It was such a beautiful day when this dance was going on. My young son and many relatives danced and sang together in Peace and Harmony. The way life should be all across the lands world wide. HOPI the peaceful people

I'm glad we still have most of our ceremonies, however with the way things are going with our youth, I'm afraid we will lose what we have as well .

It's very interesting how people can cross a Dancers path. In diné ceremonies people cannot do this especially if dancer is masked. Still this is very beautiful dance reminds me of laguna and Santo Domingo styles🥰❤

At Hopi, most dances are open. But if a sign says closed, don’t try to enter. It used to be when the Hopis do our dances (Laguna), no one but Indians could see it. Now they open it. At Laguna and other villages out in New Mexico, you have to look for signs. A lot of times guards are posted. Just be respectful, don’t ask a lot of questions. Enjoy the songs and dances, and pray with your heart. Don’t worry about understanding everything. When we see dances from other tribes, we don’t understand it all. But, we know it’s for the good of all, and that’s good enough.

It’s a very pretty dance. But why should the dancers dress nice? The singers and people watching should put some color on. Jeans and a black T-shirt isn’t working. My great -aunt from Supaulovi later in life didn’t care to see dances much. Hardly anybody dressed up nice. Always say it’s too hot. At Encinal village in Laguna, everyone makes an effort. Even a nice polo shirt with a turquoise necklace. When I dance, if I see more people making an effort to dress nice to watch the dance, it makes me feel good dancing. When everyone feels good, then the clouds come with the shiwanna, and everyone prays for rain.
