@@psionicinversion Unfortunately they have a law on their side that says everyone needs a fucking licence to watch any live TV. Whether they can prove it or not is another thing, but most people just want to stay within the law so they pay up. It's just a tax to most law abiding people. Clearly it's unfair to the point of absurdity.

Defund them.

I stopped paying my licence fee last year - life is much better without the woke, PC obsessed BBC in my life.

Their left biasnesses really turned me off - their Brexit coverage, promoting Nish Kumar on children's education with their ridiculous horrible history. Questiontime ....seeing racism in everything I think a lot of people have had enough- if you want them, pay for it through subscription.

Completely agree, however in the BBC's defense it was relatively impartial in the build up to the Brexit vote. As soon as the vote went the way it did it became clear they didn't understand the country outside of London and didn't have the diversity of thought or opinion within the organisation to understand it. It just wasn't in their capabilities. I've not watched any of its news or political output since then.

Your enthusiasm comes and then goes. Less than 50p a day doesn't seem that bad. To save money they get rid of outside correspondent, ...correspondents ... editors throughout as they only repeat their scrip, they stick to the guidelines so are not impartial. A newsreader talking to another colleague seems pointless.

Broadcasters don't employ racists, BBC has sacked people who has voiced racist views, Talk Radio has, LBC sacked Nigel Farage. for making a racist comment, I will be amazed if the BBC would employ him . Danny Baker made a racist comment on Twitter, BBC sacked him. My own view is I don't believe Danny Baker is a racist, but I am afraid the comment he made on Twitter was racist.

I cancelled my TV licence. The last nail in the coffin was when Emily Maitlis spewed her leftist, biased bile all over my lounge on Newsnight regarding Dominic Cummings. That was deplorable.

I have stopped paying TV TAX near on 2 years ago. Will not get any of my hard earned cash. DEFUND NOW.

I worked there for many years and every word you say is Spot on. It's a security blanket for many, you have to tiptoe around delegate egos and ignore incompetence. The only point you missed was the consultants who decided to sell TV centre and move everything to bush house and Salford, the biggest waste of money ever in the organisation. Consultants that charged a fortune for making a massive mistake.

i dont fund the BBC as i dont watch TV of any sort so don't pay the licence fee. TV is simply not worth the cost.

They don't have to cut staff jobs nor must they be abolished. Just let them go independent, hence, people can then choose whether they want to pay the licence or not. (They'll soon go into administration).

What annoys me the most is when they brag about the fact that 400 million people across the world have access to the BBC. You live here you pay. Geographicall discrimination if there is such a thing.

I foolishly looked on bbc iPlayer for a documentary to watch. There wasn’t anything of interest because I am neither black or gay. Don’t see why I should have to pay!

I've tried to stick up for the BBC but the funding model cant carry on. No other business in the world operates on the basis of a captive market and guaranteed income with no recourse for dissatisfied customers.

I've already defunded the bbc and did so 11 years ago! I would rather throw my TV in the bin, than pay that organisation one penny of my hard earned cash.

When they were told they were too London centric they should have opened a new Pebble Mill in Brum, expanded the Oxford Road Studios in Manchester and opened small studios up around the country. What they did instead was move the whole thing from London to Manchester which cost hundreds of millions. They're now diminishing the regional studios which give a voice to the rest of the country outside of Salford Quays.

Of course the BBC should go! They don't deserve another penny - in fact one could argue that some of them should actually be in jail! They don't represent anything remotely British anymore. My guess is that they are wholly beyond reform. Perhaps there should be a debate about what, if anything , should replace it.
