    My wife will hit her 85 factor 3 weeks after she turns 55, which works out perfectly. There was no need for her to buy back any pension for her maternity leaves.

    While thats something to consider, even with a full pension a normal person will still be ways off from hitting clawback territory Delaying OAS can also help make clawback less impactful

    you are wrong, the self invest one you only calculate the interest. the benefit plan is actually give you back the capital you contribute.

    I think he's referring to the fact you mentioned in the video that, with a buyback, Mary's $100,000 will be gone when she dies. But if she invests the $100,000 herself, then she will still have that capital to pass on to her beneficiaries.
