Clubhouse Games 51 has most of Amico's type of library on one cartridge. Why do we need an expensive gateway to games which are already available in many versions for free or cheap in current e-shops? We don't.

I clicked on this video because the title legitimately made me laugh out loud. EDIT: after watching the video, I just wanna remind everyone that the Nintendo Switch exists.

I feel sorry for the kid that asked for a Switch for Christmas and gets an Amico instead. Kids these days are playing games like Fortnite, they would look at those Amico games and say the same thing us Adults are saying about them "They look lame". There is nothing that justifies the $250 price point of that system when you can get a Switch or Xbox Series S that have a far better gaming library and only costs $50 more. Plenty of high quality cheap games can be found on both Nintendo eShop and Xbox store.

FYI. Nintendo is selling refurb Switch's for $259. So the amico is only $10 cheaper.

@@ezg2000 Yeah, but with no games and the joycons which are nothing compare to a real controller. Plus, each Switch game costs range from $5 to $60 depending on what you want, and $15 additional to be able to play online. The Amico comes with 6 packed-in games and 2 controllers, and also additional games are $9.99 or less. Huge difference.

@@josueperez5381 I disagree. For $259 you can buy the console. For $20 you can buy some 3rd party controllers. I am not a big fan of the joycons but they are better than phones. You can buy Arcade Party for $20 (a comp of casual games pool, darts, bowling, and cornhole. Over 10 mini games. Up to 6 players) That game and many more offer local co op. So now you are in for $299. Tommy said that if you want the true amico experience you need to buy controllers which are $60 a piece.

@@ezg2000 In regards to the controllers, Tommy said Intellivision is open to 3rd party made controllers and accesories. So maybe more cheap prices for controllers? Too early to tell and compare. The switch was released in 2017.

@@josueperez5381 Yes. But tommynis on record just last month saying "the action, role playing, and adventure games work best with the stick controllers. Using anything else will limit the game experience." So if people want to get their $250 worth they need amico controllers.

The Amico will be the Quibi of consoles.

it is exactly as expected. i dont know what u talk about in the video. we all knew it was not a triple a games system. we also knew it was more games that looks like mobile phone games. its not different than what we were expecting at all. it is also advertised as a casual gaming system. nothing new here. for your nephews , you could simply have the old intellivision system or anything else would do instead of spend 249$ on this you could just have a raspberry with thousands of games or even a mini system would do. there are many other options out there which cost much less and are better. so , should u buy the amico ? not at all.

You know what it needs to be a fun entertaining console? Karaoke

Good video. I think it's way overpriced. If it was $99 or at least $120, it maybe ok. At $249, that's $50 cheaper than the Switch. Also, Nintendo is selling refurb Switch's for $259. So the price point is almost equal.

Negative as usual you leave out nintendo switch has no games included at $299 so $50 more and your still gameless. And you won't be playing any games past 2 player another thing you leave it every time. And what's even more funny is how you have zero problems with playdate which is more expensive than a refurbished switch lite. Another thing you seem to not discuss. You should try actually playing a game and stop trolling it's very dishonest and immature.

i disagree about the switch comment but to be fair the amico e3 presentation was more than underwhelming. just the other day i saw an eta prime review for a $30 Onn Android TV Box from walmart. the similar games on that android box looked way better in quality compared to amico. $30 tv box!

You can get a used switch for less than that.

This is DOA. Why do they not design the console so that it will play the old Intellivision cartridges from yesteryear? Or if they can get the licences together they could include an in-built emulator and game library of all releases for the old system? I could see myself dropping money for that. But the way this is marketed... no, thank you!

No it's a complete rip off, I honestly wouldn't buy it for £30. Me and my family would get 10 times more use and enjoyment out of a new game for a console we already own.

Way overpriced. To those that bought it, hope it lives up to what you are expecting. By the way before you know it your Nephews will get older and will demo right out of their target audience.

If it played old school Intellivision games, I'd buy it.

Knowing "what it is and what it isn't" is the best way to go about the Amico. Sounds like you get it even though you do not have any interest in the system. Refreshing to watch a video like this. Great video man.

Or buy a switch

Neat idea with terrible execution. Those controllers are gonna be the death of it. The evercade Vs is a much better design for a simple home console. If Evercade can get some good indie developers on board for the VS and make some simple but fun games for it...they will eat the Amico alive.

Overpriced, underwhelming, uncreative and unnecessary.

Board games will suck as "video games". So will orange juice suck when judged as a beer. Amico is not interested in marketing to serious video game players. @@PuzZLeR_00 You are the first person I have heard describe it in this way, and it is a stretch. Again, if that is the case then Intellivision's marketing has done a poor job conveying that pitch. Coupled with the fact that your beloved TT has gone to great lengths to invite himself onto every channel he can to strawman, and lie about other companies, especially Nintendo, your point doesn't hold up. This new spin of not competing with the successful companies is just more desperate banter. TT will throw anything at the wall in the hope something sticks.

Solid and honest assessment. I've been interested in this for a while and while it has more I think "I" will enjoy I can totally understand why many including yourself would be skeptical if you would play it yourself. I think it really comes down to people getting their hands on it and "then" deciding based off how much fun their having whether they would get enough use out of it to invest in one. They are going to have to find a way to get Kiosks out there so people can experience it for themselves or find friends who pulled the trigger on one to convince a larger audience its worthwhile I suspect and thats coming from the viewpoint of someone whos been a fan for a while.

