It is still for the best that he had an older sibling in both homes. I suspect a certain pattern of neglect got him to that point. The older dogs model a happy life, which is gonna do more convincing than all the treats and sweet words ever could.

@@JnEricsonx Taken from mother at six weeks, that guy kept her in a shed as he wanted her to be a “working lurcher”. A neighbour threatened the guy unless he handed over the pup. 2nd guy could not keep her so handed her on to a friend. The friends husband told her to “get rid of the dog or I will” This woman and I have a couple of FB friends in common, so I was contacted by them and given the story. So I took her to save her from ending up injured by a fox or badger or being locked in a shed as a breeding machine. That is so often the case with hounds owned by “certain members” of the lower levels of society

I rescued a very young puppy too, a lot of people just aren't ready to raise an actual baby dog. Mine was also a little over two months old. The first three weeks absolutely exhausted me, but now that the little dude and I have bonded it's one of the closest relationships I've ever had. It's a lot of work but so worth it.

Lily the dog showed how not to overwhelm a puppy. Not by claiming his safe space but by laying in her back out in the open where he could approach and retreat easily.

Jenny, you will be fine. We have a rescue who came out of a hoarding situation at 5 years old. Fortunately, her foster had 3 dogs of their own. Our little girl followed their dogs around & saw the interactions with their person. She became very curious and started interacting also. We had a couple of weeks of letting her get used to us, but after a few months, she definitely took over our household. She demands ALL the belly-rubs & attention she can get....making up for lost time.

He came in contact with people before, they just treated the dog badly. You can tell by his actions. He is such a beautiful boy.
My boy was the same way when I got him. Just not much time with people at that point. I had to lay on the floor and inch towards him. Then he was ok with pets. Now the little sucker is a Velcro dog! 😂❤

Oh sweetie! I got COVID too. The whole month of December and still have respiratory issues. My fear was mother with Dementia would have it too. She did. She only had a intermittent cough and not the grand slam I received. I was so grateful. There’s nothing like taking care of someone with dementia, getting them into the shower every day because of night incontinence that soaks her clothing even with pull ups and pads. I blacked out on the shower floor, the bedroom floor, and prayed for help! Unable to drive myself and her to the urgent care. Brother finally took me. I still had to get her dinner?! 🤷♀️ It was a very very rough time. I could not catch my breath, I was having to exert myself which caused me to have to breathe heavier and then the blackouts! I am so happy your grandmother is alive and well! I am very happy you are alive and well!! 💖🎉💖
My rescue kitty just made biscuits for the first time while I was petting her, it's been 4 months. I was so happy 😊
It's amazing how it just took another dog to calm him. Almost like he needed to hear from another dog that the humans were nice.
"For there is no greater love than a boy for his dog."
This is so special because these are the kind of dogs that can go vicious if they stay scared for too long. I have a lhasa apso that seemed shy and quiet until he bit me. We've been adopting rescues for over 25 years now, and he was the first that ever bit me! Turns out his fear is women, unusual for dogs, but it was verified by a few helpful vet techs that figured it out. He needed quiet, patience, consistency and about 2 years of constant reassurance. He's my little pal now.
He wants to be friends so badly but humans were not kind plus the rescue craziness. Other happy nice pets are the key . Bravo!!
He just had to learn to trust people. And he had good teachers for that.
Such a cute pupper !!♡☆♡

Kudos to all fosters... I would constantly fail...and keep the doggo.
@asheeshsinha2631
Жыл бұрын
That is the issue. You will not constantly fail. You will fail a couple of times and then you will have to stop fostering, which will be bad for dogs in need. Saying this by experience, as I have 6 fails at my house and I don't(can't) foster anymore.
Lily the dig showed hiw not to overwhelm a puppy. Not by claiming his safe space but by laying in her back out in the open where he could approach and retreat easily.
I’m glad he got a good home. He and Lily were so good together. That it’s good that he found a good home with a sweet little boy and his mama another dog that played with him. I’m happy for them and the little doggie.
Breaks my heart when animals fear humans, it makes me want to love them so much more ! Bless him and her!!
There's something about watching & hearing dogs play that's pure dopamine
good humans doing great stuff for amazing dogs. There is hope! Yay for Rolo!
Big dogs can be such a miracle to small dogs if they just have that parental instinct towards them. Just having that protective instinct can do wonders to terrified dogs.
It seems like lilly help this dog build its confidence, the older dog seemed to make him happier and feel more comfortable.
There so adorable together and when he came out of his shell. Showed the little lovebug he truly is

