Oh no! I've been in vacation mode for a while due to some extenuating circumstances. I didn't want to extend my processing time, because I was unsure whether that would work out. Thank goodness I do have new products ready to go. I hope that helps. Thanks for this video.

Yes, sometimes you need to put your shop on vacation mode, and that’s ok! I hope the tips at the end are helpful for when you open up again!

Ha. Wish I had know this before. Started my shop November, two weeks later I had to leave to take care of my very sick sister for 2 weeks. Couldn't carry wreaths with me so placed shop into vacay mode. Guess it didn't help anyway since still trying to get a sale. Have people marking items as their faves but no sales. Almost ready to just give up especially when I do a search with my own tag words and my items don't come up. 😖🤔 sigh.

In the beginning, you will want to drive as much traffic on your own as you can. The fact that you are getting favorites is great! That means people are finding your listings! There are lots of factors that go into making a sale. First you need the shoppers to find your listings. Then you need your listings to convert to a sale. If it helps, having a conversion rate of 1-3% is totally normal. So for every 100 people that click on your listing, you’ll make 1-3 sales. Having said that, new shops need to focus on getting eyeballs to their listings as much as possible. Once you start making sales, your listings will start to rank a little higher in search. I hope that helps 😊

Thank you for the information I do have one question… How much in advance can you put in for vacation??? another words if I’m going to go on vacation from the middle of July to the end of July do I have to wait till a couple of days before that to put in for it ??? or can I go ahead and put it in on July 1 for that time for it to kick in on the dates that I need??? You can put your shop on vacation whenever you want! It happens instantly when you slide over that vacation mode tab.

Not sure if you answered this in another video already, but what do you recommend to do once a seasonal listing has expired? Continue to renew all year or wait a few months before renewing?

I’ll be having a baby next week (nov 26)- do you think it’s best to still extend my processing time in this case or should I go on a vacation mode? I also want to add I’m one sale away from earning the star seller badge so I hate to go on vacation mode but I don’t know how things will be baby wise lol

I think in your case I’d go on vacation mode. Once you see how things are going with your new baby (congrats by the way! That’s so exciting!!) then you can open back up.

My shop is 3 years old, I have to take 3 weeks vacation. Will it ruin my shop? Thanks

No, just do the tips I give you in the later part of the video, and you should be fine. You’ll just need to work a little extra on getting outside traffic when you first get back.

Curious, do you have help or do you make all of your wreaths yourself? How do you fulfill so many orders in one month? How many wreaths can you make in a month?

I make them all myself. I work a lot 😆, but I love it. It really depends on the wreaths I’m making, how long it takes. I think my busiest month I made about 300, and so had to stop restocking some because it was getting too hard to keep up with orders at that pace. But I usually make around 100-200 a month right now.

I didn’t notice a difference or anything my clients were literally waiting for me when I reopened but I am a tarot reader I don’t ship out products through the mail maybe that’s what it was. But I swear they was all waiting for me 😂🫣

That’s great! If you have an engaged audience and a good customer base, there should be no real problem putting your shop on vacation mode. The main source of traffic at first when you come back will be from your own traffic and not as much organic traffic from Etsy’s algorithm.
