honorable mention : Dan in MVC2 has a "reverse" raging demon, you even have to input it backwards (HP, LK, back, Jab Jab) it also leaves his health bar depleted, with one pixel of life.

Morrigan has one as well in MVC2 I think it's reversed input and she drops a bed on the stage. Chun Li's from marvel super heros vs Capcom is an aerial kick that pauses animation and displays Chinese/Japanese Kanji. Not sure what final mission is.

@@antarbenson9328 both of those moves are in mvc1, they also put that chun li move in TvC but it's a level 1 super with a normal input. Morrigans in input is LP,MK,back,MP,HK then she shoots a slow moving, unlockable heart. In the dark stalker games and cvs2 Morrigans darkness illusion is done with a raging demon input

Poor Dan can't catch a break, he is the only one whose Raging Demon can be deflected.

It's the only one that can be deflected because he wasn't the one doing it. He summons his dead dad to do it. He was actually a good fighter, causing Sagat to lose that eye.

He's literally Ebisu, the happy deity, once was a destruction one and then all into happines and prosperoty deity. Big's so chill and all but can rip off the existence if someone mess him.

Iggy's variation has the kanji for "dog" in the game's code (similar to how Akuma has the "heaven" kanji show up), but for some reason it's left unused.

From what I remember, Dan's Demon has the kanji for "father" on his ghost dad's back, and Squigly (Skullgirls) shows the kanji for "salt"; her version is called "Shun Goku Salt-su", hence the kanji.

The concept of B. Hayato being implemented as a Raging Demon is absolutely badass.

Guess like Akuma had his own dojo after all

I think everyone here agrees that the mario on the thumbnail atracted us all to this mission.

I love the fact that Dan was shown as able to do the Raging Demon in this video. I mean in the Street Fighter comics, Dan actually can use the Raging Demon, so he certainly has the potential, although the one time he tried pulling it off, he tripped over Sakura's schoolbag, preventing it from happening. Honestly the MvC2 super he has, Otoko Michi, (which translates to Manly Path) is a pretty neat way to say he invented his own style of it, even if it leaves him at 1% health after using it.

@@DDBT-nk7lq That was why I specified that in the comics, Dan ACTUALLY can use the Raging Demon, because in this video, he needs to summon his father to do it, so it's still Dan's move to summon someone who can do it, just not Dan himself. But yeah, I admit I probably been more specific, so I apologize for the confusion there.

I know it's not a fighting game, but Okami has a Shun Goku Satsu reference too. After you free Kamiki Village, if you speak to Mrs. Orange at night, she'll make cherry cakes (mochi) for Amaterasu, and strike the Shun Goku Satsu pose (down to the same sound effects), and instead of the "Heaven" kanji on her back, it shows the kanji for "mochi".

Fun fact: in the data for Jojo: Heritage for the Future, there is an unused graphic for the kanji for “Dog,” which does look similar to the traditional “Heaven” kanji. It was likely meant to be used for Iggy’s Raging Demon.

The funny thing about Yuri is that she's kind of a knock-off of Sakura, who's kind of a knock-off of... Yuri!?! Wait, what? (Yuri came first, and Sakura kinda copied Yuri's design elements. SNK and Capcom kinda had this character war going, with Dan being a knock-off of Robert, and Yuri going on to steal a LOT of Sakura's moves and mannerisms might have been a result of that.)

as a Mario main in Dong Dong Never Die, lemme tell ya, his Demon is pretty damn busted. can easily carry you through the whole games arcade mode. even the post final boss bonus fights which contain multiple foes get boned by this, because if you grab one, they ALL get hit by the demon regardless of position on screen. fun stuff.

Yeah mario demon is one of the stupidest moves ever made 0 startup frames, can combo into it, can hit you in blockstun for an inescapable confirm on block, can hit you in the air, can cancel into itself, builds a ton of meter you don't even have to do the demon input properly either, because of the way the game reads inputs you can just mash forward + LP + LK + HP and it'll give you the demon The only weaknesses are that it causes severe damage scaling due to how many hits it deals and the fact that it has no post-freeze invincibility meaning it will trade with meaty buttons, but most of the time when you trade you're still at a decent advantage because it will pop the opponent up.

Dan (Gem Fighter) also has an alternate version where you can see some of the hits taking place. One is the HCB + S and the other is PP=>KS

Dan actually has canonically tapped into the Satsui No Hado which means he absolutely can use the Raging Demon. Unfortunately, the first time he used it, he tripped over Sakura's backpack and failed. Meaning that Dan himself is so powerful the universe balanced him out by cursing him with idiocy

The one for skullgirls (Squigly’s Rage of the Dragon) is actually a secret blockbuster (super) requiring you to taunt and charge up 1 of the stance attacks to unleash Salt. In addition, it’s a Lv5, so you need the full meter.

Pom has one in Them's Fightin' Herds as her level 3 super, the difference being that it's a counter rather than the normal Raging Demon input.

Oh man, I remember when MVC2 came out I was going through Hayato's move list. I was a big fan of the character but didn't know where he came from and when I did his Raging Demon I was floored. A friend of mine was like "Oh yeah that's Dark Hayato, he's in Plasma Sword". I HAD to seek out that game to play it just to see. Was well worth it

It's because that's the playable version of Shin Akuma, who has extremely nerfed defence compared to his CPU boss counterpart, yet he still deals insane damage if used right. Same applies to God Rugal.

Everybody wants to be Akuma.