Hi Laura
Dogs want to love and trust. All it takes is patience to get a dog to trust by giving them love and they will come around. A dog is always glad to see you and are always in a good mood after they get over the initial shyness.
I love nothing more than watching a big dog lovingly play with a little one. My 105 lb lab used to get on his back to let my friend’s 10 lb chihuahua wrestle with him, made my heart melt.
Some creep probably abused this dog. At least you found happiness for this baby.
The other dog is beautiful and gorgeous too!🥰🐕🥰

Hello Julie
What was so interesting, even in the beginning, when Rolo was terrified of people, you could see how much he wanted to trust and receive affection by the way his tail wagged.
You could see a huge difference as soon as he started getting to know Lilly the older dog. Just getting a little bit of confidence and plenty of love can go a long way.🥰
Rolo is happy, his furever family adores him. That is all that matters. Such a cutie!
Loves me some Dodo! And you gotta love foster parents who can love unconditionally and still be able to let the animal go forth into its life with another family.
How sad to see such a poor little baby so scared. I'm so glad to see him happy and playful.
The part at 1:17 says it all. That was "I want to play and I trust you" in dog language. So nice to see for a dog that has had some trouble. Thank you to the person that rescued this sweet pup. ❤
It may begin to be repetitive, but I don't care because when I see something beautiful like this I am just going to come out and say this is beautiful... what you people do for these temporarily thrown out Angels is nothing short of miraculous... And there's just something wonderful about a dog in the way date absolutely positively have a soul... Many animals have souls and you can see it... And this little puppy had a wonderful Soul has a wonderful so he's going to have a wonderful life with that family... So on behalf of myself and the rest of humanity LOL LOL thank you for doing everything you're doing

Hi Josephine
Some dogs can take a while to get to know their new humans. I thought my rescue dog was deaf at first but it took about 3 weeks before my dog was able to bark in the house. And then she almost never stop barking 😃
These videos dead ass make me cry happy tears. I watch them daily
What a kissable face!!! He's a keeper. So glad he got a good home.
Bless Lily and Dolly for being so loving to Rollo! ❤️🙏💞🐾
my dog acts like that in the morning, she wont let you get near her but she wags her tail and her eyes are like this doggo, she just likes getting some play time in. she sits on our laps while driving asks permission to chase rabbits and is loved like all past doggos, shes just a weirdo! this dog reminds me of her.
I would be horrible at fostering, after the first one, i would fail, adopt them myself and that would be it. My husband would stop me because he would say, no more dogs.

@Officer Dibble I just ignore them.
My parents adopted a schnauzer who was neglected at the puppy mill. She was scared of people just like this little guy. My dad is a really big dude and she wouldn't go near him. Eventually my dad laid on his back and put his arms and legs in the air. Slowly she approached and, as he put his hands down, she started licking his face. That was it. From then on she was a different dog. She was always extra cautious but she finally knew she was safe.
That's good of you. There needs to be more people like you. Same thing happened to me. My first dog was lonely, and when I got another dog,he was so happy. I love my Duke and daisy
I love seeing happy dog butts so much 😭💕 he was waggin that tail so much 💕
What a little cutie pie! Thank you for saving him!!!
I could never be a foster. After investing that much time I would just keep them all.
My dog Sasha is a rescue and had very similar behavior in the beginning. Now she won't stop asking for rubs and cuddles.
I stopped by our local shelter to inquire about volunteering. My son want's to do volunteer work with animals. While I was there, you can't help but notice all the animals. Sitting in cold cages, on cold concrete and waiting. Some make it out, most don't. They have a "first in, first out' policy. If they have room for 200 animals, when the 201st comes in, the oldest resident gets put down. When I got the paperwork I left in tears. Just heart crushing. So many little guys like this never see the outside again. I told my son that if he gets selected, he needs to be prepared for the harsh reality of life. So I guess my message is this: PLEASE don't buy pets from retail. Go to a shelter and choose a dog or cat or both and give them a chance. And when if you become unable to keep your pet for whatever reason, try to find a home for them. Remember that if you take them to a shelter, it's a death sentence for one of the current residents. They can only hold so many. They do the best they can and if they only have 199 animals they will take as many as they can to get to max. But no more.
Aww he is soo cute
