act as a chimney to draw the smoke up. I have also seen the Siberian fire lay done where the top logs are touching each other in the front instead of fanned out. nice use of the naan for your breakfast!

    Get 2 pieces of rebar and put them back underneath the rocks on the other side with 9-10 inches sticking out over the fire pit. That should although you to put a small rack or your griddle on them. Then you will be able to push coals under it and what not! Should Work! Have fun! Love your videos!!!

    Next time place the pan under the bacon to catch some fat drippings before cooking the eggs. It'll help prevent sticking. I carried about 2 feet of light duty chain and a couple S hooks to hang my grill from a tripod. Easy to pack, light and most important, adjustable. Great videos, I like the fact that you share as you learn.

    Looks delish! I'll try that here at home! If I may offer a suggestion about your table? If you split those round pieces of wood in half and then lay them alternating flat-side up, flat side down, you will have a much more stable platform. Also, you'll only need half as many pieces of wood!

    i use a small stainless chain and made 4 legs star from the chain that holds the circle shaped grill and from there a single chain that is connected to the four legs is going up the tripot, this way it is stable adjustable and easy to move away when you don't need it, i use it for years now.

    Like everything you did in this video especially the bacon rack. ......... it looked like you've broken your Silky saw . Just remember it only cuts on the pull so when you are pushing forward with it do not push down or get in a hurry. Let the saw do the work and not you . One really cannot speed up a Silky saw it is designed to save your energy. It does that on its own and needs no assistance from you. Once you learn that it will be your best friend because it keeps you warm . Great video !

    bank line is indeed tarred and binds on itself very easily. but being tarred it also lights easily so near fire it could be an issue. also it seperates into 3 strands which make excellent thread to repair tarps and other stuff with.

    The top logs on your Siberian Fire need to be much thicker and longer. Like 6" thick and 6' long or more. As the logs get consumed you just kick the ends of the logs to add more new fuel. Once it's going you don't need to add any more fuel at the bottom. The Siberian Fire is intended to last for hours as you sleep.

  • @EvertfromNederland
    @EvertfromNederland6 жыл бұрын

    You actually don't need a fire reflector if you have a decent Siberian logfire. It shoots the heat forward. Les batoning, no reflector and less maintenance at night make this an ideal wintercamping fire. For more info check out the survival Russia page. I'm a fan. I Think it is awesome that you are using this firelay in this video. I see waaaay to much batonning and reflectorbuilding. It seems redundant
