A limited number of PS2 games did support progressive scan 480p output, including God of War. Though it's hard to tell if that's happening here, since PS2 video output can often be so dark as to feel like a glaucoma simulator.

I remember when my mom bought me this legendary console after crying for it for weeks begging her everyday to buy me one, when I got one I played it for hours after school, then whole day on weekends only stopping to eat and sleep. We only had one crt tv back then and whenever my sister wants to watch tv we had to fight for it, I always lose and everytime I always tell her I wished I was a only child,that's how powerful it was(love you ate:*)To this day I still remember it vividly. Thank for this vid, it was really nostalgic. That sims 2 clip/soundtrack almost made me cry from nostalgia.

About the framerate: you may want to take the PS2 apart to clean it up from the inside and to change the cooling paste. There is a very good change that it has never been properly maintained in all those years

The ending of the game thou, thats a real test.

I still remember reading the one page preview on God of War in GameInformer and when it said the game opened with a guy killing himself by jumping off a cliff and you play through how he got there I was ALL IN! Every game in the series since that moment has only reinforced it.

Shadow of the Colossus still looks great on a CRT tv with analog AV cables btw. PS2 on a modern TVs is like a messy soup of pixels.

Yeah, either CRT for the most accurate experience, but a good HDMI adapter makes the games really clean.

I would never have been allowed to play God of War when I had a PlayStation. I had to pretend Metal Gear Solid was a racing game to persuade my mum to buy it for me, and I had not a clue how to play it. Nice touch with the Ask Jeeves search...oh the memories. I can honestly say that few gaming experiences will ever beat those days of playing Worms Armageddon with my friends - that for me was the pinnacle of PlayStation games. We each had our own teams and could play it for hours. Crash Team Racing was pretty fun too, and my dad was suspiciously good at it (to this day I'm convinced he practised by himself after we went to bed).

YES! NIER AUTOMATA! Can't wait!!! I've been posting on all your videos to play Nier A. I'm so happy. I'll stop now.

Love it when you sing. Sometimes I even prefer her versions of the songs, e.g. her version of "footloose" is cooler than the original in my opinion. As always, amazing video, so keep up with all that great stuff, The Greatest Coworking Couple of all time.

Silent Hill 2 is such a masterpiece, glad to see it still gets praise even 18 years later! My nerdy young self couldn't help but make a short film on it many years ago hahaha... Somehow it still gets views. The PS2 had such an awesome library of games! Also it's funny that you brought up the fuzzy picture because I had the same problem going back to play some old games recently. This is why I like "HD upgrades" because it doesn't hurt my eyeballs. Even Wii games aren't HD which is also mind blowing since it sold around the same time as PS3 and 360. It just sucks when shitty companies cough "KONAMI" cough do lazy ass shitty HD ports cough "SILENT HILL COLLECTION" cough that plays worse than the original just as a cash grab.

I still have my ps2 as well, and works like a dream too. Wish we could go back to the days when you got a full a game then constant updates.

The true masterpiece of PS2 was Metal Gear Snake Eater. Man that game was good. And the Boss... She was by far the best NPC ever created. Her face, physic, body language, dialogues, demeanor, storyline, voice, everything about her was unbelievably good. All in all PS2 was the most memorable console ever.

Man that dunkey mimicry was itself a MASTAAAPEECE
