No mention of the CT Sounds CT-80.4AB. ? Great 4 channel amp that does way over rated power and sounds amazing. Sounds 100% better than a recoil that is wonderful if you like distortion.

Order the amp, and that book called You Suck by Paulie Amigo, for myself this week.

So the Power wire (red) was on the remote turn on for the amp and it didnt go up in smoke. Thats a good amp for not being connected properly

I tried it for a couple days, it was one of the noisest amps ive heard, even worse than the jp84s.

It could still be a good amp for some people imo. Say I'm building a small system for my mom or someone older that's looking for just a little bit more than factory. We all have become custom to very loud, and I have always loved it loud, I'm 45yr old, but some just want a boost. Sucks it can't do the rated, but we've all seen worse😂😂. Thanks Big D!! You and SMD are the only 2 I look to and trust for truth of power in amps

Also the CT Sounds CT-80.4AB, is a great little amp for more bump and loudness and is clear as a bell . I have one in my truck and one in my wife's 4runner. Love em. Great lil amps

😂 I'm the same way when looking for a amp dyno. I was all ready to buy it even before looking at the video till I watched it and seen it didnt do power rating. Still not too bad for someone starting out and dont want to spend a little bit more money. I did you the link and ordered the 1200 model right after he uploaded that video and still hitting hard at 1ohm on 2 12 inch subs.😂.

My car has 2 agm batteries, high output alt, 3 farad cap, and sits at 13.8-14 volts constant. The goal was to eliminate light dimming durring bass hits. Its nice to know my dual 4 ohm 15" vxf is being fed around 1600 watts @ 2ohm, which is more than I had planned - _since im above 12.5-12.9 volts._

You know someone is a true professional when they still share their mess-ups with you. All the best teachers do this. In reality, that's how we all learn.

Not too surprising really , considering the size and the price . A 90.Metro just might be the better deal .

I have this amp it works perfectly fine. Using it temporarily for PC 2.1 system composed of a pair of 6.5 Recoil components and an 8 Inch Boss sub. Loud and clear enough for my use. Should be within component tolerances plus/minus 5%. There was an issue with this test and I’ll update soon with the information

Nice if your not wanting very loud mids and highs but louder than a factory unit it might be a better choice.

Running a kicker 360.4 which is 65x4 at 4 ohms. Got it for 170 bucks around Christmas last year. I recommend it. Not super budget, but it isn't bad for the quality sound you get out of it.

i think you had the remote lead in the 12V power input.

Not sure why you turned down the voltage, only draws 30amp so doubtful a stock alternator would struggle with this amp specially being such a small 4 channel probably only ever going to drive mids. 🤷🏻

Would DSP possibly help compensate for the amps shortcomings?

I bought the 1200watt one and it went into protection after 10 minutes but those 10 minutes where good lol sounded way better then the hifonics I was running

So I went back and checked and it seems as it was wired incorrectly. I'm half a century old and my eyes saw the "Power Remote" as Power and the +12V as REM. I just retested the amp and it did right at rated and I'm going to upload another video showing the results.

I love these little amps but I would rather scroll Facebook sale sites for old pioneer, Sony, alpine, ect 4 channel amps for less money. Some people out there don't know what they have. Keep your eyes peeled people!!

The amp probably didn’t sound good cause you had the 12v power and remote wires wired WRONG in the audio test You had power and ground next to each other where the remote wire should be in the middle

1990 Geo Metro? Well, I don't own a 1990, but I do have a 1991, a 1993, and a 1994 Geo Metro, and this would fit nicely under the seat. However, its anemic output and sound quality leaves me to stick with my Sony head unit that is already rated 52 watts x4, so this would be a waste of time and money.

Turns out the amp was starved for power as the remote and power leads were swapped. I’ll explain in update video. Amp sounded much better connected properly

Not really. A better choice would be the Down4Sound MM504 at just over $100.

Class D amps be tricky with their sound quality.... (Yes I said it grammatically incorrectly on purpose)

You should really delete this video completely and remake it with the correct wiring.

After many notices, I went back and yes. My old eyes saw POWER REM as Power and +12V as REM. I just retested the amp and will post an update soon. I may need some of you guys who catch all this stuff to watch the videos early and let me know when I'm slippin'!

Does that head unit have any hi-fi type audio qualities such as higher power rca outputs feat on Kenwood excelon series or other benefits ordered by pioneer itself or other brands, which help in providing an extra clean signal?

@@wal I know in the CB radio world of amps different radios will drive an amplifier differently depending on how much power it makes. You can also drive larger amps with smaller ones to boost power, which got me thinking about head unit power. I’m curious how short the ratings are on these head units.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that he's got the 12v+ and remote swapped unless the amp is mislabeled. That'd significantly skew the results.

It's true! I've gone back and tested the amp again and will post the results soon. I double, triple check everything when I do these tests, but the Power Rem looked like POWER to my old eyes and +12V looked like REM. I feel old

I had someone else point that out as well and no, apparently it was connected wrong for the playback portion. I'm going to retest it now and will upload update with the new numbers if these are wrong
