Best steam review so far: ''I'm extremely conflicted on this game, and even though I've played 120 hours at the time of the review, I feel like I was always addicted to the promise of the game and very rarely the game itself. The structure of the game has all the right components to bring the MMO FPS to life in a real way. It's in many ways what Tarkov claimed it would be but never was, and much the same it takes a lot of the themes of simulating the daily life of a Stalker just trying to make a living that a lot of Stalker fans crave. However it's the little things that add up over time that have very little to do with the format itself that start to take it's toll. That's why it's difficult to review this game, but I'll try my best to describe what ultimately adds up to why I've stopped playing this game. The most obvious problem is something that, like most F2P games, only becomes more obvious as you play for longer. This game has a Korean style enhancement system for armor and weapons. Granted this system is obsequious right now as it's fairly easy to get your equipment to the current +5 maximum, and in that sense it seems unobtrusive and people largely don't think about it, but the Russian server has a much higher maximum enhancement for gear, and with that comes an RNG KMMO style luck grind for higher enhancement gear. The system in it's current state now is simply like the frog in the boiling pot, where they slowly increase the F2P heat until you don't even realize you're in boiling water. I've seen this too many times and I don't want to be here when the water starts to boil. This is also the case for artifacts to a certain extent but I think you get the idea already. This leads into another point: weapon balance and power. The primary goal of the game is to obtain higher tiers of gear. Enhancement will in the future become the primary gatekeeper for gear, but for now it's simply getting to the highest "tree" of gear. Even then it becomes very apparent how critical this can be in deciding the outcome of a firefight. The current standout weapon is the VSS Vintorez, which is just about what everyone in the current endgame is either trying to farm and is currently using the VAL waiting to turn it into the VSS, or already has the VSS. The VSS is functionally an assault rifle but with a 1.5x headshot multiplier. Functionally it melts people at all ranges faster than anything else. Gear being such an important component of PVP is just not a good system in my opinion, but that brings us to our next point. Hostile player encounters aren't always strict 1v1 in the sense that you both know you're there and you're waiting to make your move, so in that sense having the strongest gear doesn't always guarantee victory. Much of the game is getting the drop on the other person, and sometimes that system flourishes well. I would say one of the if not the best areas for that is an area called the dump. This area is primarily comprised of stalkers and bandits in equal measure. Every blip that indicates a person is near could just as easily be a friend or a foe. It's a careful ballet of completing objectives, scoping out the area and being on guard. There are safe exits for both factions and dangerous exits that're faster for reaching your base. I would say the dump really emphasizes the game at it's strongest points and when I truly felt like the games strengths truly shined. Unfortunately that brief glimmer ends very quickly, and you're once again consigned to mostly safe herbivore environments where only griefers who have no real reason to be there will kill you rarely, and you're largely clearing boring POI's with bad AI, running around anomaly clusters, scanning the ground with metal detectors, the truest essence of the "kill boar camp" style of automatically generated questing. Still, with that said, it's a necessary component of the game that, with the right amount of enemy stalker tension, can still make the experience of farming enjoyable, but that subtle mixture between making it too boring or too frustrating rarely meets in the middle to make it a well designed experience (like I said, basically only the dump). Other areas tend to not capture that appeal because they're simply designed different, or designed poorly. Once you get far enough into the game you join a subfaction which will pit you against people who might have formerly been your allies. This system however is horrifically implemented because the herbivore areas that otherwise were mindless farming instead become a system of exit camping and prairie dogging out of underground zones. Picture yourself farming up a bunch of stuff and some guy pops out of a level changer to kill you and runs back to his base underground to auction your stuff, but it happens just rarely enough that you don't really want to scout EVERY single time you get a blip that someone is nearby. Regardless of how bad this sounds to you, understand that it's simply objectively worse than two sides converging on opposite ends of the map. Level changers should NOT be a large component of the fight. The next part is the northern section of the map, where both subfactions must exit through the same level changers to enter and leave. Again, this creates the same problem where people can simply prairie dog through the exits, either deliberately or accidentally because opposition factions enter and leave through the same area. This is simply put, a bad system. where hours a farming can be undone by a person simply apparating in front of you at the wrong time. For a game that already had the system handled so perfectly it's bizarre and unnerving that the endgame undoes it so badly. The developers just slap an ungodly amount of vortex anomalies everywhere all over the entire map. Once you're used to them they rarely kill you, and when you're careful and cautious you can easily avoid them, but what they do successfully is just annoy you constantly. They slow you down when you have to literally run kilometers from place to place constantly, they trap you in place when you're busy with something else like trying to kite a mutant or run from another person, and above all else they seem to misunderstand what anomalies are supposed to accomplish. Anomaly fields where you carefully navigate the area to collect artifacts is a system that made sense and worked. They deformed the environment and created an interesting puzzle for the player to navigate. Those still exist in Stalcraft, but that's primarily the bulk of how they should be used. Anomalies should not be literally everywhere. The only thing adding tons of vortex anomalies everywhere accomplishes is making you constantly, at all times when running, throw bolts in front of you or simply slow down and bleed for one second when you get caught in them, or get unlikely and get attacked by a massive aggro radius boar and get ping ponged back into the vortex until you die. I would go on but I'm certain the archaic character limit has already been reached, so I'll end with this. The game has promise, but it's built upon the seed of a predatory F2P model that will bloom into a monster that's already present on the RU server, and the design decisions over time have become too burdensome for me to bear.''

