    I have utilized some of your techniques when playing and they work. I say "some" due to only having so many hours in a day. I began playing a few months ago after not playing in many years, and the best part is that those who I am now playing with are at a higher skill level, which is a great way to improve. Seeing as it is a family with a long history of playing pool, I was truly impressed with my wins a few nights ago. This included playing my friend's son who has a ton of ability, and it would be awesome to see him take his game to another level . I played his mom who has even more experience and potential, and I have been trying to get to play more often. On this particular night I was able to win while playing both, as well as mom offering to play for $20. a rack as a result of her loss and wishing to double down. So I took her money. I refused to take it, but when I woke up the next morning I found the $20. in my backpack. I put a dent in the armor of a dynasty and I earned a little bragging rights. Thanks for the advice and the opportunity share what I have learned, because, like you said, teaching someone is a great way to improve on one's skill level. When I played the son I gave him an incredible amount respect and didn't talk sh[-]t. But... Since mom talks a lot of s[=]it, I did as well, but in was all in good fun and I would never do such a thing except under certain circumstances. I pride myself on having respect for my opponent and etiquette, especially if I am not familiar with the venue. This was all in good fun, so please don't take it out of context. I lose more than I win and I stay humble, but among friends who also talk smack it's fun. I really love my friends and I would do anything for them.

    The shot on the 6 is he really don't tell you the secret of the shot, certain conditions must be in play in order for it to work every time.

    If your set up correctly for the six you have to hit it a little off to the same side as the rail. Doesn't work every time but I've had to play that a couple times and I've made it at least 2/5 times. Good luck sir.

    the first shot is a hanger in the right conditions, 2 things need to be in place...object ball must be more then 1/2 ball over side pocket and it needs to be leaning a little(compressed)...meaning you wouldnt be able to cut it down the rail. you can literally hit any part of the cue ball, its a hanger. throw...hmmmm....ok....whatever side of the cue ball...be it left or right, that you hit, when the cue contacts the object ball, the object ball will move in the opposite direction. the shot cant be too drastic tho, for ex: a almost straight shot towards the right pocket and you want to stop the cue, with a normal shot you cant stop the cue but if you aim full and contact the cue on the left side then even tho you are aiming straight , by you hitting the cue on the left side will impart right throw thus allowing you to stop the cue and still pocket the ball. the shot cant be too drastic tho...you can only impart so much throw onto an object ball. always the opposite....if you want object ball to move more left then you would hit the cue more on the right. hope that helps

    its good to know about throw and all but as a beginner i suggest you dont use too much sidespin, try using just the middle of the cue ball...high middle, middle middle and low middle, that way you dont have to compensate so much and actually learn the game the right way. once you become an intermediate player then you can start fooling around with the throw. by using middle more often you will learn a true hit on the cue ball...everything will come in due time and i've seen many beginners ruin their game right out of the gate by fooling around too much with the sidespin. work on your fundamentals just like any sport.

    This is a great shot. He does tell you the secret. It is to hit a little low and hard, fully on the face of the 6. Don't aim at the back of the pocket, but the part of the pocket that is straight through the 6. You also need as close as you can get to 45 degrees away from the 6 to make it work.

    CzarAice01 (CIGMA) Sorry, but when you reach a higher level of play, especially against good players in tournaments, you'll see differently. The intentional foul was the correct play. I'd guess your peers get angry at safety play also?

  • @CzarAice01

    @CzarAice01

    6 жыл бұрын

    Gumptrain Running nah man. safeties are great. the intentional foul is really douchie. it's a cop out. not saying it's not a smart play. but it's such a cop out when you play an awesome safety and your opponent goes "well fuck that safety, i'm gonna pot the 10/9 and give you ball in hand because you won't run the balls out".

  • @MRAUTHORITY01

    @MRAUTHORITY01

    6 жыл бұрын

    CzarAice01 (CIGMA) lol, sorry man. Listen, I know what you're saying and since moving to a smaller town most people here are also not exposed to bigger upper level tournaments. Now, playing your buddy for a drink in the bar, or a friendly couple of bucks. Then yeah it's usually frowned upon. In fact this weekend theres a bigger 10ball tournament going on in Beloit WI st the Carom Room with the likes of Shane Van Bornig, Jesse Bowman, etc. They will intentionally foul if it's the right play. You're still giving someone ball in hand and at their level odds are the guy that gets ball in hand will either run out, or play a deadlock safe back. Trust me, no upper level player (BCA Master Level or a Pro) will get mad or say its dirty. That's 100% indisputable fact. Most recreational players will hate it and say its dirty, but it's truly not. U do it for the same reason as a safety is played. So as not to just give the opponent a win. It would be like in football if punting wasnt allowed and u had to go for it on 4th down from your own end zone.

