Jai Shri Ram I had a practice of chanting Shri Ram Raksha Strotra daily. However once a thought came to me “I can only do some general chanting like take Raam Naam etc.I need not chant Shri Ram Raksha Strotra specifically” Hence I discontinued it. After a month I got a dream in which I was chanting Shri Ram Raksha Strotra with a relative sitting besides me. In the dream I was chanting Shri Ram Raksha Stotra and during the chanting (In the dream) , forgot the last few lines of the strotra and my relative mentioned that I have become forgetful. I then remembered the lines and in the phase between dream and waking state , as I was rising from the bed, I completed the last few lines of the strotra. The experience was so intense that I resumed the unbroken daily chanting of Shri Ram Raksha Strotra Thanks

This is the mantra that Ramachandra Prabhu Himself provided to Samarth Ramdas, the spiritual Guru of Chhatrapati Shivaji. Samarth Ramdas was the Avatar of Anjaneya Himself in parts and he was given the Deeksha by Prabhu Himself. He single handedly propagated Ramayana Paat and installed Anjaneya prathishta in many places. He prayed to Lord Ram for an able Kshatriya to redeem India from the Mughal yoke. Lord Rama provided a Kaashaya Vastram to Samarth Ramdas that still flies as the saffron Flag all over the country. If one wants to learn of this uplifting Avatar of Anjaneya, one can watch Balaji Bhagavatar's multi part discourse on Samarth Ramdas. Unfortunately it is available only in Tamil. The same Mantra is given to aspiring jeevatmas who visit Bapa Ramdas's Ashram at Kasaraode in Kerala.

Good piece of information. Had heard of Sadhna that Swamji had performed for six months in early hours of day, with his body till waist immersed in Lake water. Due to this sadhna, later he blessed, Jijamata with son who was avtaar of Hanuman Ji!! But, you have provided very detailed information. Thanks for sharing!!

Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram Part 1 lecture by Balaji Bhagavatar on Samartha Ramdas Swamy • Salutations to Guru Parampara. Dakshina MoorthyShankaracharya- Totakacharya-Gnananda Giri • Location Jamb near Nasik, Maharashtra. • Suryaji Panth And Ranu Bhai were pious couple. Suryaji Panth Was Kulkarni by profession and Surya Narayana worshipper, who did Surya Namaskara, Aditya Hridayam etc as part of his daily puja routine. Ranu Bhai was related to Eknath. Ramachandra Prabhu was their family deity during daily rituals. • They begged God for progeny. Surya Narayana appeared in Suryaji Panth’s dream and advised him that he would get two male children. The first would be erudite and follow his family puja traditions. The second would be sarva sreshta and be a beacon of hope for hordes of people. • First boy was Gangadhar. The second boy was born 3 years later. He was born with a small tail like protrusion. He was called Narayana. Year of birth of this second son was 1608 and was contemporary to Tukaram. • Narayana was born on Taitra Shukla Navami (Ram Navami) around noon. (later called Swami Ramdas) • Eknath blessed the family. • Gangadhar was smart and easily mastered everything he was taught. • Narayana was precocious and extremely naughty. Never ending string of questions. Would not sit quiet except during puja. He had Aksharabhyasam at the age of 3 and Gayatri initiation at 5. • He was taught to write on palm leaf. The first attempt resulted in a torn leaf. The boy just stuck the leaf back and the tear vanished. • He was so naughty that the mother admonished him to be of use to the family. Narayana went to a shop and lifted a heavy sack of wheat and brought it home. The sack had to be carried by two adults normally. The shop keeper was asked to take it back. When the sack was taken away, another sack appeared there in its place. Smattering of his divine powers were seen. These incidents were recorded by Giridhar Swamy his later disciple, who recorded that Riddhi and Siddhi resided at Narayana’s feet. (it was noted that he did not make a roti or kaupeenam or dhoti ever appear through his powers but always begged for food throughout his life, even when he was made Rashtra Guru by Shivaji Maharaj) • The boys lost their father early. Narayana was then taught by Suryaji Panth’s student who observed that the boy would not sit still. He would run, climb trees and leap from trees as the teacher taught him. • After the loss of his father, Narayana became more contemplative. Gangadhar told him that Suryaji Panth had reached Lord Rama and if he wanted to see Lord Rama, he had to be initiated into Ram Mantra and he would then have to do saadhanas to have Lord Rama’s Darshan. Gangadhar advised that as Narayana was naughty, he would not initiate him then and therefore he had to wait. • Narayana had witnessed various villagers discuss the state of the times; of cruel mlecchas who ruled the area and caused immense pain and hardship to Hindus through destruction of temples, forced conversions, rape, murder etc. • Narayana was overpowered by a desire to help and he was convinced that Lord Rama would take steps to alleviate the sorry state of affairs. He was below 10 then. • At 12, Ranu Bhai tried to force him to marry. Narayana would not even hear of it. • One day, she made him promise that he would wear formal wedding gear, listen to Shastris and he would not move till 8 lagnashtaka mantras were chanted at the wedding location. (what remained then was only the removal of pardha and mangalya dharana). Narayana agreed. The girl was his first cousin (Ranu Bhai’s brother’s child) • Narayana did as he promised. As soon as the 8th stanza of the mantra was chanted, he got up and took off. He dived into the river and swam off. No one could catch him. • Ranu bhai was sad. Gangadhar had warned her earlier, after studying Narayana’s horoscope. Gangadhar was by then married and he reassured his mother that Narayana would be OK and no harm would come to him. • Narayana swam to Panchavati/Nasik. Reached Kaala Ram and Gora Ram temples. • At Kaala Ram temple, he broke down and begged The Lord to give him Darshan. • He stayed in a cave. He had nothing more than a loin cloth. He ate by Biksha at no more than 5 houses each day and ate only once. • He would get up at 3 AM, Do his pratasandhya, then 1200 Surya Namaskaram then stand waist deep in water and carry out Gayatri Parascharanam (Arkhyam for 1/10th of chants, Homa for 1/100th of chants etc) • Surya Narayana appeared one day and advised Narayana that Narayana would not have darshan of Lord Rama until he worshipped Anjaneya as Rudra Swaroopa and the greatest devotee of Lord Rama. • Young Narayana then fervently worshipped Anjaneya , who appeared and refused to initiate him into mantra. Anjaneya said “Do not worry. I will request Lord Rama Himself to give you the mantra and appear to you” • In Ecstacy Narayana composed the fantastic hymn “Swamy Maaza Brahmachary” End of lecture one. My notes will never bring out the beauty of the lecture, interspaced with songs and with the fervour of a great upanyasakar.

Yes, very good. Even better is the sanskrit version which pronounces Rama and not Ram (which is Hindi not sanskrit), and adds Om (Ramdas version): Sree Raama Jai Raama Jai Jai Raama Om Sree Raama Jai Raama Jai Jai Raama Om.

Yes it is a very powerful mantra..it can do wonders in our lives If constantly chanted.. personally experienced immense blessings...

I was doubting the miracles and power of this mantra, today I was mentally and physically very weak, after chanting only 5 minutes, I feel so calm, as if I have received all that I could ask for. Satisfaction, which cant be found in this material world. This mantra like hare krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare hare ram hare ram ram ram hare hare, has the ability to fix even demi gods, what to speak of human beings. Jay shree ram!

Yes, very good. Even better is the sanskrit version which pronounces Rama and not Ram (which is Hindi not sanskrit), and adds Om (Papa Ramdas version): Sree Raama Jai Raama Jai Jai Raama Om Sree Raama Jai Raama Jai Jai Raama Om.
