I met a guy at the gas station. I stopped and asked him a lot of questions about renting & owning a truck. He said he had 4 other drivers working for him right now. He said to promise him if I started to please rent a truck. He said that's how he scaled. You know what's funny? I watch this video and you damn near say the same thing. Thank you for the insight

So my question is what if it takes you months before you start bringing in any money? Your wasting money on a rental. From what I've seen, it's not that east to land a contract if your a new carrier. I would think it would be better to buy a used van and at least you don't have a monthly payment 🤷🏿‍♂️

Literally what I am faced with right now. I rented with Fluid and did OTR for about a month and had a fat mileage bill so I ended up returning it. I think maybe leasing is the way to go as long as there are no mileage stipulations.

Great info here which I'm going to use. Thank you! I wanted to ask how the per mile rates have reacted to the rising cost of fuel (cpm). And if it's caused a + or - in net income, all else being equal. Is the margin keeping pace ? Would be a good video too.

Good info bro. I'm renting but I'm about to take it back it costs me 1k a week plus .35cents per mile. It's killing my profits.

Yea time for an adjustment im looking at financing hotshot trucks and leasing trailers much cheaper option, can run a 32ft trailer with no cdl and dont have to worry about height clearances

@@truckingempire563 I was thinking of something similar. I have a pickup truck already I just need the trailer. I got a load from Chicago to Iowa 2 days ago paying $1,200 but I couldn't find anything coming back except relay loads but I did see a ton of hotshot trailer loads coming out of Iowa.

I’m trying to do this I’m tired of getting laid off from the type of work I do.. I just wanna work and stay working but I need some type of motivation.

I wondered that as well. I'm not sleeping at a hotel either. I rented a Ram Promaster and slept in the front seat (rough!) but if I had bought one, there's options to turn the front two seats into a bed. But with a box truck, how?! I'm sure he made do though
