Russia was an emerging market; I’d say it’s submerged into a frontier market now. Russian corporate bonds fell 94% in 3 months, their stock market fell 35% on day 1 of the invasion, has been closed 4 days, Russian stocks ETFs are down 37 to 78% in a week. It shows how risky single country funds can be.

For the guy with the voya 2045. He said the cost of the fund was .39 points. I am not a finance advisor, but I set up 401ks for work. 401ks have fees that are on basis points. So u maybe paying more to leave it with ur old employer. Check with ur former employer to see if ur paying for platform charges while leaving ur money there.

As gardner would say, to be a good gardner you have to buy a plant and then have a plant not do good. What investment did you buy, that lost money. Or that you sold too quickly.

Rob just a few tweaks for the new studio. You have something in the camera frame on the right side - black fuzz on the top right corner. Also the water bottle looks huge sitting where it is in the frame. Both are a little distracting. Otherwise I like your wife’s office better!

Hi Rob, what are your thoughts about VTIB for my bond allocation in taxable account and FXNAX in 401k . I am thinking about of splitting my bond allocation between the two accouts. I live in a CT state high taxes and I have 100k invested and income of 130k yearly.

What happens if other stocks not based in the US do well for an extended period. Also, indexing is about tracking markets, not investing based on feelings and choosing markets to invest in. In other words, invest in ALL public companies available as an investor.

Hi Robert, following your content for a while, and very grateful for all your insights. I am not quite sure what to do rightnow. I have made my investments mostly in my own country, but know i want to get into the US market. I have read about the tax applied to nras (non resident aliens) and it is very harsh towards dividends, but does not tax capital gains for non US income sources. So my question is: Could one build a well diversified portfolio using low dividend paying etfs?

I think we should not invest in countries that have no democracy because our money are not safe there from the wimp of a ruler. We should not invest in countries that have weak military forces. I mean, if the national wealth cannot be protected from a foreign intruder, why trust them with money?

TOTALLY unnecessary, buying international funds, that is; when approximately 40% of the revenues in the companies in a total-stock-market index fund, already come from outside the U.S. Unless, you just don't want any exposure to any company domiciled in the U.S; and I can't understand why anybody would want that!

If you want to invest in bloody Putleria, go ahead, it’s USA, a free country ;) , you can do as you wish. I would rather invest in this country, and not let it slip economically. Let’s understand that even though you don’t want to talk about politics, we vote with our money.
