I have cleaned up and reused worse pistons, even reused piston rings. I cleaned and reused a piston in my fs85 and it's still going years later. I have a 44.7mm piston I am going to reuse in my 026 (fitted with Caber rings). The bore clearances were the same as the brand new piston.

The best thing I have used so far for mosquitoes is cedar oil. I like the brand "Nantucket Spider". Keep swattin'!

Good day tinman, that bracket that the spring is hooked to I'd bend it so the spring lays away from the belt

Good to have you back Tinman! I'm excited to see you port that 026, there are barely any videos on people porting them! I can't wait to see what a little monster you can build with one :) I've got an 026, and a partly built 026, both that I want to port, so this series has my full and undivided attention!!!!

Glad to see you back on the channel! Still monsoon season here in Minnesota as well. Trying to close on a house and the new septic is holding things up. I'm going to have my own shop. I'm super excited. Rain, rain, go away!

If no damage to either cylinder or Piston then I would use it but I’m on tight budget and reuse a lot of things I work on 😎👍

A UV lamp with built in bugzapper might solve the problem, if you leave it overnight in the shop. I've seen one in action, it was having a field day.

The spring adjusts the tension automatically. If it's rubbing it's because the spring is barely stretched. Looks like belt is probably at least 2 sizes to long as the spring coils are about to touch. Been doing belts on all my own tractors lately.

Look at the size of those skeeters! Good lord. Like the ones I'd see up in Georgian Bay on fishing trips, carry you off. lol.

Working on a walk behind mower at the moment as well and dodging the mosquitoes... they are to big to swat so you just walk around them....😂 was running a dodo coil the other day in the garage, it was the only way to have the garage door open. Can't go wrong with some Texas BBQ and sea food...mmmm. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙

I wouldn't. I love an 026,but they wear on the thrust side of the piston something awful. I'd use a new piston.

Buy a can of knock down (I believe that’s what it was called) Restaurants use it, although I wouldn’t advise breathing it in. Couple sprays around your shop/house/tent and the bugs will either lose interest or drop to the floor in 10-20 min. It works great. I always have a can of it for camping.
