I bought a used XR this month with 6 miles on it. Came with an orange fender, an orange plug cover, a helmet, triple 8 wristguards, knee pads, and elbow pads as well.... Only $1250 and was the first person I contacted about buying one. Super simple transaction. Paid cash in a sheriff parking lot.

I found one on eBay that I wanted, but the buyer didn't get back to me in time to let me know the shipping options (he said shipping, but only had local pick-up). It was the right price with the right accessories, right mileage, and had he gotten back to me I would have taken it. The auction ended and I took the plunge and just bought a new one on Sunday, then today I get an email notification that he relisted it. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any onewheels for sale on FB or CL, so it my options were pretty limited to eBay or buy new.

@@freshlycharged One thing I didn't hear you mention as a pro to buying used was that you avoid the week-long wait to build the OneWheel, and then the 3 to 5 days to ship it.

I've been looking for a used Onewheel (XR) for 6 months. Trying not to pay more than $1400, but that is proving impossible. Reddit, Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, etc. I just can't find one in that price range.

Reasons For 1. Save money by saving on the depreciation hit 2. No sales tax 3. Support the community 4. Warranties are transferrable 5. Accessories may be included (and sometimes a lot of them) 6. Less stress Reasons Against 7. Time consuming 8. Depending on location - market may be very, very small (or none) 9. Missing out on new smell / look 10. Don't have the full warranty 11. More stress 12. Harder to finance 13. It may not be that much cheaper

I bit the bullet during quarantine researching my butt off on these and just said what the hell, I'll just buy one new. That unboxing and clean smell is an experience. I was one of those new one wheelers buying accessories to protect my board and make it mine, I dont regret it. I love my onewheel. Me and a group did a ride yesterday on the Las Vegas strip and it was heaven. You can't beat that feeling where so many people are watching and " oohing"and "aweing" wondering what in the world we are riding as we zip right by them. Since the strip is somewhat empty, there are a lot of people riding bikes through it. Well this is the best 1800 Ive spent ever. I could of bought used if I tried but I didn't want to risk having someone elses problem. Theres no way for me to know how a used onewheel was treated and that alone is a dealbreaker for me. If I was going to drop that much coin, that peace of mind is worth the extra money. anyways, great video jimmy. Cheers.

@@BSL-mc7my I bought from a local dealer. I supported a local business buying brand new as well. They needed it due to the quarantine.

I was considering buying used, but there was zero used ones near me. The used one wheel Facebook page turned out to be a page of nothing but people begging to buy one. Even the local shops were out of stock. Luckily my friend and I found a local dealer who had a few in stock so we helped out a local business.

Hey Jimmy , just to say that I recently purchased a secondhand OW+ and so far have been loving it. A large part of that decision and was due to your very down to earth videos so thank you for making them. BTW, the OW+ came with a new carbon mag fender, so are bumpers and a handle so all in all a good deal. Considering a CnR setup in the future!

I just bought a Pint because I wanted something to do with my kids during a summer of quarantine. We love it! And I was wondering if anybody else was thinking the same thing. I wonder if there has been a surge in sales... We also watched a ton of your videos before taking the leap, so thank you for all the content!

In Sweden there is a used onewheel market. Its small but not really a problem to buy a used one. I live out on the countryside but a couple of hours by train or car and I can go on grouprides in the bigger citys. Keep up the good work with the videos with the onewheel👍

If you’re coming to South Dakota, definitely consider stopping thru Yankton, SD (my hometown) - we have our incredible Meridian pedestrian bridge that crosses the Missouri into Nebraska and a couple dozen miles of trails along the river and around Lewis & Clark Lake. I’m a full-time filmmaker, as well - this could be a fun opportunity to document your experience, if you wouldn’t mind me tagging along 😉

Thanks for the video Jimmy! I probably should have bought used since I was one of those that went all crazy with accessories on day 1. I bought a lot of protective side plates and bottom plates to protect the rails and bottom. I also added a fender and a kush foot pad along with a great handle. I enjoy the Onewheel XR+ and glad I bought it. However, now that I have had time to ride it for quite some time I realize I just like PEVs that go faster with even greater range than the XR+. I may actually sell my Onewheel XR+ so I can make room for a Kingsong S18 EUC but still on the fence. I have been riding the Onewheel more during this pandemic and it has been great cruising around San Francisco. I may still just keep it and get an EUC :)

I'm looking on buying a xr myself with a few extras and been from ireland they want 200 dollars to ship it.my greatest concern is I ride ecu and have the kingsong s18 pre ordered and I'm just worried that if I buy this and ship it its gonna cost 2200 euro and may regret it as it might be to slow for me.i know there not made for going fast but might end up not using it much seen as I do enjoy going to the limits of my ecu.hard decision to make.

