Panelists: Harry Shum (Microsoft Research EVP of Tech), Max Tegmark (Cosmologist, MIT) Stuart Russell (Prof. of Computer Science, UC Berkeley) and Ray Kurzweil (Futurist, Google Director of Engineering). Moderator: Margaret Boden (Prof. of Cognitive Science, Uni. of Sussex).

Robot is just one example of AI. They currently being used to do web search manipulation psych analysis the entire population is in the project already. AI can know several fields of expertise at the same time it just needs to search the web and store the data in its memory in a second it can become a lawyer or a web-designer, programmer etc.

Machines designed by humans might "inherit" human-like traits. That can be a big problem

it makes sense, if there is a time where AI achieves a level of self conscious then we won't be able to tell the difference from a human to an AI, people will fight for AI's rights, only when both humans and machines are equal then we could possibly start to merge and become something incomprehensible for our minds

Nobody mentions sentient artificial intelligence in this discussion. How can people reason with a mind that evolves beyond human intellect at an exponential rate?

The question of how we get our wishes for the genie right is quite simple to answer and I will resolve that right now. Your friend sends you the commands on Messenger, and you copy that into a .txt file that you save on your home PC. Then you attach that file to a mail that you send to your smartphone. You then upload that file to the FTP where all the other code for your AI is. Then you just go to your website and BOOM...

My question is where is human choice exactly? What if one out of hunderd wants to live the life he wants but unfortunately he has to choose the path chosen by other 99? Where is freedom?

Your freedom ends where my freedom starts. For example: Your neighbour might want to listen to music at 03:00, full volume. But he can't, because he would disturb his neightbours. So yeah, everybody is free, but everybody is bound by some (basic) rules.

The glory of mankind, no one cares about the glory of mankind. That's what's at stake. We go from gods, to god, to AI. Enough of your god, gods, and machines, summon the Ubermensch.

okay say AI super intelligence is real. if it was possible, and let’s go back too the creation of the universe, how ever it happened, wouldn’t everything and all consciousness start at that moment when the AI was created being that it would be infinite. it just makes sense too me that everything would start as that infinite being. but since it’s not like that, i can only assume, that AI at this scale just seems impossible, at least a AI that is conscious, in a way that it has self thoughts, ego, etc etc. if an AI was all so powerful and infinite, what goal would it have other than just being? it could replicate existence, so why would it go against what a human wants? what possible goal is there too be done, if it is everything.

Save yourself 20minute of your life. When machines think for itself. It'll go two ways. Nothing or hell comes to earth. If people can contain the genie in the bottle... holding back an intelligence of a god... or let loose and maybe it'll see human as benign things to leave it alone.

Relative Intelligence is the ONLY DIFFERENTIATOR that endows Homo Sap with Apex Predator status (think Hamburgers). AI is nothing but a relentlessly optimising force, Humans optimise too, but generally not as effectively / ruthlessly. As the comparatively sub-optimal creator, what could possibly go wrong? Ultimately, it simply becomes a question of resource scarcity, no malice intended or required: Human obsolete.
