Greta Thunberg’s speech at the World Economic Forum today created a lot of talk about climate change and sustainability. For many people, one of the biggest aspirations in life is to have their own family but the prospect of having kids isn’t necessarily for everyone. TV presenter and naturalist Chris Packham states that abstaining from reproducing is actually a good thing, and could help to save the planet. Chris states that having too many kids leads to a higher population and thus higher consumption, which is not good for the planet. Journalist Ella Whelan suggests alternative ways to save the planet.

When infant mortality rates fall, families choose to have fewer children. Fix world poverty and improve public health across the planet. The other point which needs addressing is wealthy nations propensity for overconsumption and waste. It’s not just about numbers.

Most energy usesage and waste is also proportionally is mostly used by the 1% so really it goes down to controlling their actions and reducing the power they have. Also they inhibit the renewable market by bribing oh whoops sorry I mean "donating" money generously to our MPs to keep on the hype train of Fossil fuels.