As a 50 yr old I could see myself playing with my Mom and Dad and wifee maybe some friends who are not game savy heck they don't even know how to use a smartphone. At 250 its a bit steeper that what I would pay but understand what Intellivision is try hard to do. The controllers are say unique its like an ipod or MS Zune with a base and +8 extra controllers. I believe to make this a better device bring in some better multiplayer chames, bring back a 10 player Bomberman like with the Sega Saturn & 8 player tap or Gauntlet with 4+ player onthe same screen bashing!!

Thanks for the video. I've been a fan of the Amico for the past two years. It's not just the concept of a newer couch co op that appeals to me. The team behind it has a lot of passion for this project, and that can really make a difference in the quality of a system as well as the games for that system. It'll be interesting to see how things pan out in October when it's set to launch. Thanks again, and keep up the good videos.

Why would anyone buy this? Let's do a comparison... $40 for Club House Games on the Switch that gives you 51 games versus $250 that gives you 6 similar games? xD There's nothing that a current gen console can't offer that this already does. It's a waste of money for any consumer with a current gen console.

What if one had all of the consoles ever made, why not add to the collection? Why would anyone buy this, waste of money? Well its not your call nor your money per say. The Wii was the best family oriented console geared toward the family or people casual games, fun for all not just FPS like the majority 80% are now playing

Greetings. Fair review. And, just to be honest, I'm an Amico fan here giving my thoughts. If you're a serious, or Hardcore Gamer, then I say, Dude, get a PS, or Xbox. No question. Amico is not all about that. This is the system you bring out when non-gamer GrandMa comes over. Or, when you have small kids and don't want "content". It's for retirement homes where the sweet good ol' folks want to kill a little time with each other. It's also for people like me, a former Hardcore Gamer, who no longer has time to play video games some 2-10 hours a day. This fits the bill for me. I know that it gets lots of criticism. Most of it is from Hardcore Gamers who don't understand it. They come off like beer drinkers dumping on an orange juice product. Seriously. They need a life IMO. What they don't understand is that non-gamer GrandMa will not play their games with them without any torture. It's really that simple. However, this GrandMa is MUCH more likely to play cartoony cute simple games like what Amico has to offer. Thanks for the vid.

@@joshua.snyder It's "low hanging fruit" my friend - the early niche market (ie: Intellivision/Retro Hardcores) to generate initial interest, some early cash flow, and to build that bridge across the chasm to the real market. And it's not a "poor marketing job". It's a "non-marketing job" since they haven't started to market it yet to this audience in any real way until the console is ready. Yes, the delays suck, and, as a fan I will say that there may have been some underestimation on the part of Intellivision regarding this, but the marketing as of this moment has not been ready to be judged if it sucks or not yet. Dude, I know you're down on this thing. Let me say something for you to think about. Stop looking at it like a "video game console". It's much more in line to be marketed as a product like board games are. (Notice? Board game fans play in the same room together, and are passionate about this.) Think about this a moment. Cheers.

@@PuzZLeR_00 I addressed this in another comment. This new spin of calling it a type of boardgame just doesn't hold up. The market already has many games to suite this niche, and it is Amico's ineptness in getting to this space which is the issue. We have months and countless interviews of Tallarico attacking Nintendo, etc. with dishonesty and strawmen. He wants Intellivision to be a competitor to the successful companies, he just doesn't have the balls to say it, instead trying to sneak in the backdoor of the market via "family gaming". 🙄 At this point I call "bull" on these claims of "Intellivision hasn't even started marketing." Truth is they've bled out their marketing budget with overhead and carry costs. Tommy thought his months of grassroots pandering for interviews would build momentum on the cheap and they haven't. Everytime he opens his mouth and says "We have something huge happening!" it flops or turns out to be nothing. Every time.

Tommy's been talking about the popularity of board games and how that social interraction is still very relevant today, and this is the experience he wants to deliver with Amico, not some hardcore gaming experience. The real marketing hasn't begun. No, it hasn't. You only see the early introductory stuff, and you still think it's some competitor to Nintendo. The negativity towards this system is understandable because it's judged as an option for Hardcore Gamers at this stage. It won't in the long run when it's ready to be sold.

If they think they can just wipe the slate, flip the script and win over nursing homes and soccer mom's in the 11th hour, they are in for more rude awakenings. You seem fairly thoughtful and able to express your thoughts well. Surprising you can't see the serious lack of self-awareness of Intellivision, TT and the small handful of old men lapping up his hot air.

It still costs less than a mobile phone, the games are fairly cheap and they look quite nice 🤷🏻‍♂️

My oldest kid is 3 so this console might actually be worth it to get them into gaming. It all comes down to the games though.

you could buy an old atari 2600 or intellivision or sega genesis or something similar for 50 bucks with a bunch of games and would do the trick. there are many options out there and u dont need an amico for this.

Well said your coverage is fair and balanced. Not a system everyone will want but definitely good for families on a budget that are not heavily into gaming.aybe something parents will actually play with their kids together. I did actually play it in Texas and enjoyed it. Will it replace my switch? No but I feel it's something I would play more of with my niece and nephews which are all under 7
