When they destroyed the “op-ness” of the mg42 and made it available at the beginning of the game, and didnt put the crossbow in, fc5 was wasted for me.

I really liked Far Cry 4. I remember when it came out lots of people dumped on it claiming FC3 was better. Vaas was definitely cool but overall Far Cry 4 is my favourite.

I like both a lot, i just think Vaas was significantly better and Jason in FC3 has much more and better dialogue than AJ from FC4, I surprisingly enough prefer FC4’s scenery but overall I do still think FC3 is in some aspects much more remarkable. Both games are very very similar

@@crazy_pancakes7784 stealth in many video games honestly just feels like a chore, like you’re in the middle of exciting shooting action when a cutscene happens and you’re now thrust in a area crawling with enemies without your gun. Oh, and did i mention that in some games you instantly fail the mission if you get detected? So now you creep behind some counters or something. Great! All you have to do is steal some ultra secret documents from a heavily guarded facility (i’m not referencing any games in particular, so don’t go thinking i’m talking about any game i’ve played) oh wait, what’s this? Theres an enemy blocking the path! Well, lets just do a silent takedown! Wait, whats that? The detection meter is filling up? Better run to cover! Wait no theres someone already there- perfect! Now restart the mission! So you do everything again, only to get detected by the person guarding the path whom you took down earlier, because you don’t want to waste your goddamn time waiting for him to turn around for 30 minutes! Well too bad, you suck. Now restart the mission! Oh, and did I mention that aside from the usual guards blocking the path, there are also guards that patrol and randomly walk around seemingly always appearing right next to you when you’re already dealing with another guard? Hahahaha. Ok, lets just say you got past all the guards, hid all the bodies and somehow managed to not get detected and you get the objective. Phew, it’s finally over! Lets just pray to god the mission ends here. *nope.* You triggered the alarm! So now you gotta shoot your way outta there! Which doesn’t sound bad, but after an hour of excruciating stealth gameplay all you ever want now is to end the god damn mission.

I literally liked Pagan Min so much and did not want to offend him, that I stayed as his guest and finished the game in 30 minutes. My steam log is 55 minutes.

Slightly off topic but I just want to point out that I think this was the last farcry where the wingsuit was actually fun to use. I hate the wingsuit in farcry 5, not because it is too hard to control, but because it is too easy to control. the map design does not compliment a wingsuit very well, since you are just slowly falling to the ground and staring at your screen, there is no thrill of anything flying past you, by the time you hit the treeline you are already pulling your parachute. Atleast farcry 4's map was built with a wingsuit in mind, because its actually hard to control, there are actual obstacles in your way that don't make using the thing a cakewalk.

I am playing thought the series backwards. Found the wing suit and parachute really jecky. Like sometimes I would just deploy parachute fall and then just die but you can also just ram your head into a wall with a glider and take no damage??? And sometimes wing suit just would not deploy? Sometimes you could go thought trees and sometime it would kill you?? Just felt really risky to use. I am playing in hard mode so maybe it’s different in other difficulties.

compared to the golden path, he's actually not that bad. your father turned out to be an asshole, and his lieutenants give you a choice between child soldiers, or little girls being married off. pagan at least lets you, a foreigner that was raised with (presumably) good morals, rule if you spare him. and, from there, what happens next is up to interpretation. in my interpretation is that he re-structures the government to be a democracy. hell, pagan doesn't even seem to LIKE being a dictator all that much if his words during the opening didn't tip you off. (the words being "that's... me. though i'm not so sure anymore.") hell, he even kind of becomes fatherly to you. you know, because you're your mothers son. truely i think siding with him is the best possible solution to kyrats troubles. if only because you get to truely free it.

