considering the price differential it seems to hold up quite well in picture quality and conditions. The audio on the other hand might be good for an emergancy situation and thats about it. Have to say looks like a good entry price point set up though. If I won one it would certainly go on my screen lets put it that way.

At present I don't have a dash cam, and in today's driving climate I think that they are becoming a necessity, possibly more so when I'm towing with my caravan, it sometimes amazes me how some other drivers act around caravanners, keep up the great work videoing, cheers Mark 👍🤗

Love the fact that it comes with a rear camera. I’ve just bought myself a Saab and my current cam (next base 222 with rear camera attached to main front camera) doesn’t do well with the angle of the Saab’s rear windscreen. The microphone quality isn’t great, but at least I’ll get away with all the swearing 🤣. Great video

Having just replaced my car, I was considering getting a dashcam, and the RC2 fits the bill very well.

So glad i chose to see your review , very clear and concise and set my mind at rest as I've had this installed on my parents new motability car, although they charged them £350, so ill be questioning that, especially as your review was a year ago. But, i may now get this one for my own car now. One question though, does it need to be plugged into the cigarette lighter all the time or has it a battery reserve ? Had the manufacturer fit it to do away with the extra wires. Thanks

Glad you found the review helpful 👍🏻 Like most dash cams, it will work for a while after the ignition is turned off, but it will need an ignition live feed to recharge and work reliably. Hope this helps

Like you I drive all over the country and quite a lot abroad. I have been meaning to buy a camera but a free one would be even better.

Thank you for uploading another honest unbiased review - exactly what I would expect by now. I would like to win this dashcam for two reasons:- 1) Ma and Pa own two cars but only have one dashcam which is what I passed on having won the previous giveaway (Vantrue N4). 2) I would like to prove, or maybe disprove, the theory that ⚡ can strike the same spot twice 😁 lol. I can only compare it to what I use daily and see how it holds up TBH, and I speak as I find! 🤷‍♂️ I don't do paid reviews ..... EVER, the manufacturer doesn't get to see the review until it's published publicly, and I tend to give the products away anyway. Whilst the resolution and contrast range aren't as good as the Nextbase 522, and the mic is obviously somewhat lacking ..... let's not forget it is 1/3 of the price!

Why I would like the dashcam. Someone backed into my car while it was parked not long ago while it was parked , and I had a lot of trouble finding out who done it. With a dashcam it would be a lot easier to find the nasty people who drive away without living there details. Thanks for the cool vids.

Nice camera for the price.

I could really use a new Dash Cam, my new Computer doesn't recognize my old Dash Cam. That is a 720p single camera unit, that was a gift a few years ago.

We have had this installed with new car but we weren’t told much about it, hence on here. Do you know if this can be viewed on a computer or phone as had one before that could?

I believe the Navitel software works with this model, as long as you’re using a windows computer - navitel.com/en/downloads/navitel-dvr-player

Hi, I can see the dashcam shows the rear view on the screen but its minimised in the top corner. If you press on the rear view does it make the rear view full screen so you can use it almost like a reverse camera? Thanks, please let me know.

No, because there is no touchscreen on this unit. From memory I think you can cycle through which camera is shown on the screen, but the screen is a bit small to be used as a reversing camera TBH

Are you looking in the right folder on the SD card? It sounds like it’s recording in parking mode and you’ve captured some pictures too, so the camera and SD card appear to be OK. If you get stuck, here’s a link to the manual, page 4 explains what the buttons do - download.navitel.com/Manuals/RC2-DUAL_WebUserManual.pdf

Sound isn't the best but as you say picture quality is very reasonable for the price

To make those buttons easy to read you can paint them with nail polish, perhaps. The reason I would like to have one, I don't have one at present and hubby has bulked at buying one for me. Thanks for the review. No ducks in this one? Stay safe.

I got a basic camera but it will jot address the 1Tb card I bought for it. An improved version would be much appreciated. If I am not successful where or whom do I speak to that will supply and fit a decent system. Why do I think you’ll know? Well, I am in Hereford, and so I think are you judging by the vlogs.

Virtually all dash cams support 64gb cards, many support 128gb one and the odd one or two support 256gb cards. I’d be surprised if any support a 1Tb card!!! Bear in mind if you replace the card you’ll want a fast one too, so 90Mb/s or higher. If you can’t manage to fit one yourself, you could always try Halfords, but TBH they only take 1/2hr - 1hr to put in even if you’re hiding the cables behind the trim etc

That depends on the frame rate and the compression format being used, but I’d say 8-12hrs continuous footage

@@williampirlokaka remember, unless you’re driving CONTINUOUSLY for 72 hours, then you don’t need to bother!!!!! If you drive 4hrs today, 4hrs tomorrow and 4hrs the day after, it will probably all be on the card anyway without any issues at all. If you want a guarantee, buy the Nextbase 622 make sure you update the firmware to the latest version and then use a 256Mb micro SD card, and you get to save 24hrs AT 4K RESOLUTION!!!!!!! (PS….. guess what I use?! 😉👍🏻)

@@GadgetMeisterUK That’s good to know. I barely drive 40 mins a day, so that’s a plus. To be honest I’m after one that helps me with night surveillance (friendly people keying cars), so in reality it won’t be filming all the time and turns on only when it detects motion in its perimeter, right? If yes, am I correct in thinking that if it’s used only during the night (6pm till 6am, car switched off), total footage takes less storage space since it is not continuously filming? Ps. Pretty positive you own the Nextbase 622. Excellent quality. Didn’t want to go that price range though :(

Apart from the mic, the reasons why I would not have this particular camera in my car is... there is no button to save the clip and there is no gps. Still, it serves its purpose.

Actually one of the buttons does act as a “lock file” button to prevent it from being overwritten, but agreed there is no GPS

Hoping to get a new car within next 2 months and haven't got round to getting one for my current car

I would be so grateful if I win this camera as I am a disabled driver and my wife has passed her test so she can help me, she's a confident driver but is worried about other drivers attitude on the road and would feel a lot better if she has that extra bit of cover for the insurance, thank you and keep the videos coming.

😢😢😢😢 For the time being, the rules state UK mainland only! Import duty outside of the UK is like a ransom, so I’m sorry that for the moment I have to stick to UK only as the back charge on the vat and customs duty is utterly ridiculous! 😢

It does mention it on page 4 ….. In record/standby mode press the DOWN ARROW to turn the microphone on/off Hope this helps 🤷🏼‍♂️