Nah bro, the dude that complained on steam was really just complaining that it is not Stalker and not Minecraft. It has themes and concepts from them, but it is really its own game. Like when he said that players would hide behind "level changers"(I really think he was just talking about how someone snuck on him by hiding behind a hill) and kill him, and I am just like, bruh if you were to get in and get out of mission areas quickly enough while being aware, you wouldn't get snuck on as often. It's one thing to complain, it's another to blame the development of a game because of its core mechanics working right and people using it towards their advantage.

Game at some point becomes running Simulator. You have to run 15min just to be killed from anomaly, npc or most likely pvp. Some quest I didn't progress for 2h because I was dying on the way. There are quests which you have to do at enemy terytory. There was one quest which took me over 25 min of walking and you have to either hide from playera or do pvp and then everyone will know you are in location and hunt you. If you die you have to run 25 min again. Dying 4-5 times on the way and you have urge to destroy keyboard and unistall this game.

Just remember, if you run into any problems in a game you only have to do one thing to get trough it: GIT GUD

The overtuned PvP really kills the game at the moment. I started playing with 9 others, but I am the only one remaining. I hope they will someday fix that issue. Automatic backpack auctioning would be the best fix in my opinion. Dying in a test of skill in far regions and losing the time it took to run there is fine, but losing everything from an hour-long farm session to a camper you didn't see while checking the remaining 350 corners and angles you could get shot from gets old instantly. It's really disrespectful towards the player's time. Well, I guess I'll just log in daily to get trade coins until something happens to counter the campers/PvVers/hackers. My time is better spent playing games where I am not punished for having bad luck or not being an FPS god playing at 300% all the time with a side of retalin. An ESP would be really nice just to avoid bullshit camper deaths or coked-up PvVers who just want to ruin my fun. (PvV = Player versus Victim, the situation where the attacker is at an obvious advantage, because he has nothing to loose and will get the drop on whomever due to laying and waiting. Might as well go and steal candy from babies if the above satisfies you.)

Great review! I have loved this game so far, only 9 hours in, and can’t wait to hop into the exclusion zone everyone I turn my PC on!

I highly recommend playing Stalker GAMMA. It is amazing. It is more difficult and progressing is a challenge. It is single player but the atmosphere and depth of the world totally makes up for it. I probably have thousands of hours in that game alone.

I highly recommend Stalker Call of Prypiat, Shadow of Chernobyle, Clear Sky. These games didnt aged well (controlls and performance) but the athmosphere and story are on another level and can keep up with modern games easily. The mod community is also on another level.

Really good video I would of loved to watch this when i was debating to play this game, it would of really pushed me to try it sooner.

I keep getting side tracked by crafting new guns and kitting them out, and then I go get more supplies and do it all over again lol. Or on my way to get crafting mats, I end up finding an artifact or something.

You need to check out Stalker Gamma if you haven't already as that is the best version of a Stalker game IMO(single player), but Stalcraft is the best Stalker game for Multiplayer. Great vid man.

