  • @MirandaDetailing

Hi. So unfortunately I have found that carfax means absolutely nothing. I had a “clean carfax” on a few vehicles I have owned and found out that panels had been repainted and damage was found on the vehicle but it was never reported on the carfax. The carfax is only as good as the people reporting things on their vehicle. It’s the same as car insurance, very inconsistent and unreliable. I wish it wasn’t true, but it is. 😞

I’de like to ask a question about the glass protection. For years I’ve been using turtle wax ceramic spray as a rain x type treatment and it’s worked fantastic! It lasts for months too. One day last summer I decided to use actual rain x- which didn’t work, and ever since then I have not been able to apply the ceramic spray with any success. I’ve tried cleaning and even buffing the windshield with polish. Still no luck, the product won’t stick and water does not bead off anymore. Any ideas?

I use Carpro Ceriglass and the glass pad,, mist some water on one side and put Ceriglass on pad. I put a + of product on pad. Polish top have of one side then anouther + on pad and do bottom of of the one side. Go to other side and repeat. Clean well with running water. If water sheets you have polished it well, if not polish again. Rinse glass with water really well. Dry perfectly dry. And I mean perfectly dry. But not just glass, everything around it too. Especially get any moisture in mouldings. I use an air hose. Now clean with isopropyl alcohol. I use a 50/50 mixture of 99% isopropyl and distilled water. Now put on your hydrophobic glass coating, a coating dedicated for glass. This procedure has worked for me for the last 5 or 6 years on hundreds of windshields in my glass shop.

Hi Phil! Kudos on another great auto detailing video! I'm not a pro detailer, just a lady that wants to keep her ride clean and pristine. Mon - Fri my car/daily driver goes through a lot of dusty, agricultural areas and each day it's covered with a light blanket of dust. As a result, I rinse it daily and wipe it off, however, I only wash it once a week. I use the Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray Wax to protect it and that helps to make cleaning the exterior easy. Questions...Should I rinse my car daily with an APC (to get rid of the dust and grime) vs plain water or should I wait to use the APC only as a pre-rinse before washing my car? I understand that P& S's Dreamaker is great for repelling dust, would you recommend that I get some? Please advise.

  • @MirandaDetailing

AS long as your vehicle isnt too dirty you can rinse and dry off and even use a quick detailer to aid in drying and add a little protection. the Dream Maker is a perfect detailer for that. Don't use the APC unless you are doing a full deep cleaning. APC rinsing is just for initial details and not for maintenance because its too strong and it weakens protection you applied.

Nope! Still see an outline in the black trim. It must be extremely soft paint and clear. I didn't want to get aggressive with it because it could be same material as B pillars. Had to leave it alone.