@@freshlycharged I agree plus I think my 9 year old daughter would kill me. She doesn't ride it much as we haven't been able to get out to the park these days. I don't want her riding on San Francisco streets. She always asks to ride the Onewheel in the park and it is super fun in that setting. I haven't had any time on an EUC but I feel it is more what I am looking for in a hands-free PEV. I just need to see how I can justify it given all my electric scooters. I think I may need to find new homes for a few scooters.

Got mine used over a year ago and it worked out great... I immediately was scratching it up at the trails, so it didn't matter to have it look new... But I would say the peace of mind might be enough for some people.... That's less Ebay competition for me 😁

That's some Mario Contino ride video's style X'-D Nice one :-] I've done my new Onewheel XR unboxing yesterday at home ^^ With a bunch of accesories (black rail-guards, orange bumbers - the FANG 3.0 on nose side ! -, black fender, an orange mag handle and a couple of Half-Life stickers to complet this set ;-P). I spent the day assembling everything. But I can't ride it yet ^^' The sports shop around are all out of stock about safety gears X'-D I had to buy online so I have to wait them to be delivered (maybe today or tomorrow). Cause I won't ride my board without them of course. Battery fully charged, waiting on Futur Motion stand in the main room ! Oh, and for information I had the chance to already test the Onewheel for an hour in Paris last week, went so good, had the time to get quite confortable on it, get the sensations... and to confirm that, yeah, this is for me as I thought :-] I'll be safe and not cocky (we are likewise safe men, don't want to be hurt !) take care ^^

When buying secondhand EUCs I would worry about the battery pack.

It's a fair concern. Likely (unless it's been physically beat with a stick or something) that the worse issue to worry about with the battery is a dip in range/output. I'd worry less about cut outs because of that and more personally worry about the control board or something mechanically wrong otherwise, seeing as a lot of them are usually run pretty hard when you look at some of the mileage and activities riders put them through like jumping curbs and off-roading. More over, new wheels come out so often promising better range and other features.

Hello, I see you changed your shoes. Do you feel the flat skateboard shoes give more foot fatigue than your hiking style shoe?

Does anyone think there will be a memorial day sale this year? I want to purchase my pint today, but I was told it may be a good idea to wait for memorial day. I know FM rarely runs sales. I would like to know others thoughts on this. I don't want to wait anymore, but I guess a couple more weeks wouldn't hurt if there is a chance of a sale.

Sales tax on my latest OneWheel XR was $210! Los Angeles!

Reason more nosedives? I got a XR and it’s got like 50 miles on it. So far i have nosedived three times!

Your OneWheels are are purchased second hand, but aren't all your EUC brand new?

Yes. Harder to find used EUCs in my experience.

The used market is saturated now cause of the GT'S. I just need to save for one now. Lol!

My onewheel xr comes tomorrow! Brand new cost close to 3k with all extras got elite package and lots of stuff from 3rd party’s.

Should you look for one wheels under 100 miles ?

Im looking for used but I saw one that said it didn’t have a charger and to me that is a red flag that it is stollen

Just got a second hand xr yesterday with 22miles. 500$!

Couple more things, used issues: left in a cold car for weeks at a time? Charging habits? Curb drops? Water issues? Off-road riding vs pavement. Warranty is hardly covered and then FM holds you over a barrel if they can prove it’s not their issue and you have to pay an Insane amount to get it back. Using Ryan in the Facebook group and getting a part shipped in 2 days is worth it all day. I’d never buy a used unit, ever

@@freshlycharged and I twisted my ankle the first day. After 40min on asphalt I wanted to try riding on grass. Going around 5km/h, too big bump and I fell with my foot on a board :p This js literally unlucky. I was fully in protective gear

I own and pint and a xr, both purchased used. Only one reason for that and that is there is no way I’m giving my money to future motion! I love the Onewheel but will not support a company that booby traps their boards and restrict the owners right to work on their own boards. Sorry FM I believe by purchasing my board I should have the right to change batteries, do mods whatever I choose IT’S MINE! So DO NOT BUY NEW, hope to build my own VESC someday. ✌️

I got my OW Pint with 162 miles and a fender 2 weeks ago for $250! I took a train 2 hours away to Long Island to grab it, and man am I glad I did! Since then I've grabbed a brand new quart battery for $250, a cyberpunk CF fender and ultracharger (plus a bunch of other goodies) for $100, and a pair of sonny wheels (the best nosedive wheels IMO) for another $100! I think I'm doing pretty well in terms of bang for buck! Second hand websites are the f-ing best! Now I'm looking at a +XR with a fast charger and fender for $900, should I jump on it? I was going to get it for $650 but I think he realized he was going to low...:(

Right... I don’t think I would buy a used onewheel that the previous owner could have covered with coronavirus...
