I’m in the wait a couple years camp. Not just to give Toyota time to work out any gremlins but also for channel content. It’s going to take the aftermarket scene a little time to catch up. Waiting IMO is a win win for you. Even the Gen 3 had leaking issues that took until mid 2018 to correct. Sure everything is under warranty but I still wouldn’t want Toyota pulling things apart if I can avoid it. That being said you have an awesome channel for a reason. You do you! 😉👍

the wait a couple year camp, really means, you'll never buy a NEW vehicle camp. Vehicles are constantly changing (literally) from one year to the next. You'll never be able to purchase. Now, I might wait 3 or 6 months...and keep my ear to the internets for issues. Otherwise, buy it and enjoy it. Merci

Love the look of the 2024. I have a 2021 SR with the legendary 2 TR FE. I'm a tradesmen and use it daily for work. Proud to say I have the last iron block, naturally aspirated, inline 4 cylinder Toyota will ever make and I feel in the long run I think it will out drive these new ones due to mechanical simplicity.

Geez!! You are quite knowledgeable about Toyota Tacomas!! I truly love your 3rd gen Tacoma, it looks fantastic! I have always wanted to get a Tacoma myself……… I live in Tacoma, WA!! Trucks are so expensive tho. Maybe when my house is paid off (less then 3yrs left!!!!!!) a Tacoma could be my next goal. Anyways, keep up the great videos and content, Chloe. I love watching em and dreaming about owning my own Tacoma someday. Maybe someday I will get tired of my bonsai trees and sell em off, then I could get a Tacoma!! Take care and have a blessed day!!

Glad to see major changes to the Tacoma as I was not impressed enough with the previous generations.

When my wife and I first got married in 2003, we purchased a lightly used 2000Toyota Tacoma Prerunner extended cab. The only option was the big wheel package. It had crank windows, manual locks, 4 cylinder. It got up to 27 mpg on the highway. We had to let it go about 7 years later, there was a frame issue with it under recall. Now, I am 20 years older and have missed having a Tacoma. The new model looks promising. As long as my wife (5'2") can get up into it, we will probably buy a new one. This time, the Tacoma will not be a bare bones model. Likely an SR5 or Sport. Thank you Chloe for your insights.

I would love the hybrid too, but the only reason I’m worried about it is the lack of interior storage. The battery is in place of the rear under-seat storage. I don’t think Chloe notices this. On top of that, I hope the JBL subwoofer is optional, because that takes up 1/3 of the storage behind the rear seats!

Terrific Video. I prefer the access (extended) cab instead of the 4 door and all of the great features of this 4 door will not be offered on the extended cab. No optional rear suspension, no hybrid engine, etc. Also an additional 3 inches in width and 6 or more in length puts this truck pretty tight in my garage, a reason I got rid of my 2008 Tundra and bought a 2019 Tacoma. Looks like I'm stuck with my 2019!

I just got my 2023'trd off road in November. I originally wanted a short bed. They didn't have one. I got a longer 6 foot bed that had a short wait. Get the longer bed. It makes the truck look better and you can always use the extra bed space. Since then i put tyger steps and roof rack, sequential side mirror turns, morimoto third brake light, alpha rex sequential rear tail lights, auxbeam 8 switch panel, front raptor lights, aux beam rock lights and im still upgrading.

I enjoy and share your enthusiasm about the new Taco. To me, I think it may all come down to price since the current economy is pretty wonky and vehicle prices across the board have gotten ridiculous. I may do a few upgrades to my 2018 Sport like those I have seen you do, and wait a couple years to see what reviews are like and how the price goes. Tough choice!

I think the only other vehicle to offer this is Ford's Powerboost hybrids in their F series Trucks. One thing I've really been worrying about in the 2024 Tacoma that we won't find out until it releases is the way it drives. I took a new Lexus RX350 out for a test drive with the 4-cylinder turbo engine that replaced the V6 (Used to use the same V6 as the Tacoma). It felt gutless. I remember being insanely underwhelmed, drove it back to the dealership like "I could never spend over $60k (Canadian) on that. I am sorry. It drives like a $20000 SUV". Hopefully the new engine doesn't completely kill the drive for the new Tacoma. Glad they kept the manual though. Love driving my '21 Taco every day because of it. ^.^

Glad to see they kept the general design feel. Improvements sound good, but maybe expensive. Sad to hear it is longer. The whole reason for buying a mid-size truck is not to have a big truck. An additional 4" of the Gen 4 means it cannot fit my garage as my Gen 3 barely fits.

ive had an 87 and 99. Wrecked the 87 or i would still have it. Gave my 99 (original owner) to my son who took it to college this fall. The 2024 is the first model thats made me consider NOT finding and 80-90s series truck. The simplicity and reliablility of those old trucks cant be overstated. The 24's look super nice but all them electronics make me leary. I also worry about the lifespan of the hybrid battery

You forgot to mention that there’s is a 3inch added in width when you buy the trd pro and trail hunter. Also, you forgot to mention that the sr5 and prerunner is going to have leaf springs while the trd sport to the trd pro is going to have coil springs. And different models such as the trd trims are going to have different shocks. I’m going for the trail hunter because it has old man emus. Also trd pro has nice seats 🤣 with fox shocks

I actually really like the new version however I don't think I will be trading my 2020 SR5 4x4 for one. I tend to be a long term vehicle owner. I still love My Truck! It's soon paid off and I want a good long break from vehicle payments. I'll admire this version when it shows up on the streets. However if anything unforeseen should happen that I need to replace mine I can't see me looking at anything to replace it than maybe a new Gen 4 SR5 4x4 or a well loved gen 3 TRD OR.

Thanks Chloe for this great video. I planned to go with the exact same trim as you, and your video confirmed my choice. I’m only hesitating for the bed length since my motorcycle would fit diagonally in a 6 foot bed, but I would sacrifice maneuverability and off-road performance. Thanks again!
