Thank you so much man for making this video. it literally killed my confusion thoughts i had for the past year on the spot. i noticed that i hated every second of the graphic design process but enjoyed making UI / Web elements. the answer was infront of me, i was just scared to see it tbh due to my current financial situation. now that i study it in university and started making serious progress, i hated everything about it, only developed intrest in UI/Web design type since 've been learning graphic design for fun for 5 years, I thought i can earn money now but be miserable or sacrfice another 6-9 months for Web design + coding but be better mentally. thank you again, ima save this video in my notion to remmember it daily.

Okay, i think i got an idea, corrct me if im wrong. Graphic designer: creates logo, brands, style, font, and so on for a webpage Web designer: creates a webpage for a company, decides what should go where and what features to be added to the webpage, and so on. Web developer: writes the code for the web designers idea. A web designer n developer works together and passes it on to graphic designers to give a final touch. Im considering doing web designing and development.

Hi David! Many thanks for your advice. I'm a bit torn because I come from the illustration field. I love working with Figma, have an idea of HTML and CSS, made my portfolio on Framer (although I think I like some things from Webflow better) and doubting if starting learning WordPress or not (of course, doing everything in Elementor because PHP is not my thing.) Studied UI and the basics of UX. Now trying to learn SEO and some marketing tools too. I love graphic design, but it happens to me like you mentioned here: there are some sort of things about graphic design such as designing a logo or a magazine or packaging doesn't ring a bell on me. Do you think I can send you an email to ask for other things related to becoming a web designer? I am worried about the handoff part of the business and the follow ups with clients, afterwards you deliver a website to them. Many thanks in advance and again, thanks a lot for your knowledge! And this is probably the reason why I could not go with graphic design. Lack creativity and drawing skills.😅 I mean, I am creative in webdesign but not creative enough for creating logos etc. I rather solve some technical issues than having to come up with something completely new for a brand.😅

Great question, Emerson! I think there is value in prioritizing one as your main offering, so that it's clear to communicate and package as the main offering. B/c if you love both, do both! Honestly, most web design now includes graphic design and you can't be an amazing digital designer without web knowledge! PS. @@meetdavidalex iv been thinking about it more and I’ve seen many people niche down first into one thing and then as they grow niche up if that makes sense into a larger audience or target audience Either way What do you think about Webflow and learning how to code in general I’m in the mids of that right now And I generally enjoy most of it graphic design is fun but it can get very frustrating when creating a logo that your clients don’t understand or having to make them what they want and you know it looks like shit 😂 no offense but that’s what they want

Thank you for the video! I'm studying graphic design and loving it but I'm also intrigued by web design. But I'm only interested in the UI/UX and protoyping, hardcore coding is not for me that is one thing I'm sure about. Is it possible to be a web designer who doesn't actually code much but designs structure, layout and appearance ? I'm lost at the moment because there're so many options that seem equally interesting and hard ( web, motion, 3D). And they all seem to be more well-paid as well P. S. You motivated me to start building my first prototoype in Figma!

Moreover, the field of UI/UX design requires a combination of coding and design skills, so having coding knowledge is even more beneficial. Therefore, learning to code appears to be a prudent choice. Additionally, one can opt for web development after gaining proficiency in coding languages. Furthermore, 3D animation skills hold their own merits, but it is important to note that the availability of opportunities for 3D animators can vary significantly across different countries. (well I am an Animation Graphic Design graduate planning to enhance my skill set in learning coding abroad to explore new possibilities)

Yes! Of course :) you probably have a better ability for one than the other but you can def package your service with both!!

YES! Web design will make you a 10x designer. Typically if you can graphic design and site design, you can beautiful beautiful, expensive sites!

You can learn either! Just depends on what you want. Both of them use a bit of math but you don’t need to be an expert at math for either :)

In simple word. Graphics designer design every shit And in web designer just do the other work
