    I agree with you, but there is an issue that I have not seen discussed much that creates a problem for those, like me, whose investments are predominantly in IRAs. Foreign company stocks typically have foreign taxes withheld from their dividends, whereas domestic companies do not. If you hold these in an IRA you cannot take a foreign tax credit for these withheld foreign taxes. Once I realised this I sold all my foreign stocks in my IRAs.

    SandP is up 15%. International is up 20%. Remember though that a lot US companies do business overseas, so it can be argued you already have international exposure.

    Foreign stock index funds have nice dividends.

    How long will it take international to regain what they lost too US investments? That's 277%! You can honestly say it will recover that 277% in the next 10-15 years? . I'll roll the US. Admittedly, I started investing 10+ yes ago and have never (outside VTSAX) held international stocks and will more than likely not hold them.
