@karpov89 isiZulu is only spoken in South Africa. isiNdebele is spoken in Zimbabwe and Botswana. These languages were the same 200 years ago. English is mostly the same in England and the US, but there's been a lot of contact. When Mizilikaze took Shaka's cattle, he knew the only contact would be a violent one. So the two languages have drifted a bit, but if you speak one, you can understand the other. Both rely on a lot of "clicks," unlike the other language in Zimbabwe, Shona.
@ImperialistRunningDo12 жыл бұрын
@karpov89 Yep. It's the song of people who have to travel to a distant mine. Even today, many people from Zimbabwe cross into South Africa hoping to find work. Sadly, they are often not received kindly.

Shosholoza is a traditional Southern African folk song. The Zulu word Shosholoza means go forward or make way for the next man. It is something of a "second national anthem" in South Africa. Apparently, the lyrics differ from recording to recording, as do the Latin transcriptions. Here is one example: "Move fast on those mountains train from South Africa. You are running away on those mountains train from South Africa. "

Rough English translation: Move faster, You are meandering on those mountains, The train is from South Africa. You accelerate, on those mountains, The train is from South Africa. "Shosholoza" means "Go forward" or "Make way for the next man". The word also sounds like the noise of a steam train. ("Stimela" is the Zulu word for a steam train). got it off a website :)