Far Cry 5 is my personal favourite in the series. The environment, gameplay, missions. It's all improved upon the previous titles. I did enjoy 4 and 3 too, just not as much

The nostalgia hit me like a bullet train the moment i heard "The River''

This game is amazing! It was one of the 1st I played when I bought my PS4 and I enjoyed everything. Specially the stealth, I always tried to take outposts without being seen, it's so satisfying when you do everything perfectly! Primal is also great, but when you have the stronger animals it gets much easier to beat the missions.

Far Cry 4 is definetly worth buying no matter what year. It has smooth gameplay, a decent weapon variety, nice graphics, a good story, 3 different endings which adds more replayablility, and overall a great game. I've 100% finished the game and I must say I loved every moment of this game, Far Cry 5 is so disappointing compared to 4 in my opinion.

The thing that pissed me off the most replaying this game are the animations. You are a sitting duck while healing or jumping on stuff and it gets annoying af.

Ubi will never top themselves when it comes to FC4, it was basically a downfall after Primal. Great points and great video. I've always found 4 to be more mechanically stable, quick actioned and faced paced compared to the other titles, its a lot more immersive yet laid back, a perfect mix of chaos and beauty, albeit with some crude humour thrown in here and there. Pagan Min accomplishes something very little other video game villains do, you actually want to join him, he is likeable, quick witted and somewhat more human than the other titles main antagonists. I also love the fact the game somewhat goes against its own nature, in that the whole story itself is a synopsis on the unnecessary violence the player causes and how Ajay, just trying to make sense of it all, ends up leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. Its truly a work of playable art.

@@carl1295 i liked 4 and im not some baby who wants everything to be easy. there is a difference between cheap and hard. i felt like in 4 alot of the times its just cheap. ill be spammed by rockets by a guy at a base over and over like i cant get up or be unstunned it mine as well be a 1 hit kill cause i cant move im stunned still from the last one by time the next one hits me then im just dead. stupid shit i die to in that game. the game is good though. also ubisoft cant do stealth right in a far cry game. except the spin offs. they do stealth good in primal and blood dragon. 3 4 5 i felt like the stealth mechanics were bad. 345, primal, and blood dragon were the only ones i liked. 6 i wont play for several reasons. 1. its woke, 2. looks like another boring just cause, 3. looks like they sold out trying to just sell microtransactions for some multiplayer game instead of making it single player game. this is why i wont be buying beyond good and evil 2. if they made just a single player game sure but i know they are going for online and microtransactions. that i cant deal with.

Far Cry 4 is the most fun I've had in a Far Cry game. Though 3 has the better story the most important thing in a game is how fun it is. At least to me. So therefore Far Cry 4 is my favourite in the series and the one I will most likely replay.

This is the only Far cry where you can drive a little hovercraft. It introduced knife throwing and brought back the AS-50 from Far Cry 2. Inky here it's called SA-40. It's unlocked after you kilked Yuna.

great review, exactly my views on fc4. i appreciate you pointed out twice how beautiful this game looks and feel because whenever i recommend this game to my friends the first thing i say is how breathtaking the visuals are. The adventure lasted a while and i enjoyed every bit of it. Unlike many people, i hold this game in very high regard despite its flaws.

I kinda liked far cry 5's focus on gameplay over the story. The villain is actually pretty good and the freeform open world is really fun to explore. I liked the removal of radio towers in favor of natural discovery and the weapons were pretty good too. The companion system is also kinda fun to mess around with and the open world has some pretty wacky shit that happens, mostly due to the ai. I wouldn't call it a train wreck but 4 is definetely a tad better. Heres hoping far cry 6 brings the best of both games

i am in a playthrough in gold edition and i can confirm the dlc missions can help you a lot mainly the bloody ruby mission because you can get north-kyrat weapons in that mission

I just bought this on Steam a few days ago for $6 and I've been absolutely loving it. Especially since I haven't played it in 7 years, so I completely forgot the entire story. It also made me realize just how much FC 5 and New Dawn blows.

i remember spending a lot of mornings in 2015 playing on my brothers Xbox One just screwing around in this game. Finally got it on my PC yesterday because i always wanted to finish it. good review, channel deserves more subscribers

