Mikan, this one of the best videos yet. Why? Because it shows one of elements that makes so many Japanese bands so wonderful. Tuning. Learning to listen to one another until intonation becomes an unconscious act of musicianship. This one of the major reasons Japanese bands are musically superior to most American high school bands . Thanks for showing Mitos' warm up. These young ladies are such fine musicians, I tend to forget that they are teen age girls. That's another thing I like about this video - seeing them talk and laugh like teenage girls on the short breaks. It reminds how far they have come in their young lives. So I honor these girls of Mito and their director for their fine program and Mikan for the hard work of educating so many Americans about the quality of Japanese high school bands. Thank you all!

Amazing!!! Thank you for the upload!! First time to watch the warm up from Japanese school band!! And it is a wonderful warm up, learning how to blend into others. Many of them know more than 1 instrument!!! 1 plays sopranino/soprano clarinet, 1 plays soprano/alto clarinet, 1 plays soprano/alto saxophone!! What a surprise is: a girl plays flute/oboe!! Another plays bass/contrabass clarinet!! So talented!! And this band has the most complete clarinet section I have ever seen: sopranino, soprano, alto and bass!!

A very nice concert. I especially enjoyed the unique arrangement of “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” The principal trumpet player is very talented!

This the first video I've seen of this delightful band and already I'm a huge fan!! But who are they? Great to see the girls just being themselves before and during the tune-up followed by a wonderfully polished performance of some challenging material.Special mention must go to their MD/Conductor whose nicely relaxed manner clearly brings out the best in his talented charges and also to Mikan for what is one of the Best band videos I have ever seen! A Happy Valentine Day to all those in or connected with the Band,I look forward to more performances in the future.

You can hear and see the joy these youngsters play . You can hear and see the love these people have for music . To me Japan is a different world when it comes to music and maybe Japan is a different world in other aspects too . I trully believe that . lots of things going on with this band if you don't watch carefully its easy missed quick change of instrument etc love the walk in sing sing sing and they are so relaxed .

Wow, this was just before the Corona virus began to take hold and stop future performance events from occurring. Terrible for these beautiful and gifted artists. The world was deprived of seeing more of their musical contribution. They are so delightful to watch. Actually, all Mito (Women) performances are amazing and awe-inspiring through current late 2022 streams. Thank You Mito Women of all ages. Thank You Mikan for such wonderful work. I feel like I'm in the room with the students. So beautiful. 👍🏽👍🏽

Thank you for your first? concert under a new constellation. There is again a piece of music which sounds like a chorale (the piece starting with the solo trumpet). Do anybody know the name of the piece of music? Arigatoo gozaimasu from Germany (Europe) - unfortunately the center of the European area is now a little bit south-easter (51 km) in between Germany. Wenn sie Hunger haben sollten, werden sie sicherlich zurückkommen :). コロナウイルスの影響で全国の吹奏楽部が活動自粛している最中、このバンドのこのメンバーの音楽がとても聴きたくなりました。 練習を再開したそうですが、次の公演はいつだろう。８月の”そ・ら・ら”公演は、今年もあるのだろうか・・・。 今回ステージに上がらなかったクラリネットさんのパフォーマンスもまた見たい。

クラリネットパートが前回のOPAより上手になって居ると思います！！あと、フルートが一本しかないのに響きを巻き込んで音がはっきり聞こえる！フルートの子もとても上手！ラッパのトップの子は高い音も力任せじゃなくて上品な音の出し方で良いですね！！

コロナで外出自粛の今、MIKANさんの動画は大変ありがたいアイテムです。それにしても海外コメント多い。日本の吹奏楽の魅力の発信に貢献ですね。
MIKAN様、UPありがとうございました。生徒さんたちの集中力というか心地よい緊張感まで伝わってくるような臨場感あふれる映像ですね。 水戸女子の皆さん素晴らしい演奏ありがとうございました。離れたところから耳元まで飛び込んでくるような金管の音色。見事なロングトーン。華やかなダンスパフォーマンスなど見所いっぱいのステージです。生で見たお客さんがうらやましい。