I think the biggest problem with Stalcraft for me is well the quest and pvp...yea I know it sounds weird but hear me out. The quest themselves aren't bad for the most part...the main problem though is the location...seriously some of those quest locations are horrible as they force you deep into enemy lines or travel a long distance, for a newbie, it is a goddam nightmare to complete these quest as 9/10 they will always be a player with much better gear and kill you, it's a terrible I hate it. Speaking of which the PVP shouldn't be allowed in the first area period or at least move the quest closer to the main base...I am sorry, wtf were they thinking? Since, some of the earlier quest force you to travel a great distance away from your main base...near the enemy base...yea figure out the problem? It isn't fun getting ass blasted for just trying to play the game, it's not friendly to newbies what to so ever, the second area I can kind of get but my goodness...one of the main quests in the second area...is right next to the enemy base...next to the enemy spawn...just why? Also yea, there is a clear bias between bandits and stalkers...so yea, there's that.

PLEASE do not let this slander your opinion on the normal stalker franchise this game is SO grindy if you want a free experience like this but not a repetitive mmo search for stalker gamma for anomaly I prefer anomaly and find the steps on how to download it online they are free and a MUCH better experience then this grindfest Edit Watched more of the review and I don’t believe the game having hundreds of hours of gameplay is a good thing I would rather play a good 10 hour game then have a grind fest of several hundred hours of monotony, the pvp only gets fun at high levels because you will never win any gunfights with other players unless your high level, even then people camp EVERYWHERE and you have no chance to fight back

Over 4000 hours 5k kills and 9k deaths, i must say its so great, the only game i learned little russian language. Gave me trust issues and made me use my brain instead of killing anyone on sight.

The tutorial never mentioned anything about crafting. Unless youre talking about the mechanic just putting tiny %upgrades on your guns, no in game materials have mentioned anything further. Also everything is a giga bullet sponge. Which makes me feel like the guns are just weak, not fun. Pvp seems really imbalanced, i run into enemies in the girst area with guns and armor i have no idea how to acquire, tanking entire magazines when i have the jump on them and then killing me in a single mag through a ceramic plate. I have a lot of experience with shooters but the pvp just does not feel good.

1:36 ... anomalies..spawnkillers...campers.. and tbh, being stalker is 25-35% easier

The game is decent and the idea is good, but it has a lot of issues 5/10 wouldn't recommend at this stage. Upsides: - gameplay is good - story is great - there's a lot to do - it's kinda forgiving when you die (you will die) - ambient is good - a lot of PvE and PvP - a lot of gear and weapon choices - a lot of loot everywhere - almost no cheaters Biggest downsides: - close to the best items in the game you get through quests which kills the incentive of grinding for other gear yourself - picking a faction deletes all your active quests without any warning (lost hours of progress) - a lot of pay to win stuff through events - doesn't matter which faction you pick (all basically the same) Other downsides: - a lot of the things aren't explained anywhere and the tutorial sucks really bad - few annoying bugs - constant forced PvP - rifts that instantly kill you are too hard to see - the Premium is too expensive, 10$/month - Stalcoins that you can buy with real money don't have any discounts for buying in bulk

The only upside to picking a faction is the very last weapons/armor that you can get in the game. But the difference between those and 1 tier below is almost negligable. So unless you're farming the very last weapons and armor then it's worthless to pick a faction because it will make you hostile to more players in the earlier areas. My original point was though that there is no difference in picking factions. E.G. Mercenaries are the same as Covenant. You don't get anything special from either. @@G4FT3R

funny I was just playing stalker C.O.P n then started browsing steam discovery queue for my free cards and then I saw this game n was like wtf.. this game was made for me... funny cuz I use mods on stalker so it doesn't load really on steam so I don't have much hrs logged on steam.

I just don’t understand why it’s pvp. The Stalker games it’s based on aren’t. When I first saw it on Steam I got excited because I’m a huge stalker fan and it looked really cool. A mixture of Stalker and Minecraft seemed really neat and I was ready to give it a go. Then I read the reviews about new players being spawn killed by experienced players and it killed my desire to play. I’m a working adult and don’t have the time to get super good at multiplayer games any more. I want to hop on, loot some stuff and kill some mutants and that’s it. I don’t want to face off against sweaty teenagers who spend every waking minute playing the game.

