Same here. I don't usually find myself wanting to backseat unless something super egregious is going on. This game is hard to not want to backseat because there's always a definitive best answer, unlike games like Slay the Spire where there are sometimes multiple different outcomes that could debatably all be worth going for.

@@Noeyk200 There are better and worse moves but there are often a lot of best moves. There are so many combinations that you can do.. most of the times there are multiple perfect moves.

Roguelike "The Numbers Round from Countdown" isn't something I was expecting to see, but it really works!

Yeah, but it's not like alot of educational games as it doesn't really come off as educational. Alot of those games seem to be too much on the educational side of things and lack any sort of fun factor. So they fail to draw kids in to where they want to continue playing. This one is perfect though because it's looks and feels like a normal fun game, but has educational aspects baked directly into the gameplay. So the stuff being taught is disguised as a fun game and that's why I think it would ultimately succeed at being a tool for teaching kids math. If an adult can play it and have fun then you know you've got something special.

Now this should be the kinda game teachers force you to play.

I can smell the backseat potential already

This is quite literally the Number Round from countdown. And I've never been good at that, but I guess without the pressure of a time limit I could solve them. Very cool concept.

If you’re looking for other roguelites to give a try, Swirl W@tch is a fun one. The dev could really use some eyes on their games - this one in particular being “roguelite MGSV space infiltration in the atmosphere of a gas giant”. I sank like a bazillion hours into it.

I like this game! Loads of potential to just fully break the game, as well as not even get past the second or third wave sometimes. And a game that allows itself to be broken is a good game in my book.