It's almost 2022 and this game is still on my top 10 list of best games ever played. I am currently installing it again just to play through the story. The co-op multiplayer option is great which gives your friends a chance to cause destruction the whole way along side you making the game that much more fun. There is always a challenge to take on and more places to explore like hidden caves and fishing docks. Every outpost is built differently in different locations with different enemy routs to analyze for your best approach stealth or loud making this game more of a challenge. My personal favorite approach is stealth with a sniper. Going loud is fun to but you won't make as much xp. Everything you can do in this game has a purpose which is why its better than most newer games today. A lot of games that I've played that are new has to many problems and bugs that make it less enjoyable like GTA 5 and Call of Duty. Everything about FarCry 4 is just perfect and I would recommend it to everyone. I have tried FarCry 5 and the only thing that I like about it was the graphics, beautiful scenery and the dog. The dog reminds me of my dog Toby. Looks just like him and acts just like him to. Toby passed away a couple of years ago which is why I play FarCry 5 and the small towns reminds me of my favorite town in the world so far Fordland Missouri.

Although far cry 4 fell short in terms of story characters compared to 3, it was an improvement in terms of world and gameplay as kyrat was more varied in it's mountainous region, and more weapons were added making gameplay more enjoyable. also the were small changes that made quality of life more manageable than it was in 3

As someone who lives outside of US, seeing hope county montana is actually pretty refreshing.

The only reason far cry 5 was so different was because of all the complainers that FC4 was too similar to FC3

Honestly got lost in this world for a year or two of irl time, honestly the place was so beautiful, I was thoroughly immersed in the music, terrain, fortresses, and honey badger fights. A remake would be a blessing on this earth.

That was a great review and showcase. Would have sold me in 30 seconds, except I already just bought it in the Steam sale last week! 😄 Not played it yet as I was completing FC3 and Blood Dragon first. I love the buggies in Far Cry games. Though the engine sounds were very low in Far Cry 4. Sometimes I didn't know what hit me.

Great review but you forgot to mention the incomplete content about the mask or the hunting fashion week. Which a player completes and nothing happens, not even a trophy.

Not to mention the "Creative mode" they had as well where you could design your own levels and outposts which was freaking awesome. And the Yeti DLC and even the Escape from Durgesh DLC was good though I prefer the Yeti DLC bc it takes you to an entirely new open world map that I enjoyed.

The back ground music at 6:50....nostalgia hits hard man.

I bought the game like a year after it came out and I played it for a while and then forgot about it. A few days ago I decided to try it out again and I’m really enjoying the story.

(comment before having watched the video) I directly got Far Cry Vibes when I saw the first few seconds of the video. I played FC4 for the first time a while ago and I really liked it. The story is interesting and the gameplay is very satisfying. It can be repetitive and boring sometimes, but overall it´s a great game!

Curious that I just found this at Wal-Mart for $9.99, snagged the last copy, and Far cry 5 at Target for $20 a couple of days ago. Then this popped up on my feed. I have a love for the Far Cry series, but I never finish them for some reason. I’m having an absolute blast with 6 but hearing all this love for the previous installments have me going back to them!

Detection speed in later games pales in comparison to the first Far Cry. In that game enemies would detect you no matter how hard you tried to sneak.

The Escape from Durgesh, Valley of the Yetis, and other DLCs are WORTH IT! They’re not too pricey, and they’re an amazing add-on to the game.

