I've really enjoyed the way conversations on leadership have shifted over the last 5 years or so.

Shuva is a new word in my vocabulary and I'm embracing it. Everyone is searching to be seen, heard, understood, valued and appreciated.

I love that idea. SHUVAing our seniors makes such a huge difference in their lives and we also gain so much from their wisdom. So true we don’t send enough SHUVA their way. I think I might write a post about it.

Patty nailed it. We all have the fundamental human need to be seen, heard, understood, validated, and appreciated. This is the secret sauce to transform fear into acceptance and cooperation. Love it.

I am absolutely amazed at how well your formula works Patty! I had a snarky middle-schooler a couple weeks ago. Next time I have his class I will use this and let HIM be heard.

Who will you SHUVA today?

I like this, but I feel like the 'quiet quitting' epidemic also has a lot to do with workers being monetarily undervalued, rather than emotionally. I have friends who went through extensive schooling only to be making close to minimum wage in their desired field.

Wow I wish my workplace would embrace this, it's such a boys club, the connection aspect is severely lacking

sorry to hear that. I came up with SHUVA to help the guys and some women that don't "get' how to connect but you have to be motivated to do it, and to reach outside your normal circle.

I'm all for equations and logic, but bringing love into the mix? Not sure about that. Still, the idea of Shuva seems intriguing, at the very least.

Can business and love be used in the same line?

Unfortunately, the production manager quit that week, and they only had an intern. The intern did not record my audio feed into it's own track. Instead it went out into the pa then into the recording. Video also should have had 3 camera angles. So disappointing but I'm doing the best I can with what I got and considering if I can reproduce it somehow.

I can't help but feel like some of the things that make up SHUVA are really obvious? Makes me wonder how people get into leadership roles without these skills to begin with.