80 hours on the game stuck at the bar cant even get back into the bar from farming... every single mat run ive died to pickle farmer/camper guy always yoinks my backpack and sells back for 400k and im not even wearing 400k worth of gear and i have like 19 alpha framents in the backpack and he wants 400k after griefing me on MY side of the bar when i just wasted 2 hours getting caught by 2 INVISIBLE VORTEXES and then i get griefed on my side of the bar by an exoskeleton duo que and i have green tier gear STILL because i cant get mats to get anything... why are 2 exoskeletons in my server im not even progressed far enough into the storyline and im bar 4... im only trying to get back into the bar to store my shit ya no im done this game is trash

Dude this is not a Review, more like subjective overview. This game is not rewarding and u waste a lot of time grinding items cuz and the end of some main quests u get OP gear better than the one you where grinding for, for soo much time. U can get 1 tapped by a high lvl dude out from nowhere in lower lvl area and loose all your loot. Overall this game is not fun.

Misions in this game are also trash. Very unbalanced not forgiving, bugged, badly designed and annoying. Sometimes u just need to bug a monster to kill it cuz otherwise u just wount be able to in one day. Sometimes u need to know what the missions are beforehand to get the right gun and stuff or ur f***ed. Other times parkour is like a "Getting over it" game where by not your but game's mechanics u just reset and waste even more time.

I spent 1200 hours in RU servers and i say after first 150 hours game easily can go to the trash.I hate it and still play it

600h+ Stalkers/Bandits Steam *demo* game and Russian game i play all this, great game but when pvp part come is worst i ever see enemy bases too close the "BAR" is one big problem most of time you can`t leave without get killed 20 times for 5min people just love to camping all quest npc/areas exits no fast travel / some people just have so much HATE in this game they love to ruined your game. Farming 1-2h items and trying to survive all time pvp to can get killed just before base entry. And when sub faction come then become more worst. One of my characters have 1400+ player kills and this is only from defending myself :) so many times i revive enemy 9 of 10 times they killed me in return after i revive them... what to say. Most funny deaths i have was in this game running from 4 bloodsuckers avoiding bullets from 1 player 2 dogs coming to join that fight and what? I step into black hole.....If only they edit pvp part of game or add PvE server because game dying now from 40k players when i was start they are 1-3-4k online.... Night time when most people trying to farm items because of low population that pvp system ruined all of this players just waiting you to finish you farming and coming to home so 10-20 enemy waiting for you to can get all yours items and vanish...OHH i forgot about CHEATERS...... this game like many others just what to say YOU know....

I like the game before I arrived to bar fought minstrel after a while came up with idea to venture to yellow zones etc .. the more I go there the more this game pisses me off every fucking time I'm outnumbered or outgunned it's just pointless game

You say in the video that the game made to keep the player playing more and more but you don't mention that it doesn't make it in a "fun" way. You say that you love being able to make squads of 5 and stuff but you don't mention it is just a stupid design to make it very un-fun for solo players to matchmake them with 5-man squads. You say PvP is this good and that good but you don't talk about the fact that game puts you in servers with players with much higher tier gear than you. I can make the list longer but don't want to be that negative. I just want to point out that the game has almost %50-50 good and bads. It is not even close to being perfect.

and where is the prove that you have played 500h+ ?

​@@fonesrphunny7242 my stream was live on twitch 24/7 actively playing 14 to 18 hours a day, Just a tip of advice guys before both of yall call "BS" or even question what a person is saying at least investigate a little to see if they really BSing or talking facts, there are vods of my streams available on twitch but if thats not enough you can check my profile for yourselfs in the stalcraft game its "Deathgun" NA server, and if thats also not enough you can come hang out on my twitch i will be live for another 8 to 10 hours tomorrow as i close in on 700 hours played between both my accounts :)

yeah... i do not believe you actually played 500 hours in a month. on average there is 730 hours in a month. subtracting your 500 leaves only 230 hours. divided by the monthly average of 30 days, leaves only 7 ish hours a day left for anything else.

u must not know my streams lol, when i go hard i go hard i was playing about 18 hours or more every day for a month just like we doing now lol over n twitch during the event, although now i do like 14 hours

.....did you get paid to say this?....you got paid didn't you....cuz I play the game and it's crafting is not "truly amazing" it's farming the zones till you get enough items and buying it at the store while also using the stuff you farmed....

Wish i got payed for this review, i play over 8 to 10 hours daily on twitch so i meant what i said lol, the crafting is amazing, i love the fact i can build a gun in the first part of the game and through crafting and exploring i can upgrade it and "evolve" it as i progress with the game allowing me to carry guns i made in the start all the way to the end game. many games make weapons u start with or craft early obsolete by the time u get to end game, as for the material grind, its literally an MMORPG its supposed to take hours and hours of farming to get stuff
