When I started on Devdas, I was not even 16. My parents did a lot for me. I was welcomed on Devdas and it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali who spotted me on Saregama, a music show on TV and he liked the voice. He kept me in mind for one and a half hours and had the concept of Devdas. He was doing Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam at the time. He was doing the pre-production part of Devdas and that is how I got in touch with him. He heard me singing from two inches.
