My grandma used to say that you know someone is a pro when they make you wanna do what they do even when you know that ain’t you. Y’all got me play singing! Love it allllll!!!!!

I have taken vocal lessons before and the instructor was condescending and mean. The experience was not like the pleasant memories I had when I was singing in high school. It has always been a pleasure to witness the tenderness, love, and kindness while being stern towards your students. It leaves a sense you want them to excel and they do. I wish I had you for my music teacher when I was younger. You are fabulous.

I'm trying to work on my lighter mechanism/falsetto/M2/head voice right now, and it's a real challenge for me because I've basically ignored it for 25 years of singing (I'm a baritone, sing the bass lines in choral ensembles, it's just never been expected of me before).

Omg! I tagged you in something the other day saying I joined choir and I was a shy singer and this inspired me!!!! ❤ Tysm!

I'm shy too. When I first did a vocal lesson I didn't want to sing in front of the teacher but she said "I can't help you if you don't sing in front of me" so I did but I'm still shy singing in front of people. I miss my first vocal teacher. I did karaoke with my friends a few months ago, which was fun but I still struggled a bit.

I've got to ask... how do you get yourself use to singing with backing tracks or karaoke to songs. Vocal warms up are great NS and sound fine but when I try to sing to karaoke tracks I feel like any progress I made goes out the window. Advice? xx

cheryl you are amazing, I have jsut started wanting to sing and I never knew what kind of voice I have, I've always been told I have a high pitched voice [for a guy] so I can comfortable belt up to A4/B4 where my voice breaks, but I can make the odd random high pitched noted [usually emualting MJ who I idolised as a kid] and whsilte A6/C7, its very random and sound like cat being strangled. Flasetto is something I cant seem to control, especially between c5-c6, I can hit higher notes through squeaks and strained sounds and especially inspiratroy phonation, but I have zero control at the higher registers. Tryhing this technique you kindly showed, is allowing me to work on my falsetto, but it still sounds very striend and I cant control the scale ie C6-C7
