Do any of the builders build hurricane proof homes? It'll be a shame when a cat 5 levels that place. That's the one thing that makes me hesitant to move to FL.

Hurricanes are a risk for sure. Im from the midwest and Tornados are a bigger risk in my opinion because you dont know theyre coming. With the Miami Dade Hurricane build requirements, all the homes being built are stronger and more resilient to hurricanes and even come with hurricane shutters(even though you will probably never use them) Also Impact glass is nice and helps calm the nerves. Keep in mind, if you buy a home near the water, the risk is higher, prices are higher etc... If you buy a home more inland, you significantly reduce the risk.

The mirada is not in tampa its in san ann a town in dade city

Thanks for the heads up... I know it is not Tampa, but people looking to move to Tampa really should not miss some of the growing suburbs. Here is what Google had to say... Located in Pasco County, San Antonio is part of the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. It offers a more rural and small-town atmosphere while still providing relatively easy access to the larger city amenities and employment opportunities in Tampa, making it a suburban community within the broader Tampa Bay area.
