This makes sense!

What if a priest has low seeded homosexual tendencies? What if a man who has become ordained has had low seeded homosexual tendencies but eventually gets ordained. Like the man has these tendencies but was able to remain chaste his whole life and entered seminary and then eventually became a priest? Thank you for your input… I once heard a priest use the term low seeded. Low seeded or deep seated. It is still gay. Would love to hear your thoughts.

That's a question for a canonist, or for me if I do a lot more research. It's true that everyone has the potential for every kind of sin, and everyone has the potential for homosexuality in some sense - but that's different than an active desire to have sex with a man even if someone is chaste.

I'm a tad confused on this one, so as long as they're not practicing homosexuals its fine? I feel like the distinction is similar to someone remaining chaste as a priest. This applies to those who are heterosexual correct?

It's not about whether they are celibate, that goes without saying, to become a priest one cannot have a prediction towards homosexuality at all. This is because a certain wholeness of self is required to offer yourself to God in this way, and is similar to how someone missing an arm is also not allowed to become a priest.

I’m in accord with the Church’s decision in recognizing the disorder in deep homosexuality tendencies that are manifested from some deep-seated trauma that occurred previously in younger years. God heals all disorders if He is truly sought for healing. 🎚💔❤️‍🩹❤️🎚

No one, including the church, or you, KNOWS what brings about sexual orientation. All sorts of theories abound, from both sides, but they are nothing more than theories, opinions, hypotheses.

There may be many causes of homosexuality, or only one, but their cause (whether born or made) do not change whether those who presently have such inclinations should be permitted to the priesthood - or whether the Church can justly legislate about such practices.

@@CatechesisVids they are two separate questions, yes. My point was that the etiology of sexual orientation, of any kind, is not known, in the scientific sense. So in future, why don’t you simply stick to what the church teaches and leave the questions of origin out of it.

The Church never goes against the Bible and neither is it ever necessary to side with scripture over the interpreters of scripture.

God created that human being. Because of Adam and Eve , they have the same fallen nature as heterosexuals. In the next life , they will become whole
