It was confirmed that it will be the same engine, only 5hp difference btw, not a big deal, but a big difference for the v4; 255hp 2.0 for the g70 vs 304hp for Gv70, G80, GV80

2022 model is absolutely stunning. The car a real boss drives but I would be content with a 2021. I test drove one a while back and I was blown away by the perfect balance of power and luxury.

It's actually a refresh rather than a redesign. And they just announced that the US will get the same engines as before. However, to me, the new one looks better and has some better tech inside. Also now, the adaptive suspension package is available on the 2L as well. Some cool new colors are added, such as matte grey.

@@RaitisRides Update. Like you said the seat on the bottom is not very comfortable after driving an hour my butt hurts lol. Auto On/ Off stop is annoying wish I could just have it off. Back seat is super tiny and useless but does not bother me at as I have no use for them. I do wish it had twin exhaust like you said. Stunning in person inside and out and quiet too with just enough HP. Love that I do not see them often as I do like my previous car the Lexus IS.

Raiti I'm trying to wait patiently for your review of the Mustang Mach 1 with the handling package, have one on order really skeptical still.

The redesign matte gray launch edition with the red interior looks stunning. I hope you’re able to get your hands on one for a review!

Always bringing the best reviews and suggestions my dude! (6:50) Lmao, so much excitement they needed sirens. Great use of (0 to the speed limit) during the driving portion. 1- Definitely getting all of the chrome on this car darkened. 2- Definitely best-looking stock wheels I have seen in a long time but again I want them darker to match the Dark chrome. 4- definitely needs the quad tip exhaust. This design looks just as lame as the 2004 GTO. Of course, they changed it the very next year. 5- I love the use of the cheap plastic on the lower doors to save weight and increase performance.

I'm mad!! US isn't getting the fully digital display 😢 besides the new look that's what I was looking forward to

Just picked up my G70 3.3T sport in Siberian Ice yesterday and I love it. The Sport has black chrome, Pilot Sport 4 tires and a LSD. "On throttle" defines it in sport mode! I thought about waiting but I feel the 2022 design aims for a more luxurious look and the current has a more sporty look. I prefer today's low finance rates with it :)

Awesome review, Joe. Genesis all day for me now. The value/quality ratio is so much greater than other German brands. Can you review the new GV70 when you have a chance?

I love the G70, and was looking forward to the 2022 when I thought there was a chance the base would receive the 2.5 Turbo. Now that I know it isn't, I would buy a 2021 or even a preowned 2020 G70 TT V6. Or maybe just a 2022 base Stinger that IS getting the 2.5 Turbo.

4:44 I finally see similar front side profile of the Stinger which I think Stinger is better looking but that 2022 G70 🔥

I’m just going to have to give this 2021 model a zonk because the new refreshed design for 2022 is 🔥 🤩

For the last coupe years, we’ve always been hearing about these cars in relation to Twinkie storage so now that they’re appealing more consistently, I’m just laughing at seeing them in action 🤣

Love the 2021 and not redesign new G70 both are gorgeous, cars love the quality of materials aluminum#1 of all Good reviews. My salutes from Puerto Rico.

JJ ~ you know me, I love me some RWD, yes performance wise AWD is best but not near as fun as a good old fashion RWD, because who doesn't love to burn rubber or do peel outs? at this price point a person is really getting A LOT for their money, a Mercedes is double, a BMW is at least 20 more, probably about the same for a Lexus. it drives smooth, handles well, feels comfy inside > it comes down to that nameplate decision. do I spend 225.oo for NIKE or 75.oo for KSWISS? great camera work Lori, great post. - tony

I'd say wait for the new design. I've seen it and my eyes can't believe it.

Are you sure the 2022 G70 is a redesign? I thought it was just a refresh like with the Kia Stinger or the G90 where they give similar styling (headlights, taillights) to all the Genesis models...

I like the exterior styling of the G70, but not feeling the interior. The seats and diamond stitching are great, but overall I walked away thinking it felt pretty cheap, and that's probably also largely on the interior styling.

I got a 2020 G70 2.0T. Beautiful car, I agree with most of your points. My car being white though, brings the chrome out. I’ve seen models with Genesis written across the back. (Is this the G80 I’m thinking about?). Anyhow, that I don’t like because I’m a subtle guy and don’t need the name splashed on the back.

The question you should be asking is why not?

If you could get a great deal get a 2021. I got my 2020 G70 3.3t for what all the other competitors were charging for their 4 cylinders. No Thanks, I’m very happy with that 3.3t. Puts a smile every time I smash the Gas.

Redesign no question, unless you get a fantastic deal on this model

I love this car as it is. The net behind the seats works for me, cause kids can leave twinkies & get rotten without seeing it.

Pretty nice package overall, especially love the color! Headlight look like MB and tails look like BMW

That white Elantra in the background looks so sexy. I absolutely love the wheels on this G70 but I'd wait for the redesign. Four things I'm zonking on this: 1. The big holes in the chrome grill at the front makes it look like a chain link fence. Zonk. 2. I agree with you about the unbalanced mufflers. Zonk. 3. The infotainment screen has an outdated shape that creates these large ugly bezels. Zonk. 4. The rear view mirror should've been frameless at that price point. Zonk.

Plain and simple. Wait for redesign. Coming in a few months

Buy a 2021, but spring for the 3.3T Sport! It's the best car I've ever owned.

You sometimes sound like a car dealer that doesn't ever see the negatives about their products except for your occasional soft zonks and Twinkie deficits.
