There is a theory that dragon used to be a princess who was turned into a dragon and that's the reason she can't speak because every other fairy tale creature has the ability to speak except dragon.

I remember a student in my college course (I teach) who said I should watch this and I was thinking she was crazy. She said to trust her, that it was very funny, and not just for children. When I watched it I saw why. Plus, a lot of the music was very familiar to me.

After this are three sequels and two spinoffs, all of which are enjoyable. Mike Myers uses a similar voice to Shrek in the Austin Powers sequels, though the character is more villainous. Other movies starring Eddie Murphy I recommend watching are 48 Hrs, Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop, The Golden Child and Coming to America

I don't think Live Action Shrek would work. I get where you're coming from, as there were so many bad ideas for live action and this is a great movie. But so much of the humor comes from all the other cartoon references, add in the ogres being main characters and you've got to use a LOT of CGI, at which point it might as well be animated.

hmmm the first movie that i was traumatized by when i was like 8 was a thriller where a girl answers a roomate wanted ad and then systematically starts stealing her identity and dressing up as her the scene that got me though was where the psycho tries to seduce the roomates BF and he finds out and as he's trying to leave she kills him with her stilleto heels

But talking about Disney movies you haven't seen I highly recommend you to watch The Emperors New Groove (2000).