Such a great game. I just love it. Viewing FC4 and FC5 side by side, FC5's biggest turn off is its "open" feel. Even though FC4 is set in a valley under himaliyas, it always feels cozy. On the contrary, FC5 is just vast endless fields with random house/hut in it. It makes one feel like wandering aimlessly until a white detection marker appears somewhere or somebody yells "sinner" at you. I just doesn't connect with the player at the same level as FC3/4 did. FC4 has a good hunting system but even better is the reward system built on top of that. You hunt animals to expand your weapon arsenal and other abilities. This makes hunting a great sub-game inside the main game and makes free roaming such a great pass-time. I think I spend more time free roaming in FC4 than I do playing story missions. And the free roaming is made beautiful by the FC4 world. The open world is HUGE but its size is not a challenge. The world is so densely populated with hiding spots, random machine gun posts, karma events, karma point, collectibles, and random events that you cannot go long before encountering something very interesting. The coziness comes from the terrain and the abdundance of spots you can set up a quick ambush for the quickly approaching royal army truck. Just so much fun. The royal army (RA) characters and the takedowns are so much fun. Nothing is better then sticking your machete in a unsuspecting RA guy that is having random conversation with one of its mates. Compare that to a seemingly harmless killer-punch to a hobo just after he screams "sinner" at you while a religious sermon plays in the background. There is no fun in FC5 at all. I have it sitting for years but never came around to playing it past the first hour. It is just not interesting enough. That's it. I think I'm gonna need a hit soon.

@@musthavechannel5262 lmao giving opinions when you haven't even finished the game once, idk about you but I love taking my SUV with missile launchers/turret & blowing up cultists, hell u can even get a muscle car with machine guns on the roof, even better a semi with machine guns btw the driver can shoot the weapons for all those vehicles, don't even get me started on the sci fi magnopulser that disintegrates them into blood or shooting cluster munitions from ur own rocket launcher, & or plane, oh & sometimes from Mortar posts depending which one you've found. We probably just have different definitions of Fun

I've never played a far cry game before. I almost bought far cry years ago, but the cashier told me it was trash and all about malaria so I ignored the series. I'm about to buy this tomorrow

What I liked about 4 was how it improved upon 3 technically (better takedowns, more guns etc) The shock I felt near the end of the story that Pagan was going to Ajay Kyrat if he just waited was so surreal, surely it could've been better if ruled Kyrat firsthand.

Answer : yes I bought far cry 5 when it came out and and stopped playing fc4 for a long time. Few weeks ago i hopped on fc4 again and boy was it fun. Way more exciting and fun than then the new releases! Playin through the story for the 4th time now! Definitley worth your money and time

That’s awesome lol it’s great to see such a big FC4 fan. The only flaws I think it does have is in the story with Ajay, Amita, and Sabal. If they had more personality and acted less childish, and if we saw Pagan Min more I think the game could be a masterpiece.

@@masterassassin791 well yea the story was cheesy,i would love if there was more pagan,i really hated the parts with hurk though,i liked willis.But in terms of gameplay and how smoothly you can do takedowns and how good the weapons feel,i think its the perfect formula of an open world fps game,the outposts have many diverse ways you can go about to complete them,ive replayed the whole story 4 5 times each time differently,once i vowed to only play stealth all the time,another time sidearms only,another time with shitty weapons thst ive never used previously and its fun anyway you play it,also the exploring of the yalung masks the caves and collectibles were very intriguing and well put through.Ive tried playing through fc5 but i just cant do it,every place looks the same and the quiet protagonist is even worse than Ajay,btw great review man keep doing what ure doing u have a good voice and a nice way of presenting the content in the games,best of luck you.

An excellent review. I'm about 2/3 through the game, having played FC5, 6, and New Dawn before this. I would say this game holds up really well against the newer ones, and is in my top two of FC games.

Wow ! Super happy I found this video :) I've played Far Cry 5 without having played any of the previous versions. Now that I have to wait for Far Cry 6 coming in 2021, I am gonna entertain myself with Far Cry 4 which is 1-cheaper ;) and 2- apparently more fun than the 5 (which I absolutely love!!) thanks for posting this video. So what do you think of Far Cry 4??

When I did my first playthrough of far cry 4 I didn't know that there was option to not kill amita, pagen min, etc so I killed everyone that I got the choice to kill. I only figured out you didn't have to kill them from a youtube video.

