SIB Fishing Set Up part one- TrueKit Discovery 330

Спорт

SIB Fishing Set Up, how I have my TrueKit Discovery 330 set up for fishing. I've videoed a short look around my SIB to show how I've got things laid out, at the moment I don't want to drill any holes or permanently mount anything.
Any views or ideas are welcome, please comment and let me know👍.

Again a great video, with your transducer mounted will it still read at any kind of speed? When I finally get my engine and get out on the water I am going to put the old lino on the floor as I've heard of a few punctures from fish spines especially bass.

Thanks 🙏, the fish finder reads depth at speed but I get a lot of interference until I slow down, I’m not sure how/if this can be resolved?. Could be a good idea the lino.

Hi mate. Great set up. I've been looking into these boats for some time and wanted some genuine feedback about how they are. How are you going with you boat now and are you happy with your purchase and the quality of the boat?

Hi thanks, I was the same and spent a long time researching different boats but always came back to Truekit. I’ve never owned an inflatable before so I can’t compare it to anything but it seems to be robust and so far I am happy. It goes well with the 9.9 Suzuki on and is very economical. When I originally started to look them I’d emailed Rod Dawson the owner of Truekit and got a price with shipping to the Uk, he did explain that it didn’t include any local taxes, a few weeks after delivery I received a £400 import bill from FedEx which apparently is a government import charge! Typical UK government tax everyone to the hilt!. I’ve now had a trailer made which I’ve got the boat on fully kitted, which I think will use for my usual launch spot, If I go to venues further away I can deflate it and pack it in the car as I’ve been doing so far. I will do a video of the trailer as soon as I can. There are a few other videos on my channel of the boat if you’re interested 👍🏻.

Thanks, the boat prices are here truekit.net/ they’ll fluctuate depending on exchange rates. Engines can be a range of prices depending on whether you choose used 2 stroke or new/used 4 stroke. It seems very good on the juice I’m on my third trip out on a 12 litre fuel tank and there’s still plenty left. I’m not sure how you would exactly calculate the usage.

@@TheHopefulAngler Ok mate thanks. I have got a kayak but I have a bit of shoulder injury and think it's time to get something like you have. Don't want the maintenance headache of larger boat either. So roughly how far offshore do you have to go to reach your fishing ground ? How does it handle a bit of chop ? Any idea of knots potential with that engine on if the weather turns crap ? Thanks & subbed.

@stukyu Thanks for the sub, Ironically that's why I went for a SIB due to a shoulder injury, I still have a Galaxy Cruz which I can manage short trips with but anything bigger my shoulder won't allow me to lift it. My usual fishing area is off the North East coast and a quarter of a mile or less can get you onto rough ground and fish. A few weeks ago I was out over some local marks and was around a mile and a half out kzread.info/dash/bejne/Zaqr0dZmoMiuhc4.html after I'd followed the dolphins down the coast it was quite lumpy heading back against the tide, I just eased off the throttle and took my time and it pushed along with no problem. It skips over chop quite well but being a catamaran hull it does slap a bit, I think I need a few more trips under my belt to be able to fully get an idea how it handles in different conditions. I made the set up video during this trip kzread.info/dash/bejne/dJaNyZeMocvJdbA.html it was flat calm and I managed a top speed of 23.8 mph. There are plenty of choices of SIBs out there, have a look on Facebook for Inflatable Boat Advice - Fun, Fishing and Friendships. SIBs only it's a good group with plenty of advice, there's also f-ribsandsibs.com/ with a wealth of knowledge. Let me know how you get on

Rusty clamps? Why not rail blazers?

Hi, as I say in the video I do not want to drill any holes at this point. I may permanently attach my transducer/rod holders with Railblaza or Scotty mounts as time goes on, but for now I'd rather not drill holes in the transom until I'm happy with that as a permanent position. As used to be the case when I had a new Kayak it would take quite a few trips out to decide on how I wanted things laid out, the same goes for the SIB. I just need more time and good weather to get out there 😀
