    First Last I support our country but I strongly disagree with that. This has been happening since the 60’s unspoken” and we’re almost into 2020. It’s been 60 yrs man. Hasn’t happened yet. Even when “ Mexicans “ “ Latinos” that were born in the U.S. (Americans) “L.A.” if they were brown. They would get thrown unto a truck and shipped to Mexico. Even when they fought to show they’re innocence and proof. Believe it or not. A lot has happened that Americans aren’t aware of. Or just don’t care to know or learn “ ignorance”

    My favorite is the irony that the same people who complain that we shouldn't "police" the world, are the same that argue that we should provide welfare to the world. If you believe we should use our influence globally, go ahead and argue that, but at least be consistent. If it's our duty to feed, clothe, and house the world poor, then it's also our duty to snuff out the evil in the world.

  • @walkonstilts1

    @walkonstilts1

    4 жыл бұрын

    @John Kotab 1) It's not the only way, but it is able to reliably provide good in the lives of many. In a true libertarian paradise, there is also a "wild, wild, west" and evil people are free to do harm much more easily. Freedom and security are often inverse of each other. Yes in a way every law is only backed up by the violent threat to those who would break it, but there's an unfounded assumption by you that there would be less violence without these structures. I'd say that's demonstrably false. 2) Race, 100% agree, its a stupid idea in the modern world. It's a remnant of evolutionary necessary behavior to avoid "outsiders" due to disease. Look at the Spanish when they entered Central America--they wiped out most of the native populations because they brought foreign diseases, which the natives had no immunity to. It was necessary and reasonable for survival to be disgusted by outsiders for millennia, although I think humanity has surpassed that, and need to understand that someone who looks different from you is not inherently dangerous. Nationality is tied closer to culture, which can actually be meaningful (not always). Borders can benefit both those in power but also citizens. I bet northern Europe wished they had better borders when Vikings used to raid them, murder them, and steal from them. The idea that "human constructs" aren't valid or real is nonsense. "Laws" are human constructs; not murdering someone for their dinner is a human construct; not raping someone cause you cant control your primate brain is a human construct. Dismissing the value of an idea because it is a "human" or "social" construct is silly and foolish and ignorant. 3) There is surely enough for everyone in the world, but that is not to say that in this specific nation we have enough for everyone who wants to be here. Perhaps we do, but that has seemed unlikely thus far. Scientific studies have suggested that the optimal "capacity" for the united states based on its natural resources is about 250 million people. Not that that's MAX capacity, but from there the average quality of life starts to decline. We are at 340 million people, and passing that 250 million tipping point coincides strongly with the "decline of the middle class" that many people complain about. You also assume that "open borders" is the only compassionate stance. The reality is that even if the US has "open borders", they are closed from the Mexican side by the Cartels. They also control their southern border from the rest of Central America. This is a known fact. Even if we passed full fledged open borders, no one would be allowed to cross without the approval of the cartels. They realized there is a high demand to cross, so they positioned themselves as gatekeepers and you gotta pay the toll. Open borders is not unanimously compassionate, because those who cross are subject to abuse and suffering at the hands of evil people, and opening the border doesn't eliminate that. One could argue rather strongly that "true compassion" would be advocating for full fledged military war against the drug cartels. Or one could argue that improving our ability to bring people into the country legally, while maintaining strong borders is yet more compassionate. One could also argue that focusing on improving the conditions of the countries that people are fleeing is yet even more compassionate than just expecting them to travel thousands of miles vulnerable to criminals and evil people to get to somewhere decent. I'm not saying you're wrong on everything, but you yourself are making a lot of "unfounded assumptions" in your own claims. Mainly you seem to severely underestimate how much evil and suffering exists in a truly free world without public goods, without public safety systems, without human or social constructs. Perhaps you truly just believe that suffering and evil is inescapable, so you'd at least like to be truly and fully free; however, your statements imply that you think that lifting those restrictions somehow makes the world a safer and more peaceful place, which is wrong.

Deregulate the labor market and allow them to compete on a level playing field with legal workers.

  • @matrixman8582

    @matrixman8582

    @Dangit don Wrong. The free flow of labor is necessary in guarnteeing the propserity of an economy. Ever since we have began immigration restrictions, we have destroyed our manufacturing sector to countries like China where it can he produced cheaper. With an increase in labor, production increases, which lowers prices, and raises real wages aka purchasing power. The myth that free flow of labor suppresses wages is perpetuated by the labor unions who wanted to keep their power by restricting competition in the labor market, which is why the democrats used to always be avid restrictionists until they realize they could use their race and ethnic backround to virtue signal and give them voting rights to landslide elections.

Yes it has bad leadership in some spots (not necessarily trump just alot of officials in state local and federal government) but there are plenty of Americans who would put their life on the line to protect our country and democracy. The active and reserve military, civilians that work for the DOD, The police, the firefighters, those who don't physically or mentally qualify for those jobs that would gladly do them.. @Captain Jack There are plenty of construction projects in the united states currently and over the past 2 years. There have been hundreds of millions of dollars spent to build NEW airports, roads, Skyscrapers etc. Look up construction projects 2019. Most impressive projects. Projects done in your state. Projects done in the 2000s. Projects done in the 2010s. I mean just because the government isnt building as much stuff doesn't mean free enterprise isn't. How many new stores were built in 2019 nationally? Distribution plants? Just because some whack jobs are saying the world is ending doesn't mean you drop everything and cry. You might look out the window to see if it is but if its not you don't quit your job. If the US was truly failing more people would be mass exodusing out of the country. What is happening instead. A mass influx of legal and illegal immigrants. Should we limit this? Yes but that's not my point here my point is America I'd fine we just need to have better leaders run for office as most of the dirtiest districts run unapposed every election
