Awesome job and Great review! This Beta 87A although I know little about microphones, seems to be a semi hybrid combining a few of the strengths of a dynamic mic into this cardioid. Essentially sounds like a warmer cardioid. Love the sound of it! Looking forward to the vocals. Thank you.....

Nope. Both mics have a super cardioid pick-up pattern. The Beta 58 is a dynamic mic, while the 87 is a condenser mic.

Wow! We've been using Beta 58's at my church for years. Definitely something to think about.

This was the first comparison of 58 and 87 where I could actually appreciate the $100 dollar upgrade price. Totally worth it for me and a singer. Thank you.

Yes! There’s a big difference in quality comparing these two systems. For sure, the 87A sounds much better! Great video! Props!

A Ham radio setup nearby shouldn't be a problem unless he was transmitting in your frequency band (which is illegal and could get his license revoked). If it was him, it is part of his responsibility's to help you fix whatever the problem is. Good review!

@Worship Tutorials What gain level do you have your receiver at? Db level? Great voice btw!

The other battery is called the SB900

The weak point of these mics is the positive battery contacts. We've had our QLX-D system for ~3 years and have had to replace 5 battery trays so far due to broken contacts. We had our previous Shure mics for ~10 years with never an issue with battery contacts.

If you mean via network audio such as Dante, then no, you cannot. There are other methods to connect it to a computer, one way of doing that would be to use a Shure x2u, or similar xlr to usb interface.
