Such a logical movie and hats off to Raj Kapoor and all who contributed to such movies at that time.. I am 26 and in 2017 but still I find.these movies so meaningful and logical..Big fan of Raj Kapoor and these type of movies

Even over the years, this Movie Shree 420, is still evergreen. Memories are made of these. Where are the good old years ?

What a fantastic movie! Compelling viewing from start to finish. Raj Kapoor & Nargis are rightly lauded for their outstanding performances but so should the beautiful Nadira as the selfish socialite, Maya, and Lalita Pawar as the mother figure. A film that highlights the divide between the spoilt high-society rich and the dignified poor. Superb songs, superb lyrics & superb music by Shankar-Jaikishan. They don't make films like this anymore. Or maybe they can't. Sadly. At least, we can go back and watch classics such as this masterpiece.

shilendra (lyricist) ji also deseves the appriciation for world class lyrics in this movie.

I am now 69. In the time of Raj Kapor and Nargis I made good money like scalper on this movie in my former country Romania! So nice to see and hear this Legendary Actors and Singers! Watched this movies last night (this was my 2nd Raj Kapoor film which I've watched, the first being Mera Naam Joker). Shree 420 despite being released in 1955, the dialogues and situations in the movie are still relevant after almost 70 years. A movie which has sureshot aged well with time. The movie depicts life of Indians just after almost 7-8 years of independence from the Britishers but it's relevant even today.
