It's not the shot that hurts...it's the medication going in that stings so the slower you push it in the better. Then baby has to process what just happened....then the crying.

I agree that some of them sting, even for a couple of minutes but the needle going into the muscle (where it must go) also hurts. I’ve noticed it doesn’t matter much if it’s administered slowly or quickly.

It’s bad if you hit a nerve ending that’s when it really hurts. I know I do them every day.

Sometimes babies seem to cry quite some time after the shot. That's what makes me laugh. I call it 'cry half an hour after the shot'. It's like "what happened", then the cry. Lol