I hope you see this comment. I loved the system of hunting in Far Cry 3 and 4 (especially in 4) where you had to hunt animals in order to unlock weapon holsters and increase the capacity for wallets and lootbags. I was disappointed that hunting had a reduced role in Far Cry 5. I also was disappointed that there were no looting and skinning animations in far cry 5 like in Far Cry 3 and 4. I wanted to know if these animations and the system of hunting in 3 and 4 will make a comeback in 6

I’m playing it for the first time and I am obsessed, it’s the first time that I play Far cry and wow what a game!! the graphics in the Ps5 still look amazing! I don’t know why it took me so long but I am so glad that I found this game!! I’ll be playing FC3 and FC5 after and probably the 6 in the future… love the dynamic of this game.

We liked this game a great deal, so it was fun to see your take on a classic game for us, and we loved it even slightly more then FC3 as this felt a harder game. Just wish the end boss was used more but I have that critique on EVERY Far Cry game. They write them with great back story and then we interact with them so infrequently (looking at you FC5)

I have not played far cry 4 but I have played far cry 1, far cry 3 and far cry 5 they were awesome specially far cry 3 was the best and by seeing your review I need to try far cry 4 also

Freaking love the aesthetics of the hunter bow in this game, making me wish it were in the rest of the games as well. We do get it again in New Dawn too

Outposts and fortresses were for some reason dealbreaker for me. In farcry 5 in was just too small and too little. Also in fc4 were more enemies. Hunting animels made sense and you wanted to track them. In fc5 it was just quick cash.

As an Indian , i really loved the game , i was suprised when the royal army and npc started to speak hindi and some bengali ( although the story is set in nepal , so it should be nepalease ) nevermind , all the vehicles in the game are so realistic and the music ( except rabi yay rana ) is awesome. yes i agree with your opinion with Ajay and Pagan Ajay Ghale never speaks anything and he even spells his name wrong in Valley of the Yettis DLC ( made me cringe bcuz , ajay should know some kyrati bcuz he fled with his mother ) Pagan Min is a really good villan and is a really cool guy ( IMO Yuma should be the villan ) IDK why most people hate this game , caling it Far cry 3.5 : (

Nestor Melendez definitely agree it seemed like she was going to have a redemption arc and then the game gives you a chance to save or kill her and no matter what you do she dies so it was so pointless and a wasted character.

Nestor Melendez exactly and that’s my point for these side villains. You also described Yuma for me and that was even a bigger disappointment. She was second in command of the entire royal army, then we got a drugged up fight with the Rahsasha and Kalinag. We didn’t even get to see her much too, introduces us to her for a second at durgesh prison then pagan reveals her position just so ajay can kill her. If this isn’t poor story writing or laziness by Ubisoft then I don’t know what is. Most of these villains should have been more hostile and harder to kill each time. Except they are all nice except for Yuma, who seemed like the only one to hate you throughout the game lmao.

This is my favorite game of all time

far cry 4 came out when i was 8 and it was one of my first games i sat down and actually invested time into, and it was amazing i had a blast playing the story mode it felt immersive and i would play at night for like 8 hours straight and the custom maps were even more fun

Even though they aren’t great I do enjoy far cry 5 and some parts of new dawn

I picked this up recently for £5 on Steam. What an amazing game. Somehow I missed it and went from far cry 1, 2 and 3 on consoles to 5 on PC. I loved the crossbow, grenade launcher and the LMGs.

I finally finished FC3 after like 10 years of never having finished the prologue, it was awesome but I was seriously disappointed with how overhyped Vaas was to the story. I’m chewing through FC4 right now and I am loving it, it’s gorgeous but I am disappointed with the lack of stealth options. The bow is good, but I miss suppressor attachments and snipers but then I’m only 4 hours into the story. Edit: Managed to pick FC3 Classic for $3, and FC4 Gold for $10. Not bad.
