Just a quick comment about the weight of the speakers. The Honda OEM speakers have neodymium magnets which are much lighter for the same magnetic power as equivalent powered ceramic magnets (in the Show Chrome model). One of the main reasons modern speakers systems are lighter these days overall.
@mikew85526 жыл бұрын
I noticed that these are two way speakers, mid-range and tweeter. You will probably need an equalizer at the least to tailor the sound to take advantage of the new speakers. You already have one set of tweeters OEM so you may end up disconnecting those. An amp might also help. Bigger magnets sometimes need more power to get the same deflection. I'll bet the base will be killer with more power. BTW, I finally got out this weekend. Had to shovel snowbanks to get the bike out but it was worth it.

@ashleysevere39206 жыл бұрын
They both sound good but it’s hard to really compare with out the cover on the OEM. Because your new speakers have the tweeters playing in the center. The OEM did not. So the new ones will automatically sound better. I did the same thing with my upgrade but I had to reorder speakers without the teeeter in the center. Because it made the treble too dominate at any setting

Chris just looked them up says waterproof great. Also says 3ohm so if you crank it and the radio cuts off radio may over heat that’s why it’s a bit louder, depending how far of a tolerance , that may be why. Add a 60- 80HZ High pass passive filter to protect it and put some polyfill material behind the speaker. I noticed the RMS is 40 watts. Check in your owners manual for the specs on your radio. I want to say the stock radio may not push those. enough. OH well you know what that means????Amplifier upgrade...

The OEM Speakers are 3.8ohm, the one's Chris just installed are 3ohm. That is not enough drop in ohms to cause over heating problems, as a matter of fact a lot of aftermarket manufacturers are doing this to draw a little bit more from the factory system safely. And those Speakers have built in Cross-overs. But I do agree the Poly Fill will help.
@pedroc6823
6 жыл бұрын
The Cross over on the speaker is for the tweeter not the Mid bass. That' why I suggested minimum 60Hz HP, at 12db per octave there are still lower frequencies but they roll off safely at that slope reducing bass distortion that, this speaker cannot produce. . The Amplifier is not a true stable power supply it uses inexpensive capacitors un like after market amplifiers that are stable. I have never tested a stock factory amplifier that was even close to its specs, I can say the same for most over inflated after market amplifiers, that's why you have to choose wisely. Most Amplifiers Max spec 1KHZ. You are not getting anything near close that you think you are. That's why I posted a link above.

Different speakers have different sensitivity, so its kinda pointless to do a loudness test at a certain volume. Your best bet is to turn it all the way to max for a moment or two and then see what db they put out. Stock speakers are always really high in sensitive that way people think they are louder than they really are but once you turn that volume up to max or close they start to distort and can't handle the wattage

My oem have been removed and installed many many times over the bikes 17 years and finally the plastic became brittle then snapped a plastic hook/snap. I contacted show chrome and they offered me a replacement at $24 plus whatever shipping for the one right side piece for a part that was inadequate in comparison to the factory oem. No thanks. So Buyer Be Ware of show chrome customer service. I also purchased the show chrome upper fairing wind reflectors and the vent seems to do nothing at all in regards to allowing any air flow no matter the position. I'd never recommend these upper wind deflectors period unless you ride only cold weather then they may help with that some.
