I bought an Steelcase Amia during the pandemic when an architecture office was shutting down so everyone can work from home. I got it as an incredible price of $200 and the chair is pretty much brand new. I didn't know much about chairs but since using the Amia, I found it to be super incredibly comfrotable and can totally see why it has a price tag closer to $1k. My only problem now is I really want a headrest for it. I found a few reddit posts with some suggestions for DIY but I can't find ANYTHING on Amazon or else where that I know for sure will work with the Amia. I understand the chair doesn't come with a headrest and that I will probably need to drill holes into my chair, I'm just wondering if anyone here knows of an aftermarket headrest that will work with the Steelcase Amia. Much thanks!!!!

I like a headrest mostly to support my head if I were to nap at my chair and lean my head back. I don’t want a headrest to actively push on my head, as that may tend to cause my neck to flex and head droop. I like the headrest on my Humanscale Freedom chair. Does the Steelcase Gesture or Leap chair’s headrest support the head similarly?

I’m really interested in a headrest similar to what you mentioned on the series 2 where it only comes into play when I lean back. Other than the series 2 do you have any recommendations that are similar in that regard?

Do you know if the Atlas Headrest for the Aeron is still comfortable while using headphones or does it get in the way if you turn your head to look from one monitor to another?

Got myself a Xenium office chair with headrest a few years ago. Costed about a $1000. Even though the chair is comfy (personally it feels a bit like sturdy couch-material), the headrest is more of an annoyance than relaxing. I got the headrest on purpose because I relax and recline a lot, but the headrest pushes me forward so much (it's also a too flexible imo) it just doesn't feel comfy for my head/neck. But not using the headrest at all is also not really an option for me. With this knowledge now, I wouldn't have bought the headrest again (for this chair) though. Anyway, I saw some of your guys' vids and the Steelcase ones sound pretty good. I'm thinking about buying one of those, but I'm getting a little about whether I should buy one with a headrest again or not though...

I guess it depends from chair to chair, but my chair's neck headrest doesn't allow me to move my head at all when using headphones, so keep that in mind if you daily drive headphones (i do for both work and gaming so yeah...)

I used this gaming chair and the headrest is annoying when I sit up right as you mentioned. I rarely lay back on my chair to relax. I'm going to get new chair without headrest then.

I need a chair with a head rest, and would like to know which type of chair would work better for me. I work upright with my monitor at eye level. I also swivel to the side and watch a TV that is about a foot or two above eye level, which I like to recline back. Should I get a ergo headrest or a tall back chair?? I'm about 5'9" and 170 lbs.

Why has no one commented on napping in these office chairs? Is it some taboo subject matter? I mean a home office you're gonna nap. Even a traditional office you might nap during lunch. C'mon people, catch a few Zzzzs & report.

if you're gonna nap might as well go to your couch or bed and have a proper full body support

@@tsunamipapi173 A lot of people don't have couches available, esp if not working from home. I'm just talking about a 10-20m nap.
