something i was taught by KJ Sawka of pendulum...work on your singles...start of with 1/4 notes play 4 bars, then switch to 8th notes play 4 bars, then switch back to 1/4 notes . do this with a metronome, increase by 5bpm to start every 2 mins...you will really notice a difference not only in your consistency but in technique as well. spend 15 mins a day on this and you will see improvement quickly. when you ready then increase your start tempo for say 60 bpm to 70bpm....it will push you to reach higher speeds while maintaining the consistence and power of your stroke. If you decide to get a double kick you can then add 16ths into the exercise too. good luck.. have subbed :)
