Thanks for watching. I believe to get Royal Level, you have to choose the room category with Royal Level in the title. You could call the resort to double check as well.

Thanks for watching. The Occidental is located in a city setting, so you can walk around the area, take a bus or taxi into downtown, the Malecon. Its a compact resort. You can swim in the ocean. The Palladium is away from the city, so no walking outside the resort. It is a large complex, almost jungle like and built in the side of a hill. You can swim and surf in this beach. Rooms and food is about the same. One had a city feel and the other remote and authentic

how's the nightly entertainment? any live music?

@@Relativity123 I'm 99% sure the Royal Level rooms have balconies. This resort also has time share, and some rooms are designated for this. Perhaps call the resort and ask - sorry I don't have a specific answer