  • @CzarAice01

    @CzarAice01

    6 жыл бұрын

    Gumptrain Running dude i get it, i know it's a smart play. but please don't compare it to a safety. a safety shot is better. you have to be precise with your shot and where the ball lands. intentional fouls aren't uncommon in tournaments i know that. but we still feel ill towards it as it's a cop out. i don't know anything about football so i can't comment on the last part. but for us, intentional fouls in billiards is like flopping in basketball. it's underhanded, but it's smart.

    CzarAice01 (CIGMA) I have to concur with the other guy on this. Yeah it does seem shitty in bar pool or for small stakes games but when big money is on the line, then this is exactly what you do and everyone knows it. And the reason is bc this isn't like being a professional NFL or NBA player where the worst players can sit on the bench all game, their team lose every game of the season, and they are still gonna get paid $500K or better anyways. In sports like this, or bowling or golf for example, you have to win to get paid here. There's no way around it. And that's why shots like this are far more acceptable amongst players than you'd think.

    The 8 ball throw shot do not ever shoot that shot unless you have won Atleast 5 tournaments if you have won 5 tournaments you don't need to watch this video. I'm just watching to correct mistakes made my amature teachers that want to pretend there famous. Ok now why not shoot that shot two reasons you can get froze to the bottom of the ten ball or top. Its a speed control shot and the force of the shot it determined by the angle. Play the same shot in this case I would play low left english at pocket speed. You could also play mid low english but hit it twice as hard and come off the rail back over to were the 8 ball was.

    Agree, 10 ball is the last ball to play based on IPBF rules, after combination it goes back to the spot. But I have a bigger problem:) this strategy of pocketing the 10 ball directly is complete BS... You leave an open table with 5 balls to your opponent. that's called suicide. If you want to play tricky, then create a problem on the table, i.e push the 3 ball to the 2 ball forcing your opponent improve that position from shooting the 1 ball. Not impossible, yet a bit better chance not to lose that game:)

    Lol. For all you guys staring the intentional foul was "low" or dirty, you obviously have a VERY LONG WAY to go in pool. Intentionally fouling in that situation is the 100% correct move. If you don't think so, you haven't competed on a level past playing for a drink or a few dollars in the bar. I guess you guys would also think a safety is dirty.

    in this case it was a bad choice because you leave an easy open table. Maybe he should have fouled creating a cluster, but not leaving ball in hand in an open table (every player can run 5 balls)

    No ways Not feeling the throw you played. It was a slow shot and way slower than wothout the left spin so even if i played dead center and aimed to pot without spin and slow i would end up same as your throw

    in EPBF rules you don't win in 10-ball with a combo where the 10 is pocketed, it needs to be pocketed last - like in 8-ball. I don't know about american rules, but you guys aren't really anywhere near our level anyway

    O. K. E. Lol. International rules are you have to call the 10ball as with every ball in 10 ball. Whereas in 9ball any pocketed ball counts as long as you make contact with the lowest ball 1st. And please.......don't go making a such a skill level content as you did. That's a ridiculous statement. Especially considering you don't even know the rules of 10ball. No place on earth is it a rule it has to be made last.

    Ehh, check your facts mate. from EPBF: "9.8 Continuing Play If the shooter legally pockets a called/nominated ball on a shot (except a push out, see 2.4 Second Shot of the Rack - Push Out), any additional balls pocketed remain pocketed (except the ten ball; see 9.9 Spotting Balls), and he continues at the table for the next shot. If a player nominates and legally pockets the ten ball prior to the ten ball being the last remaining ball, the ten ball is re-spotted and the shooter continues. If the shooter fails to pocket the called ball or fouls, play passes to the other player, and if no foul was committed, the incoming player must play the cue ball from the position left by the other player. " But of course, you can continue to play after having pocketed the 10-ball, but it's simply respotted. (I'm just mocking you when it comes to America not being at our level, hinting at the fact that we've beat you with quite some points in Mosconi cup the last few years) Source: europeanpocketbilliardfederation.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/WPA-Rules-Of-Play-01FEB2016.pdf page 27.

    Aww the yanks think that this is skillful. THE POCKETS ARE THE SIZE OF THE GRAND CANYON. And the jaws are flat. Honestly. Try Snooker yanks. I bet you will reconsider your skill level after that.

    John Stone Sorry, I'm not gonna have a pissing contest with some rotten tooth limey who wouldn't even recognize a cunt if one were willing to come within 5 meters of his micropenis. (But to be fair, if there were one willing, it wouldn't recognize that you were in her either, were that miracle ever to happen) The fact remains that my grandfather, and my uncle after him, owned a pool hall/pub for a combined total of over 60 years. While all the other kids were off playing Super Mario World, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, etc. I was in there learning every aspect of the game as soon as I was tall enough to get my shoulders over the table. They had a snooker table in there (and carom as well) as a sort of novelty. Never had the felt or cushions needing changing on the snooker table if that gives you any indication of the interest it (didn't) generate. In case you didn't notice, the balls on a snooker table are also smaller. Therefore, it was of no consequence the few times I gave that snooze fest a try.
