    All I was saying is that people should not expect to get 4 or 5 of these promos when the limit is one or two usually. Also, when Lego gives out 4 or 5 promo's like that to one person then it drys up their available stock and then they run out before the time frame and other paying customers cannot get these promo's and that is not fair or good. Yes, it is good to offer free items and it does cause people to spend more but if one person is getting all those free items and others can't even get one then it becomes bad I think. So, I was not saying or implying that you are Greedy I apologize if you took it that way. But as you know there are people out there that are just trying to get a lot of these promos for free and then resell then on eBay or wherever and that is not good. I believe that it should be fair and just for everyone. I personally have been collecting Lego for almost 20 years and I have missed out on free items due to Lego running out of stock after only a day. It is frustrating and I don't like to hear people always crapping on lego. Yes, Lego has made mistakes and they need to be told about those mistakes but regarding these free promo's it should be fair for everyone. As for me " having Problems" well that comment triggered me because that is not true. I was just voicing my opinion and frustration which we all have done a time or two in our lives. All that aside I do like your channel and I respect you opinions and the valid points you made and I have no problem with you.

    Well said! A thoughtful, measured and gracious response to the comment. Words are powerful, they can build someone up or tear someone down. Criticism in the form of feedback just like you said can be helpful but the destructive kind is hurtful. Thank you for sharing, a great reminder that when we criticize we should consider is our feedback, true, helpful and kind. And you are spot on about the gift with purchases 👏

    When you said everyone has bald tires in Atlanta you are so right. It must be a GA thing. Every time I'm in a parking lot in North GA I see several cars with bald tires. People wonder why they crash when it rains. When I lived in NY they had a yearly safety inspection and you wouldn't pass with bald tires. GA just has emmissions testing.

    It would be nice if LEGO would offer some of these more popular and sought after gift with purchase sets for sale at a later date, maybe six to nine months after they were originally a GWP. For instance, the Forest Hideout, Blacktron Cruiser, the recent space baby set and now the May 4th promo. It would give the true fans a chance to get a set they had initially missed out on or wanted multiple copies of, it would (hopefully) de-incentivize the scalpers to rip people off and it would add to LEGO’s profits.

    Recently, they have been doing that to a degree. The Blacktron Cruiser and Houses of the World were re-released and several others. There are particular ones tied to sets though, and I can't recall those being re-released.

    LEGO know what they are doing, if they lost money on the GWP they would have actually enforced the muted rule or most likely just stopped pushing them. But I guess when they mess up they can default to that rule when customers ask what's happening with "my" GWP. To call it greedy from the customers side is a far stretch. I my self mostly only buy from LEGO if they have a good offer, a good GWP or it's only available from LEGO as retailers like Smyths typically have the sets for a much lover price (even with the VIP points calculated in).

    I only order from Lego if there is a gwp, imo it’s not worth paying full price for most sets at Lego without an incentive. I rarely ever pay retail for a set except for gwp

    At least for this May the fourth the terms and conditions state "Limit One Per Household". I understand there is inconsistency on Lego's part with the GWPs with actually restricting the one per household limit, but in my opinion there isn't really any room to complain that you didn't get more than one GWP because that is outlined in the rules. I agree the use of the word free is misused a lot.

  • @brickcats
    @brickcatsАй бұрын

    If you're buying LEGO and not getting the GWP when you otherwise have the option to (assuming you don't actively NOT want the GWP), you're essentially overpaying. The price of the GWP is already built into the price of the set. LEGO, like any other business, isn't giving things away for free in the first place.

    Yup, I had an incomplete order and somehow communication was difficult the seller couldn't get the missing parts after many back and forth. In the end he reimbursed me for the missing parts based on my (honest) assessment and in my opinion a positive outcome. Took 3 months in total, but since I didn't feel he was deliberately trying to cheat me we just kept ploughing towards a resolution.

    We have gone full meta, criticizing criticizing of criticizing! The only time I have a problem with people criticizing LEGO as a company is when it is unjustified or done in an imbalanced manner. When someone only points out flaws or harps on something over and over without acknowledging the good features. Like when someone does a 10 minute review and spends half of it talking about 1 flaw, but then at the end rates the set 9.5 out of 10. Seems silly. Also, some people just complain without providing any value. But much like with LEGO sets I don't like, I don't watch the people that I feel just complain. Consistency was a problem with this roll out of GWP, it seems like the human staff were all toeing the line, I know my local store got very specific instructions from higher that the GWPs were one per household. The IT side of the LEGO Group is... not good. I do think they were trying to be careful this time to avoid having the GWPs run out before May 4th. Their computers didn't get the message that their human staff got. Not surprised. I am with you, so long as the limit is enforced consistently, I have no problem with it. You are correct, this is a long video! Had to break it up into segments to watch during breaks from work. No I don't think you are greedy for wanting the GWP that shows in the cart at checkout.

    No more greedy than using credit card purchases to earn miles, it’s how capitalism operates. Corporations know exactly what they’re doing and they’re not so inept as to allow consumers to rip them off constantly.

    I have a lot of thoughts, but because this is the YT comments section and this is not a viable place for a deep philosophical discussion, I will just say that calling a LEGO GWP a "gift" is a misnomer. LEGO is not offering the item out of benevolence. It is a psych hack on its consumer base and such an offering benefits LEGO immensely. They are not trying to be "nice." The upcoming Barad-Dur GWP will increase sales velocity by getting people on the fence to bite. And this is important because people on the fence who were thinking they would for sure buy the set down the road, actually may not. But it goes even beyond this. I'll stop here. But the commentor seems to think that LEGO does not HAVE to provide the gift. Actually, LEGO's purpose is to EAT, and as it grows, it needs to EAT even more. LEGO sort of has to strategically offer GWP's if it wants to keep EATING.
