It’s weird revisiting this song so long after its release. It kind of reminds me of one of my ex’s. She’d been so traumatised in her life; so many of the times we’d argue she wasn’t even mad at me. Instead she was mad at everything she’d survived and I just happened to be the closest person around. This song really captures that push and pull between vulnerability and the need to protect oneself. I kind of wish I’d heard this when I was with her.
