At the end of the day, he pushed tom brady out of new england and failed to rebuild the team in the 4 years since. He was given a lot of leeway and was allowed to pretty much run the team how he wanted. Most teams looking for a new coach are looking for some kind of rebuild, and are not going to hire the 72 year old who just failed at a rebuild.

Bill passed on A.J. Brown and DK Metcalf to draft N'Keal Harry. Belichick has drafted just one All Pro since 2013. Brady haters want to argue that Bill's defenses "carried" Tom, while Belichick's defenses never carried Drew Bledsoe, Matt Cassel, Cam Newton, Mac Jones, or Bailey Zappe to a super bowl. You can't make this stuff up. Tom carried Bill because he kept his offenses on the field to rest his defense.

Belichick is like 83-104 without Brady, he has won just one playoff game in 11 seasons without him, he has zero division titles without him, and zero conference championship or super bowl appearances without him. And people STILL wonder why owners and managers don't want Bill? Andy Reid made it to Super Bowl 39 with Donovan McNabb, had 5 NFC Championship appearances, and won a wild card game in 2015 with Alex Smith and the Chiefs. He did all of that without Mahomes. Let that sink in.

Truth be told, the Patriots were loaded and played in a weak division. I said it while it was happening. Anyone could have done what Belichick did. What genius coaching moves did he make to be justified as the "greatest coach of all-time"? When you have the best team in the league, you're supposed to win. If anything, he underachieved because of all the times he got upset in the Super Bowl, just like Dave Roberts with the loaded Dodgers.

We'll never forget Bill benching Malcolm Butler in Super Bowl 52. Let's see Mahomes win something when Reid benches Travis Kelce or Chris Jones in the super bowl. It's tough to win the big game when you have your own coach and a defense playing against you.

His record with and with out Brady, (just like Bruce Arians) is a big difference. It's not shocking in the slightest, and personally I don't think it's Bill's age, it's results. The league is in a new era where younger coaches are needed to relate to the players and either are offensive minds or able to hire the right OC (i.e Demeco Ryans hiring Slowik) Bill Belichik the past 4 years has a losing record, made the playoffs once and stunted Mac Jones’ growth with the hirings of Joe Judge and Patricia. Correct. BB had been fired from most of the teams he had worked for and the Giants refused to hire him once Parcells left. He's not the only one though. Tony Dungy was also fired from all the teams he had worked for before Peyton Manning walked onto his field. But, he was smart enough to leave when Manning's health became an issue.

In the end, it turned out that neither Brady nor Bill were some kind of magicians. Brady couldn't win his last game with them. Last game as patriot, he throws a pick six with his team down by 1. And with Bucs he couldn't put up more then 13 points vs the rams. As for Bill, last few seasons proved he's not superhero either, his rebuilding and drafting was not that successful, the team went down under his watch, he has to take his part of the blame as well. Still, I believe no team can stay on top for few decades, Pats would go down sooner or later, with or without Bill and Brady.

hires Matt Patricia and Joe Judge to develop young quarterbacks, still values special team gunners over explosive playmaking offensive talent, can't build a quality staff around him because he doesn't trust anyone and doesn't like his ego being challenged, shows up to work in tattered dirty sweaters covered with holes, mumbles and groans his way through interactions, doesn't relate whatsoever to his own players, is 72 and is only trying to desperately hang on to chase Shula's record then retire...................... yet people still think teams should be lining up to hire him? Take away the name "Bill Belichick", look at how he's operated in recent years and the results it's directly led to, and NOT ONE FOOTBALL FAN ON EARTH would want that man running their team he literally became a dinosaur right before our very eyes, it's just taking people awhile to figure it out

Couple weeks ago, some national sports reporter (I forget who), was talking about how Belichick would strut around the Patriot's facilities and was not particularly respectful of team owner, Robert Kraft. If I recall correctly, it was something like, if the two passed each other in the hallways, Mr. Kraft would always have to speak first, kind of a thing. I would imagine that VERY few billionaires have the type of ego that would tolerate things like this, championships be damned. Personality MATTERS. Don't think so? Look at the 3 major North American sports........ALL who fired Hall of Fame coaches (with tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars on the line).......who were STILL winning.......due to ego. Joe Torre mid-2000's New York Yankees, Phil Jackson 1998 Chicago Bulls, Jimmy Johnson mid 90's Dallas Cowboys. IF that is true (and I absolutely believe that it is)........add to Belichick's lack of success with the Browns, post Tom Brady lack of success, poor record as a GM the last 5 years, his poor coaching tree, his age, the amount of control he is purported to want, AND being a defensive minded coach, in an offensive league.........taking all these factors into account, I am NOT surprised that no halfway decent teams are clamoring to hire him. He's a potential headache AND a short-term solution. I would think any teams who have a heritage of winning, want an offensive minded, rising star head coach, who is in his late 30's to early 50's, and who has no immediate aspirations to make personnel decisions.

"If" is the keyword. Philly gave Andy Reid total control of the Eagles Coaching and GM Powers back in 2008. It was bad results galore. I have a bad feeling about this. I think the 'football gods' might wait Bill out so he doesn't surpass Shula. This is why it was so imperative that he remain the coach of the Patriots for another 2-3 seasons, even if it meant relinquishing gm duties. Man, there's something special about Shula! 😄NO ONE has caught him with the '72 perfect season (Bill's Patriots came the closest when they went 18-1 several yrs ago). It looks like his total wins record may be safe, as well. Bill is only like 14 games back, but if he sits out this year, depending on where he goes next year (if it's a rebuild) that may take 3 seasons. That's 4 yrs for a 72 year old coach. It may be out of reach, as crazy as that sounds now.

… shouldn‘t it be obvious? Everyone has been watching Belichick after Brady. And what they have seen is that he couldn‘t do it with Cam Newton. That even his defense was not first in the league. And that he wrecked a rookie QT who might not have been a Mahomes or Allen but who was absolutely solid. He might be Bill Belichick. He might have all that playoff experience. But risk hiring a head coach who saw no issue in adding two more defense oriented people to his coaching staff ON OFFENSE when offense was already the biggest weakness? You‘d be nuts to trust that guy with your team…

Why surprised? Bellichick is a good defensive coach, average coach without Brady and cheating, a horrible GM, scout, and coaching evaluator. Anytime you bring back people like Joe judge and Matt Patricia says a lot about lack of scouting. Bellichick is average and wants more power than he deserves. Atlanta and Seattle gave him two superbowls, the others are questionable. All Bellichick would do is bring Matt Patricia back in and Josh McDaniels, no one is going to give Bellichick that much power and you have been a loser since Brady left.

I don't think it means anything in terms of deciding if it was more Brady than Belichick because Brady chose a fairly loaded team. A star player joining other really good players to win a championship sounds like an NBA story. It's great for those who can do it -- but it's not really evidence that it was more Brady than Belichick. It also ignores Belichick's other 2 SBs.

Everyone keeps listing Bills accolades like we don't know them. But they fail to realise that those very accolades are the reason no one is hiring him. First of all every team is asking themselves, "Is Bill still hungry enough to fight for a championship". After all he has eight already!! Like really, do y'all think he's really gonna be that invested or hurt if he doesn't win one more? Not really. It's pay day and vacay time for Bill. And secondly, every coach has his prime. And it's pretty clear Bill is past his. Guys had had ample time to study his antics, style, plays, etc. He's just not that effective anymore. He's still a great coach no doubt. The greatest, yes no doubt. But he's past it. It's time. It's time for him to take on a GM role.
